Refining Iris' as I type this.

I was planning on roses, but I have a lot of Iris' from overnight crops for the event, so went with those for now. We'll see what I get (used middle pots).

Good luck to you, too, gardengal! May the early bloomers be with you. :)

Hi @hatzeva Like jazzy22, I'm tackling the refinery as well. One thing I'm still unclear on about the early bloomer: is it achieved in the refinery or after harvesting something you've refined? Thanks!

When you plant something with it's early bloomer refinery selected/enabled in a slot of your refinery, you will see the reduced early bloomer time reduction effect immediately. :)

Whatever you get and if you want it to work you will have to activate it.... it is NOT auto..

Green house is to choose and refine plants...
Plant refinery is where you activate such crops you have refined... you have 4 free slots

If all is used and you made a new refinery and you want to add that.... you will have to remove one of the 4 you have in there.... it takes 24 hours to be remove for free.Yes while timer is counting down to be removed it is still active on that refinery slot you clicked remove on. you can use BB's and make it faster..

Its been asked in this thread so since i am here i will repeat the answers in another way... You can refine all plants you have in your green house and get all the refinements from it.... NONE will be activated till you goto the Plant refinery tab and add them. So keep all refinements you get when you get them.... you activate what you want...

Hi @Jazac Yes, I understand you have to activate refinements you chose to keep under the plant refinery tab. I'm just trying to figure out this early bloomer business. :) Is the "early bloomer" one of the choices you can add/activate in the refinery or is it something you receive after harvesting refined crops from your field? That's what I'm trying to understand. It has been described as an award so I'm confused about it. (Sorry I sound so stupid about this lol.) Thanks!!

    Hi gardengal --

You can keep any refinement you get from a search (in the greenhouse tab). You then activate it in the Plant Refinery tab -- choose from those refinements you have. So keep them all -- no matter what you get from a search. Just because you keep them, doesn't mean you have to activate them -- so you could end up with all refinements for all crops if you wanted to (that's a lot of searches!), but only use the 4 you want activated in the free slots (or 6 if you're willing to pay BBs for 2 more slots).

The Early bloomer is the 'clock' refinement shown in the choices (reduces time growth for that specific crop). So if you get that refinement from your search, you keep it (and you should keep all refinements). Then, to activate it so it applies to the crop, you'll need to take up one of your free spots in the Plant Refinery. When you plant your roses (for example) where you've activated the EB refinement in a free slot, it will be a lesser growth time when you plant.

You can keep as many refinements from your search as you like (all), but you can only activate 4 of them at a time (they can be different refinements for different crops -- or all 4 can apply to one crop). If you want to change one of your 4 to something else, there's a waiting period before the new activation takes place.

Did that answer what you're looking for?

p.s. I know it's confusing -- it's hard to understand how it all works until you start doing it. :)

@jazzy22 I just needed to understand about the early bloomer only. Thank you for explaining that it is indeed an option in the greenhouse and refinery and not an award you win after planting and harvesting refined crops. Since it had been described as an award from a few different farmers, I was confused about it. Not their fault at all, mine for not comprehending properly. :)

    I tend to be long-winded -- I have this habit of over-clarifying. :p;):)8)

Good luck -- hope you get it soon!

Hi gardengal, I'll try to explain using my favorite crop, raspberries.

    * first I grow tons of them, refining a crop is expensive as you need lots

    * when I have a lot, lets say 1500 rasberries (can't remember the exact amount) I invest/"plant" these 1500 into the Large Greenhouse. I always use the Large Greenhouse. You can invest 300 using the small or 600 using the medium Greenhouse, but I've found that using the large is by far cheaper in the end.

    * the large Greenhouse has 3 cycles. First ready after 6 h, 2nd after 8h and 3rd after 12h. Small will only have one cycle taking 6 h and medium 2 cycles, 6 and 8 h.

    * most of the time but very far from always I'll recieve a "Refinement for my rasberries.

