From my initial harvest of only trees I got the following lens counts. I've swapped all my trees out for crops on both fields of all three farms now.

Farm1:
RF -- 47
Island -- 55
Farm2:
RF -- 44
Island -- 53
Farm3:
RF -- 38
Island -- 36

All three farms have 30% LL rune. The trees were planted at the end of the last event with the intention of leaving them until the next event that required the use of the Tropical lands. Didn't last as long as intended. The trees were selected for TEP and were mostly 12h. The trees were NOT selected for drops.

Now I have to get ready for my 5th? eye doc appt in two months. Then there's the audiologist appts...

 

229 cameras and 137 objectives here from saguaro and trees, and a few misc. pens. I've moved all my pens but one to the Falls, but am oh so loathe to chop down my trees . If I need to, I will, but definitely will put it off as long as possible.

I know I'm missing something, my tired brain just can't figure it out. Can anyone tell me how to get these? I'm sure I'll smack myself in the head, but just not firing on all cylinders this morning.

Suzee, good luck with your appointments. I know how much I hate doctor visits, for any reason, so I hope for you speedy visits with good news.

 

Do you mean the Cameras? Or the Souvenir Photos? Cameras are drops, Souvenir Photos will be available after all the other donations are made. But Cameras will reduce the six hours for the Souvenir Photos by one hour for each donated - six Cameras will give an instant Souvenir Photo (would that be an Instamatic? ). So to get 30 Souvenir Photos instantly, we need another 180 Cameras.

 

I think I meant the cameras, illy. I know we get them as drops, but my mind kept thinking you were saying we could get 180 immediately from somewhere. Too little sleep, too much RL, not enough caffeine.

Actually fun2farm it's 40 high quality cameras! There are two 20 high quality camera donations required.
Just won +1 crop for 6 hrs then the 100% harvest bonus for 24 hrs. WooHoo! I'll knock out those event crops ASAP
Then just the drops, Saguaro gave great drops to start event, so a couple of rounds should do it!

I planted Cilantro last night in the two fields and my drops now stand at 320 Cameras and 218 Objectives in less than 24 hours. I am happy with that. I will concentrate on getting all the crops then plant longer crops or return to animals depending how the drops pan out in the end.

 

I am only waiting for 200 objectives to finish level 5. I asked my neighbours to gift me objectives as I could see from the first 2 harvests that the drop rate was a lot less than for cameras.

 

I planted a 15h crop overnight, w/ buffs.

Farm1: each field gleaned cameras in the 80s.
Farm2: each field gleaned cameras in the 70s
Farm3: gleaned cameras in the 70s & 80s.
I'm going to continue to plant long crops at night and event crops during the day.
(EDIT:
I noticed that the drop rate was low enough for event crops that one can use large, 2x2, plots. But the high number for longer crops emphasizes the benefit of smaller plots for overnight drops. If one doesn't have Farm Machinery, one might do pretty well with medium, 1x2, plots for manual harvesting.)

Illy keeps telling us she's no good at math but her posts suggest otherwise.

This is a nice quiet event. I'm enjoying the "rest".

You're sweet, spots. My eyes have been hinky lately. I'm developing the problems my parents and grandparents had. I was hoping to stave all that off for another 30y. By then I will have lived longer than any of them and I'll probably be too old to care... But I think it's too much puter time. New treatments are available for me that wasn't available to them decades ago, when the time comes... All indications are that I'm pre- everything now. Plus I got new eyeglasses and was having problems with them so I had to be retested and new lenses made. Yesterday's tests show everything is stable, for now.

For the crops I used 2 (out of 20) charges from the Jack O' Gift giver I bought prior to the last MM. Very pleased with it as it works like an extra CAC, giving +2 on all crops on all regular playfields for 10 hrs per charge. So I got 6 event crops per 1x1 plot (2 regular + 2 CAC +2 Jack). Being a giver it doesn't require a buff slot and when placed outside the pet playground it can be harvested whenever it's needed.

Just bought a 2nd Jack O' Gift from the givers pack offers. Might come handy in the future (or when my current one runs out of charges)

Keep going, this event is very doable for everyone.

PS. Sorry for advertising BP items for cash but had to share the enjoyable in game benefit. I too would like to see more buff slots become available for use instead..

 

Looking at the game from the perspective of people who have trouble finishing events despite not being newbies...
I feel it's important to mention these types of things not apologize for them. I don't see these types of comments as advertising, bragging, etc I see them as statement of fact. Status of one's farm and available resources has a lot to do with when/how one finishes an event.
Think of it this way... someone can't afford to spend much money or doesn't have much time to spend mulling over various strategies or all of this is new and overwhelming to them or... whatever... So instead of recognizing that you are willing/able to spend real money on the game they sit there thinking they are incompetent, stupid, etc.
I've seen too many posts from players wondering why they struggle to finish events without a clue. That is why I feel it's important to let them know I have a 30% LL rune and I rarely (can't remember when I last bought drops, baskets, etc.) spend money on the game other than Farm Machinery.
I also feel that early finishers have an obligation to those that struggle with the game to let them know how they did it. I know you spend RM on the game, I'm glad someone can afford to pay to keep the lights on. I figured your early finish had something to do with that. I wasn't aware of that particular buff, I don't bother reading those offers to avoid being tempted to spend money I need/want for other things.

I concur, Suzee, if you can afford to and choose to spend real money on the game, there's nothing to apologize for. Those who buy the offers allow those who can't the ability to play the game too, just at a different pace. I have 2 +2 buffs in storage (won one last event, can't remember where there other came from ), and have seriously been considering using one of them. I got the 100% harvest on the wheel this morning, so am happily harvesting 6 already (tho I did manage to notice I let my CAC run out - after I'd just harvested ), and am in no real rush to finish quickly. My only thought is RL has been just absolutely nuts the last few weeks, and doesn't show any signs of letting up any time soon, so maybe I should go ahead and get the crops out of the way as quickly as possible and concentrate on drops. Don't want to miss out on that gazelle.

Suzee, I'm glad to hear your appointment went well. I just started wearing "cheaters" about 2 years ago, which I don't mind, except I always forget to take them with me when I go somewhere, lol. Small print and low light kill me, I can't read things at all in low light. Was told I have the markers for macular degeneration, may get it, may not, but last checkup showed no progression, so right now things look good. Oh the joys of aging.

Oh, and for overnight crops, don't forget chayote with a tiki timer and water takes it from 15 hrs to about 9 (less if you have the other Baha vegetable buffs to use). I got reasonable drops from that this morning, tho don't remember what exactly. I've finished the 1st room, and am 5 high quality cameras from getting the CR - decided to get the CR then go for the givers.

 

Drops like not very good. I had mill 30 high quality camera,
Now I had 135camera, 78 objectives.
So, this morning I plant saguaro,
Happy that I get a +100% for 24 hr, so after I harvest saguaro.
I still had some bonus time left for event crop.
Hope Can finished 5 lv and then start collect the photos.

I had 29% LL rune, a howie donated on rune and then also 2 CR buff(1 for baha only) that
+5% drop rate every 48hr)

 

Completed the event and got the Gazelle.

I got 665 cameras/437 objectives from habenero, manufactories etc. and and the event crops overnight over the 3 days, it seems decent so far. Is it really only 700 cameras? its seems too small after the thousands we had to have last event.
