Bless them, our 2 mods are already doing more than their share of work, without the added stress of putting together FAQs with the sometimes sketchy info they are given. I wish there was a standard FAQ to be posted across all forums. Giving everyone the same info is really the only way to be fair.

Kessari, you did really well-- 144 coins! :) I only had 100 coins saved up from all the previous events combined.

This event has been so much better than the others. (Rewards wise, I mean. The timing of it is terrible.) I was able to get the Candy Row giver, the new cloud row, and still have 75 coins in savings. Really pleased with that. :inlove:

I've made it to 5 XL tries .. 90, 60, 90. 24 and 30 coins so far. Wishing I'll be able to do a few more to get the top prize too. Drops doesn't seem to match the short time given for doing this event. Oh well.. it's fun chasing goals, isn't? :)

It'd be great if there was a single FAQ that was simply translated into different languages but I'm not holding my breath. I've learned to not rely solely on the English FAQ and I try to cross-check the info given with the FAQs from at least two other forums when possible.

    @Kessari

I did find it odd that the giver for the Candy Surprise cloud row wasn't offered in the Firefly Festival event. But you don't have to participate in this event if you don't want to, just to get the giver. The Shop-O-Rama is separate from the Recycl-o-Mat event and won't disappear after the event ends. The giver will probably stay in the shop for several months and we'll probably have another opportunity to earn more farm coins before it's removed.

It's just that most of the events offering farm coins so far have been barn burners like the Recycl-o-Mat, only with much less generous rewards.

Take a look at what we had to pay for farm coins in The Fruit Market event. :wuerg:

Then there's the previous edition of the Recycl-o-Mat event where we mostly got EP/TEP/CC - so not worth it. It's much easier to get those farm coins this time around.

Btw, I always found the star flowers to be kind of useless, even for a low-level farmer, since they only give 5 CC per hour. Sure, it's not bad for a 4-hour crop but most regular crops higher than rosemary would provide equal or greater value.

Pumpkins will give 7.5 CC per hour, for example.

However, roses are probably the best option, as they give a little over 10 CC per hour, which would allow you to effectively double your efficiency with less effort. ;)

It did end up much easier to get the giver item than I had anticipated. I had 10 farm coins coming into this Recycl-o-mat event, I'm guessing from the previous one. So, while I gave pretty much what I could this time, and I'm unhappy with several aspects of how it was done, I'm alright with the end result. If I hadn't finished growing all my glowberries for the Firefly event though, I think the story would be very different; as it is I still need just over 100 of the flasks for the final lantern, so I'm concentrating on those still.

I hadn't thought about the CC per hour when it comes to grow time, I've only been looking at the value per each when it comes to the donations, so that's something I'll have to plan for the next Recycl-o-mat event; thank goodness they seem to be every couple of months rather than every month. I've been sticking with refined blueberries for event drops; they played nice and I was able to get all the time related refinements fairly quickly (relatively speaking!), and I've found the event drop rate to be decent for the most part. I've tried roses - both for refining and event drops - and I've had so-so luck with event drops from them, and no luck at all with the refinements. I haven't given up on them, but I need to grow more.

I appreciate all the info and it's so awesome that everyone is friendly and happy to help each other out. :inlove: It's such a wonderful change from the often overly toxic MMO communities I frequent.

I must be thick, but i do not understand this game. i am supposed to deliver 3.000.000 in value, but that is impossible with star flowers at value 20 and not much else in my stock :(

crops, there are other things you can donate: mainland crops, mainland animals, workshop items from both mainland and baha, and the event crops. First thing I bought was the giver for the CR (had leftover coins:p) Hit the jackpot for the XL pool + 78 more coins so I'm going for the BB's this time. Get the CR next time;):music::D

Congrats on getting the giver! :D

The exchange value (EV) is more important if you've grown (or bought) the crops ahead of time and they're already in the barn, but if you're trying to grow crops for donation purposes while the event is running, it's best to look at which crops will give you the most CC per hour in order to maximize your EV output in the limited time frame.

That is, unless drops are an issue, in which case, you'll want to focus on crops with longer growing times. Refined blueberries aren't a bad choice during the day, since the two time reduction refinements should get the time down to 6:22 with water - even less if you have the water refinements and use manure and buffs (e.g., Mandrake Powder and Aroma of Love) - allowing you to harvest twice a day. If you need more than 6 hours of sleep, however, it's better to use longer crops overnight in order to minimize idle time on the farm between harvests.

It's a pain to get the refinements for "instant" roses but they're worth it as they have the best SG refinements in the game.

If you're out of roses, you can sell your blueberries on the market to earn some CC which you can then use to buy the roses you need. Right now on my market, blueberries are being sold for 266 CC per unit, whereas roses are being sold for 166 CC per unit - a difference of 100 CC. Why not take advantage of that?
