  1. Ok.. the new results.
    The owl trees were removed and re-inserted in the same positions to check if the chronological order of placing the pets has an effect.
    All pets were placed in an optimum spatial position according to the list of -Mir85-.

    hmmm is right xD

    I rearranged my pets too, and I also came up short, by around 91,000. Not sure what is going on. Tomorrow evening I will delete all pets and place them again and we'll see what happens then.

  3. I have already deleted them and placed them according to the list.
    We will see tomorrow how things turn out.

    Good going fellow farmers! Thanks for all effort and time you put into this matter, highly appreciated and two thumbs up! Hardly can wait for further news :)

    While you investigate and posted results, having the playground rearranged already, I decided to take out all the 0 EP pets and put them back in. Sure enough it did the trick and I recieved all buff bonusses for the EP givers on using the harvester. As the result only involved 2 extra buff givers it wasn't a real test for the whole field.

    Wish you many good smiles!

  5. :):);)
    The new good results.
    The playground was emptied and all pets were reinserted by the harvester, in a sequence according to the list of -Mir85-.
    Predicted maximum EP was 110,197.

    Thank you :)

    Looks like I need to delete and replace to maximize the EP.

  7. We will need some repetitions of the test to check that the results are consistent, but it's looking good.

    It sure does!

    Desiscion made! As soon as both my ladybug lodges are finished I will tear down all on the playground and replace everything by using the harvester builder.

    Thanks for the information - now need to find time to sort mine out! It seems we are given a nice easy way to harvest all our pets etc on one field but lost out on ep.

    Thank you Mir85 and xristos-al3jandros for testing. I had used the same logic - what would render the largest amount of buff/EP - to harvest my pets but never got to testing. ;)

    I did the first test after replacing my pets, and got exactly the correct amount of EP :inlove: I'll do a few more checks to be sure. Then I'll rearrange them (only moving not deleting) and test again to be sure that it has no effect. Would be nice to have the pet field organized the way I like it.

    It seems to work out nicely. The only inconvenience will be to add more pets. Then one had to work out where on the list it goes, delete the ones that come after and place them anew. But it's a small price to pay :)

    I never use the harvester on all pets at once because it's almost never what I need to do.

    Best order, in my opinion and it's what I do in strict order, manually, is as follows:
    * 0 EPs buffing pets;
    * Lights out;
    * Albino cave;
    * Woodpecker nest;
    * Anti-Doomsday Machine II;
    * Rainbow Magic;
    * Nostalgia Film;
    * Brick House;
    * Viking Longhouse IV;
    * Kitten Caboodle;
    * Pug in the Manger;
    * Ladybug lodge.

    Hi Aluntino :) I am wondering why you think it is better to activate pug in the manger before the ladybug?

    In the opening post I gave my reasoning for doing the opposite:

  15. -Mir85- Good news :).
    I am also continuing to record the results and they remain as predicted.
    I will have some more results to show when I start moving things around.
    On a second stage also selectively deleting to check if I can predict the losses.

    Aluntino is following a sequence of collecting the pets from lowest EP to highest EP.
    There is a logic in that also. It's more easy to follow, especially if you intend to do it manually.
    But your method also takes into account the comparative %EP gain between successive pets in the list and results to higher EP gains.

    Because I empirically noticed it maximizes the total EP output per plot/pet. Ladybug has a much higher EP-yield per plot (1 plot).
    Tonight I'll switch them and see what happens. I'm quite sure it'll yield to some loss on Ladybug but I'll see if that switch offsets that loss with the gain on Pug in the Manger.

    It will :) BTW, in these calculations the EP per/plot doesn't matter, only total EP from the pet (and of course the EP buff).

    I made my list by comparing two and two pets, but that's a bit awkward. So now i worked out a number that one can sort them by, to make the optimal list. The number is EP/B, where EP is the basic EP from the pet, and B is the EP buff from the pet. Sort from lowest to highest. Some examples:

    • Owl, 0EP, 10% EP buff
      • EP/B = 0/10 = 0
    • Lights out, 850EP, +30% EP buff
      • EP/B = 850/30 = 28.3
    • Brick house, 4000EP, +100% EP buff
      • EP/B = 4000/100 = 40
    • Albino cave, 1000EP, +20% EP buff
      • EP/B = 1000/20 = 50
    Lets say we have two pets, for example a cat and a dog. To tell the numbers apart we use lower case ep and b for the cat and upper case EP and B for the dog.

    Suppose the number we sort after is smaller for the cat, i.e. ep/b < EP/B.
    That implies that ep*B < EP*b.

    The number ep*B is the buff from the dog applied to the cat pet, that's the bonus we get by first activating dog then cat. But this number is smaller then the other bonus EP*b which is the buff from the cat applied to the dog pet. Therefore it is better to activate the cat before the dog. The optimal list is therefor sorted from lowest to highest EP/B number.

  20. It was good of you to come out with the idea in the first place 8)
    When more space is given in the playground the difference between best and random placement will make a big difference.
    Even now, with limited space, the differences between best and worst placements are quite impressive.
