This really hit home for me when I briefly tried running a second farm. On this farm, which I grew more or less in the traditional, non-effective way I think many players try, it took me a few months to get up to just level 30. I remember seeing several events (after I knew there was such a think.. so probably more than that), back when they were less frequent, in which I could not participate. In my second farm, I grew chickens, etc, selling and buying the next level and I boosted myself up to over 30 in a week. I was able to not just play, but complete the event that was running then. (cannot remember which one, but it was a difficult one).

Right now, any investment in cows and horses will pay for itself quickly, far more than any other crop or item. In my market, just as an example, horses are selling for 1400 each. That means you can more than pay for the pen in just 2 cycles.

One other thing, (and this is not my own idea, it came from others here in the strategy forum, though I cannot remember who to credit) If not doing events (or when event finished) -- If I had to do it over, I would forget the breeding quests initially and instead work on trying to get orange pens. I would use only the "excess" (the nice surprises of animals that are higher than you need, etc.). These double your production but still use the same feed. Pink stables (giving 3 each, would be even better, but those are very, very "expensive"). Oh... but be warned, workshops are different. Orange workshops generally just speed up production, they don't give you bonus products.

Remember, look to the future.

Ok so strategy question here. I've got 20 stables each of cows and horses and currently have 51 horses and 111 cows. Cows are selling for 1550cc each and horses at 1900cc each currently in my market.

Does it make the most sense to sell what stock I have to buy more stables to try to produce more stock?

 

I would be boosting that cc balance - prices will reduce drastically after the event ends and everyone puts their stables out to reboost stocks - during BBDay my market usually hits a new high on the first day as players burn through their stock during the breeding. But it depends how poor you are!

 

maybe breed what stock you have for higher animals? to complete quests or for better returns on cc's depending what your market dictates for breed cows and horses. there are a few options, you need to decide what is in your best interest at this specific time. no right or wrong.

 

I had more horses than I thought I did, must have used yesterdays number for that, at 75. I decided to sell 30 of each and with that I bought an additional 10 stables for each and I'm still up over 40k from the transaction.

And just asking, trying to get facts ready for next time, Let's say I make too many normie animals, would it not be better to "make" as many event animals and then sell them in that coloured animal area?
I read you may get better skips without keeping them.

I don't fully understand the above, do you guys with 20+ stalls make the levels of coloured animals that fast? I found the quest <meaning I figured out what it is> for turkeys, you need two art turkeys to get that pallet maker stall or pen, so is this so?


I just found that sell coloured animals area, the prices floored me.
And, needy I be, Would it be better to have a hundred of each normal animal in inventory? Due to time may have to let pens sit till I get home for normal animals, so may not be able to make as needed think it will work?

And thanks to all of you, I just this event figured out how you do animals and crops..... I been watching my crop room die... run one or the other... man I think slow...
Thanx to the one that "suggested" to delete things not used. Only took a day to sink in.

 

In this event, because people must breed to get the baby animals, you would be better off selling the extra normal animals. It is also easier to sell them if you are low on CCs as you must pay the 10% fee. (Cheaper animal, lower CCs for fees.) Once you get more CCs, it is up to you if you wish to sell the colored breeding animals.

As far as the workshop to produce palettes from turkeys, you build a Paint Factory in the Workshop in the Village. To build the workshop, you need to have enough tools. You cannot buy workshops. You do not need the artisan turkeys to build the base workshop. You only need colored turkeys to build workshop upgrades. These vary, with the artisan turkeys needed for a pink upgrade. (Keep scrolling if you haven't seen the base workshop.)

Breeding events are on a little bit of a curve for me.
Upgrades.... ok I confused two different things again, I figured since you had to make colored animals anyway you could kill two birds here and have extra layin around, so you could fill in the regular quest from a events as this, and get the stall, here it's an upgrade.

Will slink away now.

I am happy I got some stalls and paid for them as suggested here with animal sales doing happy dance.
