I always assumed you had to buy the PJ and CAC recipes with BBs, but now I'm not sure after reading some old threads (some posts seem to imply you have to purchase these, another suggests you get them at level 4 in the confectionery). I have the confectionery -- although I've only recently started level 2.

Question: Do you eventually get PJ and/or CAC recipes at a later level for free, or do you have to purchase them no matter what?

You have to purchase them, but you have to be level 4 for the cac. For the Pj it's available for sale from L1 confectionery. When there's a 50% sale in the city shop, the recipes are also on sale.

Once upon a time, in a time very ancient at least the cac was won as a reward in an event. Later it's only been available in the shop.

Don't forget to consume your 5 a day, and best of luck!

*note to self, go to artisan village*

??? You'll have to explain this one for me. Still new to many things. 5 a day of what (and why)?

And thanks for the reply. Seems a little unfair that you have to work so hard to level up in the artisan shops, and yet still have to buy the good recipes.

I meant use 5 products a day to level up, instead of just making goods to level up. If you go to the confectionery choose a goods on the shelf there's a little icon with a factory on the item menu that will convert the product into tradepoints. The amount of tradepoints (TP) you receive equals the TP gained by producing the item base item excluded.

It may seem unfair, but it is a one time spending. BP needs to make money somehow, they don't work for free (neither do I so I totally understand that). And it's not the only way of getting either cac or PJ. If it had been then it would have been unfair. I saw you mentioning few films in the cinema in another thread, just like to point out there's a lot of countries that doesn't have a working cinema. Sad but true. Fingers crossed the numbers will increase :)

Thanks for the info on the shelf items and TP -- I wasn't aware of that.

p.s. I understand they don't work for free. I have a background in marketing, and I'm sure they make plenty on their virtual event baskets, etc. My spending limit on a game like this is what I'd pay for something similar in a store.

I wasn't suggesting they work for free. It's just a very long, slow process to level up in the artisan's shops -- and yet many, if not most with value, of the recipes have to be purchased. That was my only point - not suggesting everything should be free. :)

:D It really helps. And when you reach level 3 you can make base chutneys so when you reach level 4 and the cinema has spoiled your with moves you can start your own cac production. I can picture you humming along the puttering cac pot :music:

haha! I'm sure I will be! Thank you again for the tip. Should move along a little faster now.

...now I just have to wait for one of those 50% sales. ;)
