Strategy: Viking Saga V3

This morning's drops were much better but still not great. I received 88 drops total from all fields. On my main ones, I had planted long growing crops: roses, oyster mushrooms, & garlic. I would've done more garlic (or all garlic for that matter) but had just unlocked it yesterday when I leveled up & have to grow more to harvest, can't afford to buy a bunch to cover my main fields. Drops should improve when I get to the point of planting all garlic I hope. I of course moved my trophies to each field & refreshed before harvesting each one. Tedious. Can't wait to to be able to get the LL rune. I only received 12 drops from my baha fields because I accidentally fell asleep early - before I was able to plant long growing protea. So hopefully tomorrow morning will bring more drops there as well with protea. Hope everyone is doing well so far in this event. Happy growing & good luck!

 

My current drop count is 671/681/650, magic trees are 2/8/6, no clue how many gifts. At bedtime I had 443/419/432. So that's at least 200 from overnight crops of carnation and honey dew melon. If I had used something shorter than "refined" carnations they would have been ready before I wanted to get out of bed. I had to plant my overnight crops before 6p last night because my coupon for machinery was expiring. And in that 13h break I ate, gardened, watched TV, slept, ate, helped the neighbor kids pick some roses to give to their teachers... Tonight I'll have to use an 11h crop. I think I prefer the lazy carnations and 6h event crops.

I only have enough crops to mill 4 boths and they won't be ready until tonight. I think I'll wait until I'm almost done with the event to decide if I want to do more than the 40.

Has anyone seen the "Bullseye Bonus" chart yet?

You posted as I was composing this...
If you're going to grow two rounds of watered event crop during the day, like I'm doing, then check to see which of your crops is around 11h w/ water. If that fits your RL schedule... Should be something in the 12-13h range. If you want to speed things up with manure you can use a longer overnight crop and get more drops. Maybe something in the 13-14h range. Keep us posted.

Wanted to paint the garden fence but looks like it's going to rain here

 

The bullseye chart is where you see your result, you see the checkmarks to the right, counting from top and down, 1-5. So far I have with my skilful eye and clever tactics ( = pure luck) managed to have 2 viking stickers and 490 viking coins (Kroner ofc) from 9 whatever we mill. I forgot what it's called, but the sight, taste and the smell is probably the reason the Vikings went on trips, in desperate search of better food.

Drops wise I'm slightly behind the old-timers, but due to lack of imagination, not worried. Much more worried about spending my Kroner on wise stuff in the Viking shop. If only I knew what wise stuff were.... what are you guys getting ?

 

Main items for me are stars, bananas, trees and pens, coupon and pinkie pie. But at this rate hopefully will get everything then will look at givers

 

OK I'm totally confused about the Bullseye Bonus then. I guess I'll just wait until I get something to play with...
I was able to make 4 broths on my 3rd farm. I would have given them to Moraine but apparently she doesn't appreciate a good lutefisk broth. I got 40/60/32/52 coins trying to follow the shape of the axe head strategy. I tried using a similar strategy on the runes as well. It doesn't seem to be working for me. I might have another theory tho.
The info I was looking for on the Bullseye Bonus is part of the tossing. I didn't have any broth so no info. I was at level 3, added level 2 and... maybe another. lol Still need 4 & 5.

Well... since we have to choose our prizes...
I'm going for 24h coupon, PF, trees, PF, trees, is there any more PF?, stables, how much do I get to spend? (oh, right, it depends on our skill, etc), givers are always a good choice... I guess I really haven't decided... yet. Maybe I will try for extra after the 40... Love free stuff.

phoenixboy, I wouldn't waste star coins on something I can buy for CC, like PPP. Instead find something to sell to buy that stuff.

Ha! We had 5 years of drought. Now our 4th wettest year in 180y records. No rain in sight but 5 more months left in season til Oct 1. I only lasted half hour. It's already too hot in the sun. My dahlias have come up and are looking lacy from the darn slugs. The peonies are still hiding. Not sure what happened there. Might be operator error. Most of my seeds, tomatoes and calendula, are up but looks like I need to start more of those to replace no-shows. Also started some alyssum and rosemary, still waiting...

