Same name -- someone is getting my messages (and possibly gifts?)

I have not received a message in all the time I have been playing. Apparently, puppiesnponies discovered there is a player with my same name at level 2 (I'm level 71 at the moment). Her message was going to the wrong jazzy22 -- and that is who is getting my messages (and possibly gifts from those who are not already neighbours). See discussion here:

How is possible that someone else has my game name? Does it not reject that name if it is taken? Could someone please tell me how to resolve this a.s.a.p.

ETA: She just tried to reply to an IGM I sent her as a test -- I did not get the response. I'm guessing the level 2 player did. I was also expecting a gift I never received -- it's quite possible that went to the other player as well.

p.s. If this level 2 player is inactive, is it possible to delete the player? I'd really like to resolve this so I can communicate with my neighbours and other players.

I received an email from support telling me the other player has been disabled. It was a level 2 player who has been inactive for years and years. It appears I can now receive messages and gifts.
