I enjoyed this laid back event! The rewards were fantastic!!!:inlove: My favorites were the pink cat pen and the extra set of givers(which give excellent EP's)!!! It was nice to have small & many levels to continue to donate to and receive an award each time! This is much more fun instead of saving it all up to the end of the event.
The flower crops are beautiful(wish we could keep them). :p

This event started out great - I was contributing different crops and tree fruit, making pots, etc. and moving along quite nicely. But that was false hope. I have completed 98 levels and am now stuck, waiting for drops. I need 30 on one side and 100 on the other to move on, but am only getting a max of about 20 drops per harvest!!! BP - this has been a recurrent complaint and you seem to not care about fixing it. I refuse to buy drops to finish an event, but am very frustrated that I cannot finish them lately!!

A few years ago I was finishing just about every event after working hard to get all the things that would help with drops; things that now seem to not make a difference. As was pointed out last event by a player having more than one farm, the drop rate is not consistent between farms - making this game unfair.

Something that has contributed to the drop rate problem is the outlandish amounts of drops needed to mill event items. Really, 20 drops for one pot!!!! Then you ask for up to 5 pots for one level - that's 100 drops with a low drop rate of around 20 per harvest (for me) even with long overnight crops, statutes at 100%, Howie sitting on fields, magic trees. etc.

I finally become a mentor several months ago (after waiting about 2 years or more), and my chicks have dropped out by the time they have been assigned to me. I have only had one go beyond level 3 or 4, and that one dropped out around level 50. It's problems like this drop situation that makes new players go running. Problems like these that I did not experience when I first started playing. BP, you have changed this game for the worse!!!! The only reason I am still here is that I feel like I have a lot invested in my farm, but I fear my investment is going to go bankrupt soon if things don't change BACK to the better!

It baffles me why the game designers don't share what the drop rate is based on. There is obviously a lot of confusion about it. Some think it is base rate (time) of the crops, some think it is EP. Some think the products that increase EP will increase the drop rate. Obviously the designers think it is a better game leaving us in the dark, but given the clear level of frustration, I suspect they are incorrect.

I try to get the high EP upgrades from the quests specifically because I think it helps me win future quests by increasing the amount of EP I can generate. I also use products to increase my drop rate. The moonlight madness required I dip into my supergrow to win. However, part of the reason was perhaps, I couldn't get a boost from the XXL large tree, and the high value animal upgrades, which I suspect help me win quests.

  4. Update to the drop issue. Yesterday, because I finally had enough of both event crops, I switched (as I always do) to my usual trees and stables. Normal average harvest for three full fields of event crops - 20. Today with only half the trees and stables harvested - I got 108.
In a couple of hours I will probably harvest the rest and get yet another bumper crop of drops.

My issue isn't with the drop rate, it's with the absymally low drop rate for event crops - 4 hour crocus yielded one drop in a full field, two fields of lilies yielded 18 drops in total (not even each) overnight. Yet, a field of trees and stables brings forth 35 drops for just half. As event crops are essential, and the drops are required in quite large numbers for 4, 5 and 6 pots, then they should have a higher rate.

I spend enough hard cash on this game, I have a harvester almost permanently, I buy BBs for purchases; however, I refuse to buy the baskets, since the only items I need are the drops. The drops are relatively expensive in the shop and again, I won't buy them just to finish an event, especially as it requires far too many to compensate for the low drops (I want the choice of what I spend my money on, not dependent on the whims of the developers).

The drops have been reduced in recent events, this is not a perception - it's experience.

Now, I'm off to lunch with my son for Mother's Day. Have a great one everyone.

Now that I have completed the event I'll add my personal feedback.

As usual, the design was wonderful. Both Pink Crocus, and Spring Lilies looked nice. I specifically enjoyed the Easter Egg design for the newly seeded Spring Lilies and the backdrop once inside the event donation page. The event itself was easy to access from both the town and the side panel. The event was also very easy to understand -- Grow multiple event crops, collect multiple event drops, and gather/grow a random assortment of normal crops and tree fruit. I like that we were given a longer crop to use for the event, as this allows players to better work the crops around their busy schedules. The drop rate was generous, as is reflected by the many players who have completed this event with ample time to spare. The prizes were also quite generous, multiple Wonder Stables, Wonder Trees, Golden Bananas and a Pink Cat Kennel!

I have three criticisms. The first being event crops, the second being the exchange rate for unused event items, and third, the capped event. Event crops are limiting and frustrating as they are not flexible to a farmers needs outside of the game. If players were allowed/required to grow normal event crops then they could choose best which crop would benefit them the most without having to lose out on idle time. The country coins rewarded during exchange are absurdly low. I suggest removing the tiny amount of EP they provide during exchange and increasing the CC to more reflect the value of an equivalent normal crop. Finally, an event which causes players to collect drops but doesn't allow them to use them all is lacking. I'd like to see more events be open ended and include a way to reward farmers for going above and beyond.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the event and look forward to participating in future events.

