It's the one near the base of the tree with the ladybug on it. When you open it, it brings up the new builder cuckoo. In the upper left corner are two arrows you can use to scroll through the many breeding animals you can unlock for stars. Scroll right three animals to the Flaming Steer. I unlocked it a long time ago so I don't remember how many stars it takes. :)

Oh, I unlocked that a while ago; can't remember what I got. To do it again I need 280 stars :(

Chris, no, you don't need 280 stars. That particular rune spot has 18 different animals that may be unlocked. The one that shows up first is just the latest one BP has added. You can only unlock each animal once. You must SCROLL through to see what you have and have not unlocked! Did you really unlock the Flaming Steer? Or did you just unlock whatever showed up first?

Use the arrows! Scroll through the options. See what you still can unlock and what you have already unlocked.

You have to click through - it's the pentagon shaped rune that is almost at the base of the tree - there are arrows left and right and you can choose the animal you want. I think I started with the sheep cuz I liked the afghan he was wearing. I still have him - put him in a pen in my park.

Thanks to you too SL - But the event has ended :( and I only got 1 wild boar. I feel cheated: I set the piggies and cuckoos breeding, with enough Pheromones to make sure they finished before the time ran out, but even so, because I harvested them after the time, I only got the one "next generation" offspring. That is so unfair! They finished inside the time, so it should make no difference when I collect them

    - i just found a "single pen" in my crate of decorations. I read somewhere that you could put one breeding animal in it, but I don't know to what end, nor if its placement is important (it seems I can put it in the decorations area). Probably came as an extra when I did part of a quest; I don't recall (hope I didn't buy it!!)
Any insights from you wonderful people would be appreciated (as always)

You probably got it as part of a 'breeding package' if you opened that rune. I remember you opening the chameleon package - it would have come with that. You can put a high level animal in it in order to keep it 'safe' (so I don't go selling it - that's why I do it). You also will harvest a small amount of EP from the animal - it's not much, not worth it, really...save for the keeping it safe from me getting dollar signs in my eyes and selling it. I have three now - fire horse, the afghan covered sheep and a king donkey.

So, when you need that animal, you just "dig up" the pen and it goes back into your inventory? Do the various levels of the animals (ie Duck or mallard) change the amount of ep?

Yes & yes. But the EP given is anyway just a tiny amount, even for the high level breeding animals.

I had a good BBD in that I achieved all I set out to. I didn't get any amazing skips mostly just one level if at all. Still I did get that beanstalk open in addition to finishing the quest and it's biggest impact for me is on Baha. I think I might actually get a bit less EP with the CR's I have vs having the deco items in my park and using my nightmare pet with them. However I wasn't earning any BEP at all since I didn't have any place to put the BEP givers.

I bred sheep after I finished those goals as I wanted to build upgrades for my shearing sheds. I built one orange upgrade and am just one curly shy of building a 2nd. I have enough snuggles to build a red sheep pen but I haven't decided if I want to do that or not. I'm thinking I will hold onto them and see if I can breed up next BBD.

One thing I will say is doing the work to build that upgrade made me look on all the others I have in a different light. Difference between working hard for something and being given it I suppose.

I also have my snuggles stuffed in a breeding pen so I won't be tempted to sell them. Now they are out there I keep calling them "Sean" cause well they look like Sean, anyone else a Wallace and Gromit fan?

Bravo LDC; nice methodology - wish I had done the same instead of trying to multitask it.

    - regarding the single pen: actually it isn't so bad! I get 30 EP from my horse, which is more than I get from the Guard Dog I bought :)

My guard dog just got donated to my cloud row - the one that gives CCs. I was just glad that there wasn't a giant at the top of the beanstalk waiting to eat me.

I had a game plan going into the BBD beyond the event itself. I finished that pretty quickly as I got some great skips. I had planned on breeding rabbits. I wanted to see how high up I could breed them and hopefully get some skips or enough to get a high level pen or workshop upgrade out of it. I also planned to bred a few pigs on the side to work towards the wild boars I would need to open the beanstalk. The pigs were very secondary as I don't have bat breeding open yet and I didn't really have that many pigs in stock.

Funny how you plan things then the game has other ideas. The highest I could get in rabbits was 3 snowies, I had no great skips at all and mostly it kept giving me back plain rabbits. It was very hard work to get those snowies and I used up all my rabbits to do it. Meanwhile I got lots of skips in the few pigs I bred. In fact I ended up with a warthog, tea cup and 7 wild boars and still have lower level pigs available.

Then two things happened one I didn't double check the rabbit pens I put out overnight and I woke up to find them unfed and just sitting there. The second is I found out we were getting surprise visitors for the holiday weekend and that ended my BBD on early Saturday.

All in all not a bad event just sort of unexpected in the results.

Ok; this time I do have something to say/ask - this new event: is it worth while? I can imagine using CAC to get the crops etc, but isn't it a waste, considering the rewards, and the fact it takes nails and boards that you need for building? My thought is it would be better to ignore it and save CAC etc for the Moonlight Madness event (when it eventually comes around). But I respect the opinions and knowledge of the ladies and gents in this room, so I await your enlightening. :music:

IMHO, to give this event what it takes to complete it is absolutely worth it! The cloud row gives a huge amount of EP/BEP and A CAC every 48 hours. No need to save CAC for MM event, when you have a cloud row literally feeding it to you!

hmm - but that only counts if you have opened the beanstalk, right?

The CR is a must have to me. The tools needed are not many you don't need nails BTW only boards and paint. Having a supply of CAC coming in steady that I don't have to pay large amounts of CC for nor do I have to grow the crops needed and use up my sugar for is a complete game changer to me.

I currently use PJ for normal farming but you have to use a lot of it as it only last 4 hours. That keeps me growing pumpkin pretty regularly tying up at least one field. Being able to use CAC for regular farming and still have a supply for events? Worth the effort to get that CR by all means. ;)

Edit: Chris you're going to get the beanstalk open at some point. This CR will be there waiting for you once you do. Yes this is worth the effort.

Yes and no. You can only get the CAC once the beanstalk is open and the CR is activated, yes. However, the CR will still be waiting on you when you do open the beanstalk. BP may never make this particular offer again. Just something to consider.

I would encourage you to try to get the cloud row. It is a good prize and CAC is a game changer not only for events, but inventory as well as quests. You can get your neighbors to send you toolboxes that will replace the tools used and the cloud row will be there for you when you do open it. I don't know what you are wanting to build with your tools but many products are more economical to buy in the market rather than raise yourself. Good luck whatever you choose...

On the flipside, you could sit out the event, not give up the relatively small amount of supplies and build pens and workshops instead. But let's face it, you get like 1 workshop for that many boards...and in many cases not even one. THEN, you could hit the market for your CAC (it remains to be seen how low the prices will go now) or level up you confectioner and purchase the recipe for 199 BBs. Then you'd have fields tied up for the crops needed to make it, not to mention the SUGAR you'd need. If I didn't have the clouds open, and knowing that this primo row would be waiting on me....I'd go for the event!!
