I joined Farmerama to play a FARM game ...what is this IT certainly Isn't that

 

Well I'm good on crops - this planting should give me all I need on this farm. The other farm went back to planting regular stuff yesterday. Problem is drops. The speakers and the wires for this farm, speakers for the other farm. Phooey. May have to plunk down some trees and stables just to get this one finished.

 

176 speakers and I will be finished.

I really should have stayed focused on that first. The final speakers are for the key to the CR.

This should be not a problem for a mix farmer like me if I could used baha till event end.
But..........
Now there is a baha event held on 1st Oct , which I need to make
preparation on 30th Sept.
Worst is that baha event drops only come from crop which mean All my tree on
Baha main farm had to delete and also re-arrange my crystal fall as it is full of
Trees and stables!
Also It mean I need to make movement for my main farm to get more space
for tree growing.....
Well, that's BP style of game..
Farmers should not be accustomed with what you plan. There always had
some unexpectation

 

I have all the crops necessary, need about 150 wires and 400 speakers. Not getting much wires except from chicken and parrot stalls. The speaker drop is okay I guess.

 

I expect to be completely done with this event tomorrow. Each of my farms needs something different...One needs a few more parrots, another needs a few more chips, etc...

I ended up using what would amt to around 4 full fields for this event. I started out by growing all the event crops first. I feel that is the best use of CAC and maybe some other buffs that I can't remember right now from the CRs. That took a 1.5 days.
I also needed to grow things like hay, carrots, etc. The price for neglecting my farm for a few years while participating in events and making MOS.
Then I switched to long pens overnight. I choose 15h pens w/ water, thinking they would be 12h but I forgot about my CRs and most of the pens were 10.5h which was shorter than I really wanted. Drops were 1:1 from those pens. Because I needed parrots and elephants for this event I swapped out the long pens for parrots on two fields, then elephants then I had to leave for a Dr appt. By the end of the day I was done with critters. Ignoring snakes... Similar setup on the Main farm fields. If one has time to micromanage their farm and is worried about drops I would try pens w/ base time around 8h, add water and harvest twice during the day. If that results in less than 75% drops you might try a slightly longer pen assuming your're not going to leave them unharvested overnight. Growing 15h pens during the day is probably a loss of time for someone worried about wires.
Last night I swapped out the pens for trees. Added tree mulch to all four fields so they would be done early today. One more harvest of trees and I should be done with speakers on all three farms. Then I'll mostly return to my preferred style of farming except for preparing for next event.

If I wasn't distracted by RL I might have had the presence of mind to grow the regular crops & critters needed for the event the day before but... c'est la vie...

I don't consider drops a matter of luck. I consider them a matter of math and strategy and time management. All of this comes in to play by use of buffs like water, alchemy, CRs, etc. Also by planning ones day as much as RL will allow. Among other things I had two doctor appts this week. I did my best to make sure I didn't have any harvests during those times. I rarely, as in it's been about... 6y, maybe longer, since I've bought a basket for my farm. I do not depend on event drops from my neighbors and have told them they don't need to send me gifts since I usually forget. The next two weeks are going to be really busy for me too. I may have to use some of my data Giggle Bites to turnover the farm from my phone. I admit I was tempted to buy baskets during that one VERY DEMANDING event we had a few months ago but decided I spend money on Harvesting Tools and that's more than enough with my budget.

Think smart and have fun doing it.

(While I was typing this I was also trying to watch a program about how the brain works on PBS. In a nutshell... practice makes perfect. If you have trouble with math... work out your own numbers then check them against the Forum, etc. If you don't try you'll never develop the skill. Like riding a bike. No one does it the first time. Some learn faster than others because they have tested themselves with similar tasks or have a natural aptitude. Some of us are slow learners. But we'll never learn if we don't try. If you want to delay dementia... one thing that helps is learning new skills.)

 

I have 2 fields of stables on baha and 1 of trees. My main is crops, glades and meadow are in a combination of stables and trees. I just harvested 10 parrots and 5 sloths from baha and got 2 wires 15 stables: 2 drops. main farm 12 sheep and goat: 5 wires, 20 sheep rabbit goat and got 7 wires. Main farm 32 stables 12 drops. The stables are a mix of short and long term. the short term ones are for the event.

I guess I need longer stables though I won't be able to harvest often like I do during the day.

 

I only have to finish Deck 1! I still need 296 Speakers and 199 Chips. I will just keep all my lands as is till I finish this event!

For anyone that's still struggling with wire drops... don't forget that there are crafting products to speed up pens or workshops... I forget the names since I haven't used them in years.

I forgot to mention that all three of my farms have 30% LL rune which is a big help with drops. I have some Howies for my main farm but haven't had them out for years.

During this event I left my Manufactories and Menagies out. Don't have very many and they have mostly long pens but those pens have been guaranteed drops.

 

Completed this event this evening plus CR up and running it was not easy as first thought

 

Now only need 150 speakers to unlock the last key and got last deco to run CR.
Although I had to slowly turn Baha field back to empty plot for Baha event
preparation. With the time left and also ajust main farm space to tree planting.
I think I could finsihed this event. But may be quite late....

Oh, I go to check the calendar and Carnival Event held on 2nd Oct, just straight after
the starship event. If I cannot finsihed this event on Monday, I will not get enough time
to prepare for new event!

If you have enough supergrows do not worry about preparing for carnival event. After you finish the current event, use them with buffs.


I finished the event just now. I used turbo mulch on my trees to get that loud speak. It certainly is ALIEN. Not coming within our grasp.

 

Hi 12ss12, thanks for your gift.
I already use SG & buffs on preparation. At my level sweet clover is longest hr crop, I usually
use CF for preparation of event. So,add SG & buff is a must, otherwise it cannot catch up time.
Let see how many speaker I got at 1st Oct 14:00 CET, if Good luck enough I may finished event.
Since I still keep some trees on Baha. It will help a bit!

 

I have completed the event on both Cassie and Erridge. I had to fill all fields with trees to get enough Alien Loud Speakers.

This event is done and dusted here on joanc and on my AmySue. CR's up and all goodies in the barn.
But, I would not part with my hard earned snakes. Still hoping we get to breed them someday. If only to get a stable redesign!!

 

At last CR up and running this night after the usual lack of drops, this time concentrated to the loud speakers ,,, even if five fields were almost filled with trees. Found the instructions difficult to read so please, can anyone answer to if there are ways to see if all demands are filled (and the rewards recieved ) Suppose you can't do anything with the extra event crop one have, besides recieve the meagre sum of CCs when the event is closed?

I got all the Chips I need! , now I need just 279 Alien Loud Speakers to finish! My plan is up on Baha to put every extra tree I have in the crate out to help get those speakers ! I hope those "Aliens" are generous with their speakers so I can get this done! lol

Need to finish one partial harvest of crops and 125 loud speakers and 150 chips on 2nd farm. Should finish tonight. The prizes are nice, the cloud row nice but I got lost in what I was doing. Real life has been busy so my farming has been a bit distracted. Thank you to all who have contributed to this thread. Your shared experience helped shape the decisions I made on my farm which will mean I will finish. Had you not, I would have left my stables out too long and not had enough trees to get the loud speakers. As it is, my wires are surplus. I just didn't balance well enough early enough.