Events like this should NOT be a challenge for established farms, based on collecting drops!!! These events should be a REWARD to us farmers, without having to stress over drops. Shame on you BP... with every event lately you are chasing off more and more farms/players, GET A CLUE!

If the drops don't get any better ...then i am off to find another game ...I have now had just about enough of the amount of drops I am getting lately NOT just this event
It's no fun or a challenge knowing you aren't going to make the amount needed after sitting here daily since the start of the event

I have needed to make 3 pots all day and the drops aren't dropping to let me make these...I have wasted a whole day trying all different crops and am still trying
have tried nearly every crop in my inventory
I like a challenge ... but this goes beyond that
Have just got 2 from a field of blackberries yipeeeexD now i am down to making one ...i have bought the rest ...I cannot sit here any longer

I have to respectfully disagree. Events literally exist to challenge established farms. After all, what else do players have to do once they've completed all FSQ's and unlocked all the runes and statues? Events. Furthermore, BP does not force anyone to play in any event. Events are additional content in which participation is voluntary. There are clearly players who are breezing through these events with ease. The primary difference between players complaining and players succeeding is quite simply attitude. Players who succeed realize that these events are here for the challenge and they make the adjustments to their farm and complete the event. Players who are complaining have done very little to understand how and why they are failing and instead choose to blame development and BP for their failures.

  10. I disagree Decree - we don't all have the time to spend doing nothing other than harvesting or waiting for it (over a seven day period). I have a life outside this game and I prefer not to dedicate my life and time to it. Additionally, events do not 'literally' exist to challenge established, new or mid-range players; they are there for several reasons and one of those is to add some fun to the game and give some extras for players' time, efforts and in many cases their hard-earned cash.

I also dispute your 'it's just attitude' - you have no idea what other players' attitudes are, nor their motivation for the event. You are actually blaming the players for the low drops, because they apparently don't understand how to do it, based apparently on your having completed it. Put quite simply that's tosh, complete and utter tosh. Don't attribute your assumptions to others, especially myself. No, we aren't forced to do it, but we have every right - yes right - to complain about what we feel is a serious issue.

Maybe you spend a lot of money on extras such as the supergrow and Suzi; maybe you purchase baskets and extra drops, maybe you sit at the computer and harvest all day and night - I haven't a clue and wouldn't presume to judge your ability to complete the event, based merely on whether you have the right attitude. However, I don't like being told by some anonymous player - who knows absolutely nothing about me or others - that I and they have the wrong attitude.

There is nothing one can do if one doesn't get the drops (apart from purchasing them in one way or another) - attitude won't make more drops.

As you can tell I'm not exactly enamoured with your response, but since I don't know you, am responding to only to your post.

ps: Thanks Nellie, was a lovely lunch and we were able to sit in the sun - bonus.

Decree - have you even read the responses in this thread. Nearly all complain about the drop rate. It also has been noted previously that a player with multiple farms, farming under the exact same conditions, got different drop rates on the farms. That certainly has nothing to do with attitude or not taking the time to figure out the challenge!!!!! And where are you getting that the drop rate was "generous as reflected by the many players who have completed with ample time to spare"? Certainly not from this feedback thread!

Happy mother's day to those celebrating now; you gave me quite the scare since in California we celebrate it in May! Don't want to forget my mom on that day! =)

    Well said HoppalongCassidy ;)

    Decree... you respectfully dissagree? Ha!

You can only assume that my farm's low drop rate is due to failure on my part, yet you have no idea the amount of time and effort that I've put into my farm to get it to the point where it can comfortably complete events. You also have no idea the lengths I have gone to in my attempts to increase my event drop rate. This farm is at level 96 mainland, level 308 on baha, 29% LL... I can assure you I didn't get my farm here by having the wrong attitude, by failing to put in an honest effort, by failing to make adjustments to my farm or by failing to prep my fields for events lol :).

With numerous high level/long time farmers leaving negative feedback event after event lately about struggling for drops regardless of using every buff and refinement possible, then obviously there is a problem unrelated to anyone's attitude.

By all means, leave all the positive feedback you feel BP deserves, you have every right to do so if that's how you feel... but there's absolutely no need to single out and insult those of us that feel differently than you do and/or are having a different experience with this game than you are.

I returned with a GREAT "attitude" and have played my heart out!!! I actually made two $$ purchases, which I have regret and remorse for doing so.

