Do you know what I did today morning before going to work today morning. Milled glass of water and then the mill button became grey. SO went and refilled the tank and came back. Then only I realised I was short not only of the water but honeydew melon too - I had 0 honeydew melon xD. Thought I will be back by evening and that I might start with the grace 5 seeds again. But since I did not use the 5 grace seed facility not even once in this event, within 10 mins or so I got 5 and I sowed them and went to work. Now waiting for the seeds to multiply to 350 to finish the event. Hope my calculation is correct.:p

    On market already ?

Really, you don't need to do that. Place any price.
Ten is not my market, broke. Sad about that. But in a way that's good. You won't know about my bad marketing.:p

Such a good poem with lots of simile and depth. Full of hidden potential, stand so straight and true.... youth and hidden potential I am sure know one would have thought about carrot in this aspect and of course the comparison with iceberg too.

We bestow you the 'best poem of this week' Award and bestow the opal & diamond pendant as the memoir. :D It has C on both side, see. C for Cool and C for Carrot.:p

I have taken your warning to my heart 8);)

and will concentrate on stocking up of bats and who knows when it might get a neon pen.;)

    @gaura

You seem to be getting the knack of doing event and playing the game too. All the best.

A piece of advise : You can give farmer_broke any number of loans for any number of time. But on CAC, you should be cautious;) If you have any doubt ask pnpxD

By the time I finished composing this post, my event crops have grown and ready for harvest. So off to my farm

psst, 12ss12, that is more of an Opal necklace than a Diamond one. Very pretty though. :)

I don't know if BP just started this with this event, but now when you use up your water in the mill (or at least as much as possible for what you're milling), you don't have to exit the mill, visit the water tank, re-enter the mill anymore. Just start milling however much you can, then instead of exiting mill, go to next spot in mill queue, choose product (water glass, or PF), and there is a blue + beside the water drop ingredient, you can now buy directly while still in the mill!:D:inlove: Hopefully this improvement sticks around, I know it's one that's been requested repeatedly.:)

Just finished, my event strategy is quite relaxed :p

I don't like to tear up my farm for an event, and I very rarely do, last time was for the Septemberfest. The trees and stalls that I want to have out permanently are in the rainforest and magical glade and they stay during events. On the other three fields I usually grow crops (because I like that better than animal farming). So for events I don't have to tear anything up, just grow event crops instead of regular crops. I have even stopped with the drop preparation (unless it's drops from trees/stables only). I used to plant a long crop, for instance broccoli (never carnation - it is so cheap to buy in the market, don't want to waste farm time growing it). But I found I always end up with extra drops anyway, so it is not necessary, I'd rather grow a normal overnight crop + for instance crop circle or another mid length crop. So very little preparation needed for an event.

During the event I grow event crops on the three free fields. This time I only did two rounds a day, then chicken/parrot & poo farming in the evening. Didn't bother with the Howies, too much work and not needed (I use them a lot during events like the fishing ones where more drops = more prizes, then they are worth the extra work). Overnight I grow whatever fits. A good thing about taking it slow with the crops is that I don't have to wait around for drops so much, this event I had all the drops needed before I finished growing the crops.

An approach like this of course only works if you have no trouble with drops, crops and usually finish events early. Is is also not for those who are impatient to finish ;) But for me it has turned out to be a very good way to play an event. I don't get tired of all the events because I don't put a lot of effort into them, sometimes they are more relaxing than regular farming, since I don't have to decide what to plant, what to work on next and so on, just plant event crops and log out (log out o_O who am I kidding xD). There is no right or wrong way to play, and what is best for you depends on so many things, I just wanted to share my way.

Well, I sure messed up this time around! I was so worried about the big number of melons needed that I sorta got on automatic and grew way too many. Good news is I did get the cloud row but because I didn't switch as soon as I could to longer term crops I'll be sort of straws to finish everything. Just when I thought I had the hang of it...wanders off to lick wounds.

