something is wrong with mitten drops

I just harvested my 3 fields, on 1 field I did not receive a single mitten drop, ice flowers were planted 1x1 fields, on another I rec'd 1 mitten drop. That field was also planted ice flowers in 1x1's plots. can someone check on this?

I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced rather low drop rates from 2 of you fields, but as the drop rate is only a chance of drops, rather than a fixed amount this is quite possible.
Did you happen to have trophies on the fields when you harvested?
Did you have a full field of event crops?

 

I didn't have trophies in either field and I did have trees planted along the edges of the fields. but when on my small farm I don't have machinery so I plant 2x2 fields there, also have trees planted along the edges of the fields, no trophies & I get more drops from the same crop, something is off.

Just harvested again, same set up, 1st field rec'd 7 mitten drops & the 2nd field rec'd 4 mitten drops.

1x1s or 2x2s make no difference to drop rate. As you say harvesting again got you 7 & 4, with 1 & 0 for the first time just shows the randomness of the drops.
I'm afraid that looks perfectly normal to me, these crops don't have particularly high drop rates.