This event is equally, no, more disappointing than the previous. The drop rate is shameful.

I have been away from the game for a while and only just recently came back. During the last event I had to ask for help through the SOS thread....even though I had ALL day to farm away (due to down time from surgery) I still couldn't finish the event...This event is turning out to be the same.

Perhaps those that have "breezed" through this and most events are those that have a supporting bank account to pay their way through events.....or perhaps they breeze through events because they have all day to sit at their computers to play and play and play. Although I have had the time to play all day latey, I don't believe the breezers are successfu that way, from my experience...just saying.

I won't be able to play like I have been for the past month...and this event has ensured that I will be tearing up my farm once again. I will come back for the next G&T and give my prized possessions away to the farmers that actually helped me during the last event.

I’ve had some time to review my previous post, and to reflect upon its responses. I want to thank you for the time, energy, and certainly the restraint that went into those responses. Most importantly I want to apologize to the community.

I will not try to provide any excuse for previous post. I can only say that it stemmed from the frustration that more people were dissatisfied with the event, and weren’t able to complete it – because I want you all to complete the events. It’s been the driving force for why I provide my own personal strategies for completing events, and why I am consistently studying the game and sharing my insights with the community.

Regretfully, my previous post became a gross misrepresentation of who I am, and the appreciation I have for this community.

I tend to study game designs, game engines, game mechanics, and theory. It was these factors that led me to disagree with the common complaint. Regretfully, I did not convey this in a constructive manner, and as @Nellie_Noodles (thank you) clearly pointed out, it manifested as a personal attack, which is abominable behavior and was not my intention. I must realize that I have also been critical of what I believe to be development flaws, and while they are not the common complaint, they do support what @HoppalongCassidy (thank you too) was so kind enough to remind me of, which my post lacked, that the game needs to consider the variety of players we have here as well as their situations away from their time spent playing this game.

I can be very hard on myself when I make mistakes, and this mistake was a complete disaster. I am asking for forgiveness on the merit that I have a history of trying to be a helpful and productive member of the community, and we all sometimes put our foot in our mouth for reasons beyond our own understanding. My hope is to continue pushing forward to learn more about the game and how it functions, and will continue to provide my discoveries and strategies in the future so that all players may be able to complete events, as well as answer questions and provide helpful tips. It is my pleasure to be helpful and not destructive, and my hope that we (and I) can move past this.

I enjoyed the event and was pleased with the prizes, especially the Pink Cat. xD I love the cloud rows with crates.

I am a level 99 player and still struggled to get the drops, just finished the event with a few hours to go.
The drop rate was poor again. :(
    Why! :(

  18. Brakenjan84

I'm 99% sure I won't be able to finish the event but at least I was able to get the CR, givers and the Pink Cat Kennel. My wonder stables and trees were generous (an axolotl!! :inlove:) and I've got the extra Squirt Joy. With four hours left, I will be able to get the six plant pots needed for the four party spins but that's about it, the next item where event drops are required on the right side, I'm fairly sure I won't have enough. (Left side is done)

My farm is Level 85 with LL only at 21% so even though the drop rate wasn't good, it was enough to get the most necessary items I needed (plus I have time to harvest as needed, without the farm being idle).

All in all a good event with nice prizes, the drop rate could have been better, however.

@Decree, thank you for seeing that your previous post felt as a personal attack, and thank you for explaining that this is not what you wanted to achieve.
    Apology accepted.

I too struggled with drops, with every possibility done. (LL full, 10 howies, etc etc...)

I also wanted to leave another bit of feedback. The tiny arrows, ... next time, perhaps make them flash until we've clicked on them?! As I only noticed them AFTER finishing the event!!! And those little windows would've been rather helpful, had I actually spotted them!!!

    Did anyone else miss this?

farmingfreebird -- I missed the arrows as well.

My big complaint is, again, about the drops -- from a long time player with multiple howies, etc. Its becoming pretty clear that this is no longer a fun, FREE, game. Maybe folks who are willing to give up their real lives can still do so.

Its not that these events are "challenging", its that they are just plain rigged. Setting events that required us to spend all day at the computer was bad enough when they came one a month or so, but now that events are constant.. its just too much.

Too many events, events not thought out enough (intermixed with some nicely done ones) and events that require money to complete. I get that you need to make money, but a big part of what made this game fun, and made many of us spend money was the community, the kind and helpful spirit from a bunch of people just here to have fun, face challenges -- without feeling we were being taken hostage. For many reasons, even though some people still remain, that overall spirit is gone or highly diminished. Many of us have said it before, but when it become necessary to spend money to play -- most of us just won't, even though when not forced we might actually spend.
