The FAQ is a bit confusing. I checked the Spanish FAQ and it is referring to the milled item as a package of balls, as well. So, for 30 blossoms and 15 bobbles you get 15 regular balls, and from 60 blossoms, 30 bobbles and 8 golden leaf you get 15 premium balls. That means only 5 minutes of mill time for 15 tries. That's definitely a lot better than how I originally understood it to be.

Thank you poppy! That does help a lot! Now I feel much more excited about this event. Let's hope the targets are not hard to hit and we get a good variety with the 2 coins. I like the PF as a prize and the trees/stables. I like the idea of a cloud row but 3? I think it would have been better to have the items be upgraded and the cloud row be purchased just once. The classic EP givers I already have except the Bavarian bears. Those were given in 2012 shortly after I started playing. I did not get the cloud row or the bears so no worries about a gray row. I need to put the cloud row items into my spreadsheet to see which ones (if any) would be good additions to the Bay to replace any lower giver.

    Who will get the sticker?xD

I don't talk about premium ball (golden one) as it need double of your drops.

So, conservative strategy, Get 3 CR you need to try 1500 shot, Mill 100 blue ball package.

However, if one thought their reaction is good enough & computer is fast, internet working
good as well as BP server don't get anything wrong suddenly!
Actually, only 60 blue ball package could get 3 CR, add around/maybe 10% missing target
then Mill 70 blue ball package will be min. requirement.

But if those put more interest on the Miscellaneous rewards(wonder stables & trees).
They are 160-220 coins. You may want to get them first before thinking to get all 3 CR or
just one of them. Prepare to mill more balls. is a MUST !

I think this is the time we will not surprise to find we got hundreds of drops when initial harvest
of your trees & crops. :p

Actucally, if after well planning. I mean full of trees & long hr crops. The first harvest could not
    yield 800-1000 drops (tree +crops) .
So, BP is very harsh on drops & this is really a hard event!
We need to have preparation. Chose what prize you really want. That's very important when
using your coins to exchange prize!
You know, one could only get 20 gift from neighbor, 6 day only could give you 120 drops max!
compare to the massive no of drops need for this event. Try own effort to increase drop is a
    MUST!

    Edit: reply to uggi-buggi
Gold leaf come from gold leaf tree (a wonder tree from the past) if you had
not get this one. you could only buy from market as there is no way to send
you one from those old player like me which got quite a bit on hand)

Oh! Duh! I know what it is now...the tree with the face! I have some of them, but don't put them out as they're so creepy looking!o_O
Perhaps I'll hide them behind a fence or something for the event....

I've seen a lot of excellent advice and some really helpful information about strategies, but, unless I've missed it, which is entirely possible, I haven't seen any conversation about which crops to plant during the event to maximize drops.

Is there a growth period that will help increase drops, i.e., 8 hours, or longer get many more drops than less than 8 hours? Obviously, the longer the growth time of the crop the more drops, but there has to be a point of minimizing returns, where you would be better off growing multiple crops rather then one 17 hour crop. I welcome any and all thoughts about this. Thank you very much.

Your longest crop Doc, Myself I will plant carnations or another long crop and make sure I water and use manure. general strategy thread would be good to read on this subject also.. I am pretty sure mir linked it on page 1

Thank you. I've read that thread several times and it is very well done and extremely informative, but it seems like, judging by my daily experience, I would be better off with a couple of crops a day rather than one that takes all day, even with water and manure. I just thought maybe there is a magic time you need to shoot for. I'll go back and re-read that thread.

LOL I feel the same way! I hide mine behind an XXL Elderberry tree which covers it completely. xD

For those considering buying one don't forget there will be a half price sale starting at the same time of the event. If you can wait you can save a bit of BB's. You probably have some turbo mulch lying about that you can use to jump start the tree once you get it.

@Doc425 I usually grow anything longer than 4 hours during the day and then put in a really long term crop for the overnight. I time it to match up with my trees so I get one really big harvest first thing. It seems to work for me. I don't usually get more than one or two drops for a whole field of 1x1's with the less than 4 hour crops. Getting 5 to 10 drops a couple of times during the day is not bad as long as you have the time to harvest your fields as soon as they are ready. If you can only harvest once or twice a day then it's better to plant something long term. The biggest trick is not having any lost time on the turn over, so use whatever will fit into your schedule best.

