The event playfield should be available to place the givers and feed the parrots. Placing them on the Magical Glade means that if you want to place them right away you remove something that you are waiting to harvest early or wait before placing the giver -- this is unnecessary if the playfield is made available. The Magical Glade could have also been used to get some regular farming done for a change while the event was running.

As stated before I would prefer to use the playfield for all events but BP apparently disagrees with me.

UPDATE: After doing this event for a while I still do not like that the givers are placed on my Magical Glade instead of the Event Playfield and I also do not like the "Note" and "Please Note" contents in the Event FAQ. There have been plenty of times that an event has ended because I was not available online to finish it; I finally got some sleep; or I just lost track of the event end time because of the numerous events running at the same time. These "Notes" say that the givers receiving for the event to produce bird trinkets will be exchanged at the end of the event and that if I haven't upgraded one of them I will lose them all and can't upgrade them after the event ends. It also says that won't receive bird trinkets if I upgrade them. I think this sucks. At this point in the game I haven't fed any parrots so I may have to wait until the last minute to upgrade my giver and there risk losing it and possibly having worthless upgrades. BP could have easily allowed for an upgrade to be placed on a giver and have it still produce the same amount of bird trinkets.

There does seem to be a chance to get some good prizes though.

    8):)Well, I certainly agree with you, nlm24!!:)

What do we even have the Playfield for if not to USE it?...And what do we have our primary farming fields for if not to f-a-r-m them?!

This event would have been much more enjoyable if we did not have to feed each one: s-i-x(6!!) bird trinkets!
    That's a bit of "overkill" don't you think?!o_O

I agree with the above but even without the "Event" field, why do we have to use specified fields? Why not say that we can grow event crops and place the feeding items on all three main fields? Just not logical to be so specific. :(
I am doing this event but I feel as if I am blindfolded as to whether I will get to the end. Only time will tell. :music:

Even if this event didn't use the event playfield, why does it use the main fields??? These are PARROT events, and PARROTS are bahamarama animals for Pete's sake. This series of events--I'm certainly not going to waste my time providing feedback to each event separately--are overcomplicated and illogical. Milling a giver item is stupid, and having it where you can only place it on one field, and that not even a field that makes sense, is ridiculous. We've gone back to way too many drop items, way too many concurrent events with outrageous requirements and constraints and a game that feels too much like a job. This series is a huge step back in my opinion.

It did take me awhile to figure this event out. Although I still don't really get the upgrade thing.

The first few rewards should be easier to get than 6. The time between planting and reward was too long.

The mill time was too long. You have to log out and then come back in a few hours, then plant it and wait again and even then you have to cycle through the harvest a few time to get any tangible reward.

I kind of like the event with some modifications. Additional modifications would put the milled giver item on any field.

I tend to agree with the above sentiments.

For my farm the drop rate doesn't seem balanced. I've only got one more foodie grounds to make because the corn feed drop rate has been good but the fruit stick drop rate has not been very fruitful. I doubt that I will get enough fruit sticks to get all the upgrades for the simple food gym which is a pity because the caw-some giver looks really good.

It would have been nice to have the glade free for normal farming or whole planting of long crops to build up drops instead of using this space for the many oversized feed givers, and what's up with an hour plus for milling? I don't understand why the rarely used event field wasn't made available to place these feed givers.

The only reason I did this event was for the chinchilla burrow otherwise it would have been yet another non event for me.

Update: Finished....love the final givers! Great job graphics team :)

    Left over drops:

    Corn Feed - 832
    Fruit Sticks - 26

Hmmm........just a tiny imbalance of drops.......NOT and yet it was the corn feed as prizes in the companion quest -.-

I am just glad to see that all of the parrot events/quests end at the same time to avoid confusion.

Unlike a lot of players I have had a really great drop rate, and this event has been easy - but I almost didn't do it, for all of the reasons listed above. Why do we even HAVE an event playfield when it never gets used? Players would be SO much happier if events happened on a special field, and we could use our farms for, you know, farming. Happy players spend money. Unhappy ones leave the game. This is so simple, but apparently no one in charge at BP can understand this concept. I really, really, really detest using the mill to make things for events. It is dumb, senseless, and serves zero purpose. The fact that we had to have SO many of these giver things, which then had horrendously long collection times, and needed SIX trinkets to give to each parrot - why must you ruin what used to be one of my favorite mechanics? I love love love feeding the little characters. I love that we have the option to go on feeding them long after we're "finished". But this way of doing it - it's tedious all around. The only good thing is that the upgraded givers are actually pretty beneficial, so it is worth doing all the upgrades. But - for all the things mentioned in previous messages - this was almost a miss for me. Why make it so hard, so complicated, so difficult to get all the benefits?

As I blunder my way through this event, as there is too much going on to really understand it, I am disheartened by the imbalance of drops. I have evenly produced Simple food gyms and foodie grounds, and I have 521 corn feed and 6 fruit sticks. And wouldn't you know it? My magic trees ( yes they Are being magic this event!) give corn. Hmmph. And we all know how bad drops are from a six hour crop! But I have to make a seemingly endless supply of six hour event crop. Double hmmph. Can I afford to stop making this crop overnight? I think I can but I am not sure. I will, mainly because I need some sleep!
Can you see where I am going with this, BP? Yes it is a mess. Not well thought through.
I hope I am awake when I need to do stuff with these foodie-gymie-groundie things.... (more hymmphing…)

I might be in the minority here but I quite like the more complex events, gives you something to think about. I like that you can pick different strategies to suit your level/real life availability. :):)

I find the alternation between easy and hard events very important:), it gives different level players the chance to finish the events:D. Well done BP for the current Parrot events!:inlove:

Didn't do it. Didn't like what the prizes were for the work involved. Stuck with breeding parrots only.
