Regarding event drops

    I need a bit of input from players with a decent grasp on the way event drops work. If I understand correctly the drop chances are based on the maturing time of the items. I'll specify that I am exploring a case based on workshops although I don't think it makes any difference.

    Can someone tell me if I'm correct in assuming the following:
    if my base workshop matures in 24h and it's orange upgrade takes only 16h BUT i'm only able to harvest once every 24h then I'm better off using the base workshop during the event for better drops, otherwise I'm wasting the 8h difference.

    Thank you in advance for your input and I apologize if the answer is too obvious for a thread (I feel like it is) but it's just one of those days when the simplest and most reasonable things elude my brain.