Another event is winding down, and I've been contemplating all the posts here in the strategy thread. Many of us finished, some of us slower than others, but still managed to complete or will complete the tasks set out for us. Many of our younger farmers struggled, and we strove to help them work and plan and maximize their farming techniques so they could get as far in the event as they wanted. I love that about this community, that we are so willing to help those who need it:inlove:. I feel for the farmers who feel such frustration, trying to follow the steps and advice we provide, but feeling like they're not really getting anywhere if they can't succeed in finishing. I felt compelled to send a message to all these, to encourage them not to give up. It's easy for the higher level players to say, don't worry, you'll get there, because we are there. There isn't a farmer amongst us, tho, who hasn't dealt with the same struggle and frustration, who doesn't know exactly what you're experiencing, and that's why we try so hard to help, to encourage, and to let you know you're not alone and you will succeed, even if it takes a while. The fact that you ask for help, and try to apply the lessons supplied, shows that you have the ability, you just need to have patience. It will come. I also want to caution you to not get so caught up in finishing the race that it becomes an endurance marathon rather than a nice jog thru the park. Focusing too much on what you're NOT accomplishing can and will suck the fun out of the entire game experience, so try not to rush from point A to point B too much, rather enjoy the process of getting there. I found a song I think sums it up rather nicely, I'll put it at the end of this post:music:. Congratulations to everyone, those who finished all, those who finished some, and those who may not get as far as they would like, but got somewhere, because they tried.

Now, without further ado, some inspiration brought to us from the street named Sesame, and by the letter "P" (for Perseverance;)).

    Keep On Trying

When you want to do something that's new
And it seems really, really hard to do
You feel like quitting, you feel you're through
Well I have some advice for you

    Don't give up
    Keep on trying
    You're gonna make it
    I ain't lying
Don't give up, don't ever quit
Try and try and you can do it
    Don't give up, yeah

If you want to catch a ball
But you're having no luck at all
The ball hits your head, it hits your nose
It hits your belly, your chin and toes
Well, try and try and try again
Keep on trying until the end
You put your hands out in the air
    You'll catch the ball
    Yes this I swear
    Keep on going
    You're on a boat
    So keep on rowing
Don't give up, don't ever stop
Try and try and you'll come out on top
    Don't give up

    You got yourself rollerskates
    You put them on
    And you feel great
    You stand up
Then you fall, don't think you can skate at all
You get back up, then you trip
You skip and tip and slip, and flip
You try and try and try some more
Soon you're skating across the floor

Don't give up, keep on moving
You're gonna get there, just keep on grooving
Don't give up, don't pack it in
Try and try, and you'll win
Don't give up, no no no
Don't give up, no no no
Don't give up, no no no
    Don't give up, no no
    Don't give up!

This event's going to end in about and hour and 10mins or so... for those of you with extra melons and straws left over don't forget to mill them up into glasses of water so you can cash in on the extra CCs (and EP), if you have an opening in your mill! :music:

    * What will happen with the leftover event goods?
All the leftover goods will be exchanged after the event:
    • 1 Honeydew Melon = 3 EP + 3 CC;
    • 1 Drinking Straw = 5 EP + 5 CC;
    • 1 Glass of Water = 420 EP + 1015 CC. <~~~ :D !!!

    Hi 12ss12:)
Real life has overrun the farm and I haven't been online much and not at all in the forum. I am just doing a little reading to catch up on what I missed. I know it seems odd to read a strategy thread for an event that is over. I'm off again but hope to return later today.
I hope everyone has a great day!:)

Well, wound up at the end with 65 left/ 70 right. All giver items and the cloud row if I ever get that open. I had personal crises take over much of yesterday, so this is especially good. I managed to get on right before everything ended and the drops were good with a trophy drag involved. Have been mostly laying low today.

@spotsbox, Thank you for posting the most thoughtful and caring post!:inlove: It is so true, play the game, but have fun doing it! If you don't finish this time take the lesson learned and apply it to the next event.:p Just don't give up and don't let it get to the point where it is no longer fun for you!;)
