It's asking me for 3 million as a first donation...I'm guessing that is not normal? I'd donated 7000+ before I'd realised what an obscene and impossible amount was being asked of me.

Advise please.

For the XL Pool, the maximum amount of goods that can be delivered in one go is 3,000,000 Barn value of goods.
Each try of the XL Pool requires 90 Batteries and uses 300,000 barn value of goods, so technically speaking, if you fill the Alien machine to it's maximum amount, you get 10 tries from those goods, providing you also have enough batteries.
It is advisable not to fill the machine unless you are sure you will have enough batteries to use the products donated to the machine as these are not returned to inventory once event ends.

Yes, as that doesn't help at all.

It is ONLY asking me to deposit 3m in items. There are NO other options. I have 97 batteries and it is not giving me ANY option to use any of them.
I don't want to put in that many items, I don't even have that many items. From looking at the event faq it seems like a glitch as to what I am seeing, or not seeing as the case may be. Surely there should be levels of what I want/need to submit?

 

You do not need to donate the whole 3,000,000 at once to play the XL Pool. Click on the deposit tab and donate the amount required until you have donated at least 300,000 worth of goods to play 1 round.
