"Stocking Stuffing" Christmas Preparation Event Strategy

Had a nice start with 461 drops (315 from initial crops, 145 FSQ). If RL cooperates I hope to complete this event. There are good rewards mixed in, so I believe it is worth it to me. Best of luck to all participating!

Got a late start, but I'm in. It's such a busy, busy time for me right now -- I just hope I can devote enough time to getting the CR and some goodies. We'll see. All I can do is try. Come on, gift boxes. Hoping BP is feeling the holiday spirit when it comes to drops this time around.

Got a good jump start and 322 boxes from the quest and harvest so hopefully it will be OK. I don't have any of the new field in Baha open so I'm going to try this using just 3 fields and leaving my rain forest and glade covered in trees and animals.

I'm still trying to get back in gear on game playing at least this morning I remembered all my buffs and pets before I started to harvest.

Only got a harvest of 80 boxes from baha and mainland combined this morning, but have yet to harvest my overnight crop which should hopefully boost that number a little

Edit: My overnight harvest yielded a further 80 drops, giving me 160 total. Not brilliant, but a start at least. Time will tell whether I can get enough.

 

Got 322 Gift Boxes from Drops. Just done my 2nd Harvest of Ribbon Tulips now got 480 Gift Boxes not got 145 Gift Boxes from Quest yet

Thanks everyone who did number crunching! I managed to sneak in and harvest my first planting. A couple of fields of carnations and long baha plants, trees and stables plus my friendly neighbors. Net so far - 226 gift boxes. Not too shabby since I work during the day.

Thanks for info on the FSQs everyone! Saved me some analysis. All these carnations I plant will now come in handy for donations.

Is it compulsory to donate 3 presents to each animals in order to get the cloud row. or is it as flexible as maybe 6 presents to 2 animals?

 

Each animal can be gifted 3 presents. To get the CR, 12 gifts, you need to gift all four animals. You can gift them different presents or the same gift 3 times.

 

Got fairly good drops overnight with long-ish crops. But, I can tell that the gift boxes are going to be the bug-a-boo with this event. I still haven't figured out how I'm going to work tomorrow. I may do the event crop just before bed then harvest when I get up and put in a long term crop as I'll be unable to harvest from about 7 am until about 7 p.m. tomorrow...maybe even enough time for rosehips?

 

@dumbunny since drops are the bottle neck in this event why not do long term crops overnight AND your day away from farming than you can get a little ahead in drops! When you have a day @ the computer you'll catch up on the event crop Good Luck!

 

Looks like drops are going to be a problem. Sigh. What else is new?

 

I can't complain about the drops. In just a day and a half I have:

Flowers - 9,989
Drops - 880

About half way on both without doing anything special. OK .. applying water and manure
Avg. 3.5 fields with crops during the day (3 harvests) along with a couple of menageries, manufactories a few pens and 12hr trees, long time crops overnight.

I might gift Santa a smile too.

 

I have 22,000 Ribbon Tulips it know it over but just in case, Now got event crops out of the way can up farm to increase the Drop Rate of my next harvest so far got 929 Gift Boxes

 

Thank you 12ss12 for that info. I was wondering if my farm for ltbit could get CR. It hasn't managed to open up CR or baha yet. But it would have been nice to gain a CR ahead of time and have it waiting. I just may just skip trying for the event for ltbit.

I am hoping I can get CR for this one on my main farm. I have left some trees and stables/workshops around. Don't have my Crystal field all the way open yet (Hasn't been a priority) Since we have until Tuesday AM. I should be able to achieve goal. Will plant long growing plants very early tomorrow, since I am may not be able to check on farms tomorrow until evening.

So far: 5217 Ribbon Tulips and 664 gift boxes. Not counting what seeds are in use.
I did the FSQ so that helped. No baskets. Not too shabby since I only farm three times a day during the week. Did use PJ early. Last harvest with CAC.

 

End of year events, November and December, tend to have really good rewards. They made the Christmas a multi part. That means if we have any hope of completing the next part we, probably, need to do our best with this event.

I skimmed the FAQ as usual. Missed a lot of key points. LOL! I was busy the day before but had time to put some rose hips out. Yesterday, I put out the starter seeds and ate breakfast. Did a second round of nuked event crops and finally had time to read this thread... Totally missed the companion quest in my reading. LOL! Thanks to Illy for mentioning it. Completed as much of it as possible and worked on the other two farms. I'm using a 48h coupon. I've completed 6 gifts. After this round of event crops I have one more to plant/harvest. I'll be finished with the event crops around 1a in the morn. I've only grown event crops since the beginning. Been late for a few harvests but doing OK. I'm using the vast majority of 4 fields, I still need to open 2 sections of CF, for event crops. The rest is trees. As usual I have not bought baskets, not in my budget.

Current drop count:
Farm 1 -- 122
Farm 2 -- 30
Farm 3 -- 59
I have Howies for Farm 1 but I deleted them many months ago when I was clearing cutting the fields and haven't bothered to put them back out. Haven't needed them, Lvl 30 LL rune. By the event clock I'll have more than 72h to grow some "refined" crops for drops. Real time for me will be more like 60h since I live on wrong side of planet and can't count on waking up to harvest. I like a 12h schedule so probably my easy go-to of carnations with "hedgehog" CR, SOL or EOL to get something to suit my schedule. I've gotten enough drops for 6+ gifts from 2 days of harvesting. I should easily get the rest of the drops in the next 2 days. That is basically what I do on days when I'm too busy for short time event crops. Then when I'm able to be home w/ my puter, I take care of the event crops. Or I grow the long crop at night and event crops during the day. I was looking forward to the breeding event but then I saw the event crops and skipped it entirely. I needed the rest. Besides I wasn't impressed w the rewards, esp for the cost.
