I've created a couple of puzzles involving numbers and maths.

These puzzles are for fun and entertainment but you'll earn a point by being the first fellow player who posts a correct solution.
Once a solution is posted and it's the same as yours, please DO NOT post as there's no need for 10 posts with the same answer and you won't get a point anyways.
At times multiple solutions are possible, then do post yours if it's different from the previous one(s). If correct you'll get 0.5 point.
When a puzzle is solved I'll post a new one along with the points listing, whenever I'm ready for it (no fixed dates or times). If there are no correct entries I'll post a solution and a new puzzle.

Rewards (handed out only if you wish so):
3 points = Carrot Apple Chutney or Pinkie Pie Pie
5 points = Any Artisan (crafting) product of your choice

After reaching 3 points you'll have to skip the next round
    *Edit*
After reaching 5 points you'll have to skip the next 2 rounds before your points are reset.

I plan to start the game sometime on Tuesday, june 11. This forum game will run till july 31.

I hope these general rules are clear but do post right away if you have any question or comment about the above!

    Game #1

Solve the puzzle by replacing the ? with the numbers 1 to 9, using each number once.

None of the math marks prevail over the other, calculation is done in the presented order.

    ?? * ?? - ? / ? + ??? = 377

Getting closer, but not quite there :p

    (36 * 18 - 4 )/ 7 + 295 = 387

Yup, it's a good start. Ofcourse now I'm eager to hint how close you are but other than the obvious - see original post, there are no brackets used in this math - I can't say more. Confident you'll get there.

If it is not bracketed like I did, it must be (?? * ??) - (? / ?) + ??? = 377, or? This is the normal calculation order with multiplication and division taking the priority before addition and subtraction. Then I'm confused about what you mean by:

Thanks for asking! I tried to say the order is = (??) * (??) - (?) / (?) + (???) = 377. So, straight forward calc, nothing takes priority. I'm very sorry if I, my wording, confused you or anyone else. Didn't mean to! Hope tiis post makes clear.

With the use of brackets it would be (((?? * ??) - (?)) / (?)) + (???) but that seemed to over complicate the task.

A few more tries, but no better :wuerg:

    (36 * 19 - 4 )/ 8 + 275 = 360

    (43 * 19 - 7 )/ 6 + 258 = 393

    Hint -example-: (5 * 6 - 4 ) = 10 but , as required, (5) * (6) - (4) = 26

Sorry what? (5*6-4)=26, never 10. The only way you get 10 is if you do 5*(6-4).

My calculations are with the brackets you provided, I just removed the superfluous ones.

o_Opsie .. you're so very right! That was a bad, very bad, awefull hint. Shame on me! I take the blame.

*goes hiding under blankets, wishing you good luck on getting it solved. I know you eventually will get it.

P.S. I'll grant you an extra point.

Is the answer of 377 a whole number or a decimal rounded off? (i.e. 376.77)

Ok, thanks habalala. I did try the brain teaser and haven't found the winning combination as the closest I can get it to is 376.77xD I love math puzzles and wish whoever is still working on it all the best of luck solving it.