I don't have to do much to set up for this other than take out my stables/workshops as I do a lot of tree farming already. My tree obsession if finally paying off. ;)

There is going to be a half-price sale on Thursday/Friday. I think the gold-leaf tree will be included - so that's great timing if you don't have one. The gold leaves were all sold out in my market within the hour of the event FAQ posting. I think it will be hard to harvest enough gold leaves to make it worth buying a tree just the event though. However, you do need gold leaves for several other things as well

    Doc,

Not so obviously for this specific event.

Though it's impossible to know what crops duration range will ensure maximization in event's drops yields for any specific event -though it does exist one for each event, that's certain, but we don't know it-, it can be safely said that this range varies as a function of the event's drop rate, which at its turn is varied from event to event by the development team. Therefore, it's more of a trial and error process to guess what works better for each event.

My advice would be: the longest crops you have, deployed in 1x1s, ready to be harvested at event start (since no one has the crystal ball of what the event's drop rate will be); afterwards, whatever you wish, always in 1x1s. During the day, while you know you'll be around, my advice would be to plant whatever you wish/need but getting sure that you never leave the non-barren lands idle ("idle": with nothing planted, or with a ripe crop sitting there, waiting to be harvested). Overnight, whatever fits your schedule. I generally get good results with crops in the 9-13 hs base time, but, again, it depends on the event-specific drop rate developers will set.

However, I can also safely guess that, being this event one requiring such a high level of daily crops-related event drop (blossoms), most probably, rather short-ish crops will do a better job -the longest ones most probably will exceed the unknown probable event's drop yield, transforming the remaining time, as regards event's drops, into somewhat similar to "idleness"-. In other words, plant whatever, not too long, during the day, never leaving non-barren fields idle; overnight, plant long enough but not too long crops. How enough? Well, I bet 9/10 hours base time crops -or lower- will do the best job overnight if you harvest them on the dot and re-plant whatever you wish/need. But that's a bet, based on what I'm smelling....

    Oh my puppies brain!

I so did not want to open another farm-.-
But it seems the cosmic gwads did not like that ACME black hole I sent them and took my green flash decoder ring away, so no way to get on the forums.

But when you gots a big mouth, some buds, and a mean chicken peck typing it will take more than no accesses shut down of two other farm tries:eek: I have no right to get on my 1st 3 tries..... but here I be I :inlove: Mir85's work, as always gotta lov them math brains! Now where be SillyGuy........

Oh and in case you haven't guessed 100keltic bows to you all.

I see now we have duck shoot. My random thought of the day is if a refined item holds it's EP/drop increase as longer the item the more you get, why is this not true for a upgrade of a tree?:(

Thanks Mir for Info how to get best start to this event as we be needing to grow trees and crops to acquire as many field bwobbles and festival blossom as possible I would put out any super trees that you have as I have 60 of them placed in my fields I also surround them with 20 hour trees but if I was you I would put out as many high so trees that you have as it makes all the difference with the drops once the event has started I will put out all of dsl trees that I have plus all cork trees and chestnut trees as they are 12 hour trees which us sane as xxl trees will put round the edge of my fields it is more effective to use refined crops some crop have effective manure refinement only worth using if manure is cheap to use

I got you at "big mouth" keltic xD no, just kidding, I guessed before that ;) great to see you by the way :inlove:

I am actually not sure jumbo trees are that great, they take up 4 plots, but can not give more than 1 drop. With a high drop rate you might do better with regular trees.

    AKA keltic

xDOh we know the truth, you have had to deal with so many of my huh moments you "feel" the headache coming days before I come!

I missed the forums, just watching was hard.

I never knew them big trees gave so little wow.
I was thinking on regulars too, if a 20 hour tree gives more it's messed up the XL/XXL don't give the drops more as crops do once you refine them. I may not have a chestnut row, but it helps having them refined all the same.
Getting the XXL/XL is slow to do, it should work the same, it was one of them run by thoughts, not important just thinking and yes it still hurts to do:p

Just my observational take on the tree/drop debate. I pretty much always have trees out during events and not just a few but many. From what I've observed it's not so much about the time but about the tree level. For example both a regular plum and maple sap take 20 hours but I get more drops with greater frequency from the maple trees than I do from the plum. Rare trees fall into the high end with drop rates and I've not noticed any difference in having XXL or XL trees. The advantage to either of them is more the time rather than an increase in drops overall.

Again just my observation take it for what it's worth. :)

I agree: the higher the level of the tree, the better the drops. But, obviously, given a tree, the same one, XLs tend to yield more drops than plain ones, and XXLs more than XLs.

EDIT: I've just taken a 2nd look at the FAQ. I now think drop rates will not be especially good. I suppose their idea is that a player gets one CR, not the 3 of them. If that's the case, then it's for sure the longest crops will most probably be the best bets.