But my roses are in full bloom and look BEAUTIFUL! Loving them. I lost about 6-8 rose plants from the fire so trying to get them replanted this year, finally.

I see. Looks like that is the only thing you can sell in the Market.

If your goal is making more CCs, there should be at least one thread that addresses that.
Then you can use the star coins for things like PF and make coins during breeding. Or SG to speed along crops and get drops sooner. Or trees and stables for something you might be able to sell everyday and make coins instead of one time. Or GBs to level up and sell your newest acquisition. Or givers to help you level up faster every day, get more stars and other goodies.

Question: Are any of those deco-givers belong to any CR that may or may not come my way later?

 

Have only had two goes and got 57 coins ...Not good
I noticed when you have chosen an axe and a handle.... And then mouse over Ingrid she sometimes tells you it needs a tweak ...is she telling us it's the wrong handle to go with the Axe and to pick another one ???

On the left hand side of where we play the games ...it has the cloud row and givers looks like we might need to play 40 games to get the row and givers ? ...but might wrong in thinking that also

I know, I am late, but first of all, I wanted to say thank you to all, who crunched the numbers and gave very good advise!

Here is my strategy/interimsreport:
growing event crops on all 5 fields to get them out of my way.
Got 897 drops so far and have grown 9465 event plants. So a bit more than 30 hours into the event I am half way through.
Was quite successful with the axe throwing and achieved 838 coins. Will try to buy two givers to fill one of my cloud rows, where I had given items away by mistake not realising, that I have the row at all *stupid me*
With 18 tries already achieved 2 of the new givers and hopefully will be able to get the last one and the new cloud row as well.
At least these items and CR will have a long term effect and not be used up again with the next event

We will see how it goes.

Yep, you can only see the Bullseye Bonus info while you're playing the mini game. The check marks on the board next to your throw results show which bullseye targets you've already achieved, and if you click on the gift icon in the top-right corner



it will bring up a chart with all the Bullseye Bonus rewards.

You need 40 games if you want to complete the event and get all the rewards, including Ingrid, the Viking Maiden - an extra giver that does not go on the cloud row. But you only need to play 35 games if you just want the cloud row and required givers.

I have only one more sticker to conquer ! I am now well settled in the mini-game and enjoying it. Yesterday was a flop day for me. No electricity for more than 5 hours and after that my internet didn't connect for several hours. So I missed harvesting and planting. Tried an alternate internet source. But as all these made me somewhat restless I couldn't play the mini-game to my best. Suddenly when it was time to sleep my internet connection seemed to get awakened by itself and today I started playing as usual and mini games were success. Got GBs, PFs, Wonder Stables, Harvest coupon. And also got 4 stickers & the Ingrid maiden of Diamond too.

What do you think is the best to be got from 'Classic' rewards ? Any idea anyone ?

 

so far 48hr's 941 drops, 7517 crop 2 field's habenaro, 3 field's crop, one more day before i start throwing, will keep doing the same thing for now.

 

@oldman49 , I too am waiting one more day before milling and playing the mini game! 48hrs in and I have 904 drinking horns and 8,622 golden root. I am happy where I am right now BUT I can't wait to get throwing some axes and get some of the "stickers" Good Luck and have fun!

I have almost all my event crops grown (need 600-700 more) My drops have been good but I haven't milled yet. waiting till I get back home and can really concentrate on what I am doing!! At least I hope it makes a difference Sounds like everyone is having fun

I have a question the only 3 givers I recognize is the forever autumn shades of cyan and pollen power so my question is did we have a CR for any of the other givers?do we need any of the givers in the store to put on this new CR? thanks for any help was judst wondering if any of them were really worth getting I already got pretty much everything in the misc part good luck to everyone