    * all Refinements for a certain crop has 3 stages: Level 1: easy to get but doesn't give that much advantage, level 2 better advantages but harder to obtain, and nr 3 excellent pro's but also some negative influences, like less ep and use more water. and quite rare to get.

I have to go to bed, working early tomorrow. I'll continue tomorrow. ;)

Ok lets try this.... I will tackle each with the color.... for EB only..

    Yes
No - you can not get EB from your farm... only in the green house where you refine plants.
Maybe you misread or they may have used wrong choice of words... or maybe i am missing something here too...lol

Did this help? Don't worry about sounding stupid.... There is no stupid questions...Sometimes I have a hard time asking things. Or maybe lack of understanding things... we are human and we can only handle what we read... sometimes it just takes someone who can reword things for some people to understand... So please i have been there... i am still there.. and many many farmers in this forum is there with us on this...If you don't understand... you keep asking...PERIOD... we will always find a way for you and others to understand....but in case of me... well yall will have to help me....lol me cant help myself....

i am too sometimes ... lol

xDxDxD I'm so there. I hate adding a . after each sentence, but want to make sure everybody knows I'm done talking xDxD

Ofc I am going to muddle things up. Why make a simple yes or no answer when you can use them both? Yes you have to activate them in the refinery, but when they are in those slots they work on your farm. Until you remove then and use the slots for something else. Edit: as far as I know.

I love questions, usually a wise farmer steps up and share their knowledge. That's a pretty magic moment really.

Yes, that's right but there is also a "cool down" time if you want to change the refinement which I find really annoying. You can't simply delete, for instance, a Rose refinement to put in a Carnation refinement. You delete the Rose and then have to wait 24 hours. I have usually forgotten what I was doing with it in the first place. Hence why I have been working on refinements for ages but rarely use them! :p

yup, me in a nutshell. So I probably shouldn't waste crop on doing them. They are very likely not to be used.

Let me in on this Topic. Firstly want to say Refinement is not the only option to reduce crop times. As it will take some considerable amount of time to gain the refinements you are seeking. At times you may get lucky, at other times may take a fair while to get the refinement you are seeking.

Sometime is so frustrating not able to get it. As you need to understand and learn to master the concept of refinements and use them correctly and effective as possible. Now why i say refinement is not the only option to reduce crop times such as Early Bloomer. As there is alternative method is to use Deluxe Fruit Mixer in Bahami Spa. You can win either 10% or 20% Crop reduction on Grains, Other Crops, Flowers or Vegetables. It does not require any crops to get this buff effect or that does more or less the same effect.

The downside to refinements to limited to certain crops. As certainly cannot be used with any Tropical Crops at all !! There are no refinements at all on all the newer Crops at levels beyond 98 Deluxe Fruit Mixer can be benefited from any Crop on your Farm. Also you can enhanced Buff Effect even further by means of using Alchemist Buffs or 4%/6% or Combined on Grains, Other Crops,Flowers or Vegetables.

The second downside to refinements is the Plant Refinery only has 4 free slots, Slots 5 and 6 has to be unlocked using BB. Any refinement is locked in for at least 24 hours, But it can only be used on a certain crop.

Now let me bring the Early Bloomer Refinement to your attention as some of the crops has two EB Refinements. The one on left side has no negative effect. But the 2nd Early Bloomer does have negative effect. Might have to use 2nd EB to compensate the negative effect.

If you really want to be very effective farm such as me i would do a combined effort of Refinements, Alchemist Buffs 4%/6% plus Deluxe Fruit Mixer that make huge difference in crop times ;)

Some of Crop Refinements has Water Love Refinement which is by far more effective than early bloomer. For Example Lady's Bedstraw Water love gives 60% effective on Water + EB of 20% if you add Deluxe Fruit Mixer and Alchemist Buff too This would give much shorter Turnaround of Drops too during normal farming or doing events for those who not got enough Super Grow. All you need is water or manure when it is cheap.

My Strongest Advice if you win an Refinement.....Always....Always Accept it even it not the refinement you are hoping for...Why (It helps you narrow down the chance to get the refinement you are seeking) :);)
