Santapalooza: SantaCon 2014 Strategy

Mooboy, I also find out I got more present than hats.
So, I will send my neighbors hats until I they ask me to send the other type.

those ask for FAQ inadvance maybe newbies. they don't know that how lucky
to get FAQ 1 days before. Usually it's just hrs before event start.
I think they should first get accustomed to check monthly calender time by time
Then they will know what event will go ahead. Or check : headquarter
"Event" section everyday to see if new event come out, & most important. the
starting time (CET time) Those will help farmer to plan ahead their farming.

 

During the last year the FAQs has usually been posted 20-24 hours before event start with exceptions in both directions

 

Well, with 24 hours into the event here are my results so far:
Level 1 Silver task: done
Level 2 Silver Task: done
Level 3 Silver task: done
I've got enough Chicken (level 1) and Sheep (level 3) to complete both gold and diamond tasks. I've got enough horses for the Cheese Factory. By the end of this afternoon I'll have enough Rabbits (level 2) to complete the gold task. And by tomorrow I'll have enough cows (level 4) too to complete the Gold task.
With the help from several players (for which I'm truly grateful and I hope to be able to return the favor someday!) I think I'll have enough Jutes to complete both the silver and gold tasks from level 1 upto and including level 5 and the silver task from level 6.
The real challenge will be the hats for all the silver tasks (and hopefully all gold tasks up to and including level 5), since my trophies aren't that high yet (8% and 3%).

My renewed goal is to complete all silver and gold tasks upto and including level 5. A bonus would be the silver task from level 6. Since my level isn't high enough yet for fish, I expect I won't be able to complete the gold task from that level.
Although the diamond levels have very intersting rewards, I don't think I'll be able to complete them all, but we'll see.
Focus:
1. All Silver tasks upto and including level 5
2. Gold task level 5
3. Other gold tasks upto and including level 5
Bonus: Silver task level 6, Diamond levels upto and including level 5

I noticed the same as Mooboy regarding the drops, so I'll be sending the hats for now as gifts.

It is only a fairly recent thing that FAQs are issued BEFORE an event starts ... I see many farmers here who will remember those tense moments just before the start time!

Have I grown the right crops, have I got enough animals, how long will the event crops take, will there be more than one event crop? What will the prizes be? Can I wait? Can I sleep?

illy - I definitely remember what it was like.."in the old days" when we didn't get the faq until event had started!!!

I always got surprised by the events itself. But maybe, not having found the forums (at that time) was the problem.


We need more presents. That could be the reason for dropping more of them.

 

I have completed Task One, Task Two, and only one part on Task Three.
I need one Santa Hat to move onto part two of Task Three.

 

Yesterday I had more presents than hats and today more hats than presents! So far done silver of level 1 and 2, all of 3 and silver and gold of level 4. Working out to be nice and leisurely especially as I'm using one field as an "increase the drops" field.

 

Oh,TCRooster, you got hat more than presents for Day 2 !
But I keep on getting presents more than hats, each time I harvest,I look at the
total pop up & there always shown I got more present than hat.
Uptill now I had 330 hats but 390 present.
last night I plant Hazelnuts for overnight crop. one of disadvabntage of 6hr event crops is it's not good for overnight crop. So, I keep enough qty for next day
morning planting & donated all jute.
I decided to get the cloud row first, I had done LV1 to LV4 Silver
LV5 diamond just need 695 jute.

 

So far I have completed all the silver levels and am half of level 6 gold. At the moment I am getting more Holiday Presents than Santa Hats.

 

My farm update... Need 4926 jutes, 429 santa hats, and 478 holiday presents to go to complete whole event quests.. I'm using island for "increasing drop items" field, and I'm on right schedule.. So far, I got more holiday presents than santa hats. And the drops rate is good enough.. I like this way and I really enjoyed this event..


illy - I agree with you. When we have an event & it overlaps with MM (or other mini-event else) for 1 hours, The event FAQs should be released 2 days before the event starts.. We need to prepare our farm and the event requirements..
Same as Brookeham said, it is much better than "in old days" event... btw your SOS thread helps many lower level farmers to complete the events, I really appreciate it


BlazingBlades aka DarlingDaizy - you can find CAC in the market if you are not at level 4 Confectionery and being at level 40 player, the price of CAC is very cheaper than usual nowadays. You can find less from 45000 each (2 months ago was 65000 each).


Bhodho - please do not quit from the game even though you will run out your premium benefits later.
If you can remember, I was one of the graduates of your mentoring nest. I will miss you.

I did all the silver levels..went straight to the cheese factory. Then took the cloud row. Now working on getting those PF (diamond). Then will try to get the EP giver one by one. Good Luck all!

 

My Farm Update I finally got all the Jutes I need for this Event.

So far got 543 Holiday Presents and 435 Santa Huts.....No Matter How I play this Game seem to be getting more Holiday Presents than Santa Hats....so still need to get 257 Holiday Presents and 265 Santa Hats

It seems most of us are getting Holiday Presents than Santa Hats. So still ask my Neighbours to send Santa Hats....

SillyGuy I am an Event Machine lol...As i am already a Role Model Farmers for those who still learning the Game...what make me so annoying that I cannot be a Mentor and The Mentoring System is seriously Flawed...

Anyway I got the lovely Chestnut King in my Shipwreck i will find out how effective it is to me giving me 100% Bahm Crop EP...??

I just finished up with my jute plants as well. Still need 207 Santa hats and 238 Holiday presents.
My wonderful neighbors have been sending the Santa hats and now I can get back to normal farming the rest should be no problem.

Well RL...
Lots of lost farming time due to appt and big storm. The good news is the power failure happened after I had my test done at the hospital. So... all is good! That will cost me EP and drops. But there is still lots of time to finish the event. So I don't care. I have more than half the drops. So not worried. When I got home around 5p I was tired so instead of planting event crop and waiting up for it, I planted carnations. Enjoyed dinner and 2h of Survivor before nodding off. lol

I don't send event drops as gifts. My neighbors, like me, are upper level players and prefer something useful like sugar or elixir for gifts. Occasionally, if an event looks particularly challenging one neighbor will request event drops. And end up not needing them. As pointed out by another player... we're getting more presents because we need more presents than hats.

I only managed one round of jute yesterday. After my last? post and while lying in bed waiting for sleep... it occurred to me I didn't need to stress about the crops. At 93h into the game, less than half of elapsed time, 72h will be half way thru the event. So I'm only going to plant two rounds of event crops for the duration. With long crops at night.

Normally on Baha I have Baha crops but due to the comments about elephants and manure I decided to grow them. They have roughly the same time as event crops. And I'm not going to login more often than that.

Illy... rumor has it there is an alternate universe outside of The Game. I tried it yesterday. It wasn't a lot of fun. Except for watching TV and sleeping. lol

EDIT: BTW I've never bought the event pkgs.

 

Needing Level 5 Diamond and all of Level 6 to finish. I don't have to reiterate that the Santa Hats are harder to come by...
but I just did. I went with Aluntino's suggestion to skip Lvl 1 and 2 Gold and Diamond until later.
I am using just two fields and CAC.
I used the old Nuking Event Seedlings thread to quickly get all my seedlings since I used to buy some of the event packages. But the Grinch is taking over...

 

Still need to do L5 G&D, L6D waiting on drops and one more harvest of jute, then it's back to regular farming and long term crops
