Refinery Slots

Are the refinery slots that you can buy with BB's worth getting?

 

I suggest using the slots you have first. If you find that you need more slots then open up one at a time. I have all 6 opened.
Currently have 3 for carnations. I use the others as needed.

Refinements take a long time to get and you have to wait 24 hrs if you remove one for it to no longer be active.
So 24 hrs later your new one will kick into effect.

I try to keep one open - I like instant gratification when I add a refinement.
Add one - Remove one from another slot.

 

I personally think they are worth the 300 BB (is it still?) they cost. For me they make a big difference - I don't have to plan 24 h ahead and can adjust to whatever they throw at us. That being said I've had the same refinements in 5 slots for ages:



For drops I use raspberries: Early Bloomer I and III + Water love, which reduces growing time from 17.48 to 10.23 with water. Perfect overnight crop for me.

When, on the odd occasion the above doesn't deliver or more likely I've been busy with RL I use the insta-finished crops to gain a drop for every seed planted. This is still magic to me and I'm surprised every time I hit the SG button and poof! a whole field is ready, like I said magic and very handy when you need it. That's why I keep one crop with a "SG love" active all the time, this is the most important refinement! Lately I've coupled it with Drooper Wood hammer - 1000% better chance of receiving a wooden mallet.

This leaves me with one free slot that I can use for 24 hours, grow what I need ( I mostly use it for shortening growing time) and then switch to something else.

So answer is yes invest!

 

Ah, Hatzva, you inspired me to refine some Irises, because I want instant gratification. My Carnations still take about 45 - 90 minutes deeping on buffs and the position of Moon in relationship to Mars and Venus.

I went to do some refining since I have 9K of Irises. Low & behold, I can't! BP is doing maintenance on the refinery.

Now I have to rely on my memory to try again later so I too can have instant gratification. HaHaHa

BTW, what are you doing with all those hammers?

 

this makes a lot of sense.

Refining can be very rewarding, but is also very costly in terms of gobbling up crops like a kid in an ice-cream shop.
So, can you spare the crops?
And are the refinements meaningful? (a 1.88% time reduction on wheat equates to 11 seconds saved!)

Set minimum crop levels that you need for replanting. I use 588 as this is the number of 1x1 squares on the three main fields.
I hope the redevelopment of the refinery means that tropical crops are to be included as I have most of the meaningful time reduction refinements. It took about two years.

 

sglick - it's the Wooden mallets I'm after! Every upgrade of a manufactury/menagerie requires a whole load!!

david- I never ever do any refinements on page 1. What's the point?!
Hazelnut on page 2 is my first crop that have all refinements.

I started out my refining in the hope of cutting down time of long time crops. Hazel being a 14 h crop has been my "lowest" refined crop.
Lately I've found that some of the refinements I have are extremely useful; like !000% chance of Wooden mallet.

Expensive, yes it is but the rewards are huge + I hope with the new remake it'll be even more fun!!
