    Mir-
    Doing a puzzle, or working on a puzzle. But the way you said it was perfect, because your sentence can be taken three different ways! :D That's what is so great about language...a sentence can be unintentionally ambiguous, with hilarious results:

    1. Teddy is puzzling (verb), as in working on a jigsaw puzzle
    2. Teddy is puzzling (verb), as in trying to figure out the answer to a problem
    3. Teddy is puzzling (adjective), as in Teddy herself is a perplexing, bewildering, hard-to-understand bear xD
