First off: Farmerbroke - you are still my hero! Swoon. Made me laugh right out of the gate this morning.

Second: I have THIS farm so that I can even SEE the boards and post here - players accessing through BigFish don't get that luxury any more, so then to wake up to Ingrid and her off-key singing...well that was a surprise indeed!

Thirdly (and maybe most importantly): Poor poor Ingrid. First Bigpoint makes her throw axes and now she has to subject us to her warbling. Honestly, I think I'd rather go down to the river and listen to the real ones carry on. Although, I suspect most of them have already headed south - we're expecting an early and harsh winter here.

In any case...it's a decent cloud row and this farm needs all the cloud rows it can get so, I'm a-plantin' as fast and furiously as I can!

 

For those interested in continuing along even with the mishaps. Here's some of the calculated numbers.

***NOTE*** This is assuming an average of 40 Star Coins per attempt. If you are lucky enough to get 50 each time your numbers will differ. Same goes for getting less than 40 Star Coins average. From what I remember, I was able to get 50 Star Coins 80-90% of the time playing the Viking event. So these numbers should be more than sufficient for everyone.

I saw the FAQ in other forums yesterday. Since I was not feeling well, I just put the FAQ link in the gossip forum. I thought we might be getting the FAQ out in few hrs. Returned home after work today and what do I find ? It was unusually delayed long.

I second all posts in this thread.

My first harvest for drops is due in another 1 hr. So I will go and have my supper and be back. to join you all.

Just harvested parts of my trees and got 25 vials in total. So hopefully there will come more with my second tree harvest today.

I will do the event and try as hard as I can to get some of the trees and evtl the stable or if I am really good the CR.

Wow! am I ever caught off guard here....I had stupid corn on comfort fields instead of carnations..my strategy is shot for a good start.
Today? Now? Wasn't this supposed to start Thursday? I woke up to a surprise when I saw the little button. I checked last night and no official header. But anyway my strategy is to grow those little things...good luck everyone.

So I'm posting this for the Farmerama powers that be to read. If not for real life preventing me from doing this event, I would have boycotted it. =P Even though I would really like to hear Ingrid sing offkey again and again and again. Why do stuff that's bad for business?

Anyways, I will be selling poop at the lowest market price just for this event. To all players who decide to play this event, happy playing and may you have drops a plenty. =D

 

Well here's another reason I like that I live on the west coast of USA ....I just woke up 30 minutes ago....fixed some tea..and then scurried to find my laptop. We are having the Oktoberfest event....and faq is out.

The mods still have to post it. And it is clear that the mods on the EN forum have a life, for better or for worse. For me the late FAQ made little difference, I saw Julie asking for the FAQ last night, I knew it was a sort of repeat from last year and grow and throw (liked that term, thanks to whoever came up with it), and yet - I didn't prepare.Was just in a hurry this morning when it hit me - so I planted raspberries (always do bahama fields first), but kept stables etc etc. And I just came home. So very not ready. I'll be stuck in (useless) meetings the rest of the week too so no sneak puffin-it either There is just no consideration from the rest of the world

But I am still going to go for it, I love a challenge and this seems doable anyway at least until proven otherwise. And if I do fail, I'll just hug my trees.

Seems I am very tired and got everything confused on the farm. Planted the event seeds in comfort fields and they can be harvested tomorrow morning. I confused with the carnations & honeydew melon and had to use supergrows for them. And even then the honeydew melons can be harvested only tomorrow. Event crops too only tomorrow. So I am off. No more playing.

I took the chance of bringing my dissatisfaction regarding this event to the attention of all in the General Issues section and the exchange is there for all to review.

In my heart I feel all who wish to do this event participate to the best of their ability under the circumstances. However, I cannot agree with basket buying if one was affected by aspects of this event in this forum. If not, then by all means do so.

I'll review the faqs as presented to our forum later and decide what exactly this farm will try and accomplish. This farm will participate as RL permits and the first 10 junks have been planted.

Lots of poo on the market! I'll be careful for 2-3 days with it but nice profits are not out of the question.

Just got in to find the event on (thanks @FionaSky for the strategy), fields totally unprepared to get best drops, but I'mm going to do it and see how I go using just 3 fields.

 

Ack! I wasn't prepared for this event either... thought we might have one more day to prepare since there was no FAQ out or strategy thread started yet (as of last night when I went to bed anyway). And so today I got up late (slept in), with only short-ish term animal pens out, a few 12 hr trees and luckily SOME spinach ready to harvest... which gave me around 125 drops, and some poop to use lol. Oh well... I need that CR + it's givers, so I dove in and nuked the 10 junks anyway, ripped up pens and trees and now we'll see how it goes. Seems to me with all 5 fields to plant on the crops won't be an issue for me... I just wish I could have prepared my farm like I/we normally try our best to do prior to events and then I could have collected an additional 50-75 drops to start off this event with


Not being able to prepare the farm sure takes the fun out of a much anticipated event tho

Edit... I also was not able to save my daily gifts from yesterday and send more of neighbors drops on the first day of the event like I always try to do. So yah, yet another annoyance/inconvenience all due to the late FAQ

your word choice. Recommendation is to remain "constipated" for at least a day. There is more presently in producing rabbits. With the number of events crops being grown the market will change it appears.

This farm is crop growing with no animals pens out. Nine lots of 100 have been purchased on the market and relisted higher, but not the maximum as the farm normally rides the market up and down turning over again and again and again. Ideally if the plan is to sell poo then I would produce rabbits in order not to do all that harvesting and go back and forth to the computer. The logic is that at the moment, chickens + the poo will not exceed rabbits + poo or even some rare animal+ poo. (badger and/or deer should probably stay out depending on your market and whether you're working the event and as always your personal wishes)

If you plan to buy the chicken feed then it probably is a good idea to buy now or look for the low prices in the next day. How one handles the feed requirement helps determine efficiency if that is a concern. Hope this all makes a little sense.

 

hehehe, it made sense the first time too, but couldn't resist it. I was thinking a bit on wabbits as they fit in better with my schedule atm. Nice to know that I wasn't too far out. The buying of chicken feed that was a really good tip, thank you Easier to store and smell a lot less.
