Summer Fishing Bonanza Strategy Thread

I finally got a fishing Lure from the fishy fountain.. Whoopeeee - one fishing game, every TWO DAYS!! What's the point?! This is no longer a favorite game. Too frustrating. Not bothering to do it, unless I get another lure....in 2 days!

How many times do they, BP, have to nerf great events? Carnival Queen comes to mind.

 

I am finding it a real drag waiting for lures but I did win my first Chinchilla from one of the Polka stables!

 

I'm so pleased I decided not to do those linked events. My barn is almost full to the rafters now.


Please BP, stop spoiling our events.

 

Very disappointed with this event (actually - multiple mayhem events). In all the fishing events we've had, I have never lacked a decent return until now. I have only "caught" one marlin; despite "perfect" catches. And the wait for lures is ridiculous! The only strategy for this event is to shrug your shoulders and not expect much.

I know the perfect catch claim has never been quite true, but the chances of getting a good fish were reasonable in the past. Now more than half are lower level fish for me. If the plan has been to get people to buy baskets, it will not happen with me.

I have had hardly any Premium and absolutely no Deluxe lures from the Crates - and only ever one! Ridiculous! Still, it runs for another two weeks so maybe the odds will change! Ha! Fat chance!

When this game started I tried it a number of times - actually bought a few lures (and might have continued had the catches been accurate, as advertised)...but, just as Willow states above.....perfect catches do NOT give Marlins!! Not one marlin out of several 'perfect' catches.

EXTRA Congratulations to anyone who manages to get a Marlin...it should be stuffed and mounted on the wall!!

I am no longer 'going fishing' again until another free lure pops up - who knows when!

 

I think to get Marlin, we must click when the ring glows. Not before or after. But that's very difficult. Atleast they could have given us a small patch of ring and if we click within it we will get the top fish.

 

Having done the event many times, I have become fairly good at getting a glowing ring. Since my last post I have fished with all three lures (got lucky with a deluxe appearing) for a total of five tries with three glowing rings. I got parrot fish and blow fish.

But still, in 29 games I have caught only one marlin.

 

Event shop currency (star coins) are very scarce. I already have the previous editions cloud rows and givers so only looking for the fishy fountain upgrades in the shop. However, my Mom who has missing items is finding it very difficult to get her missing givers due to a lack of star coins.

I know it is very frustrating to be in a perfect catch circle and not get a marlin, but FAQ chart shows that even with a perfect catch and using the deluxe lure, we can still catch different fish.

Most of my lures that I have gotten from the Crates O Lures have been normal lures. In previous editions, I typically would mill deluxe lures and use any odds and ends left overs for normal lures. While it doesn't matter which lure we use regarding the number of games, it does affect the lootable we can win.

At least it doesn't take long to fish and doesn't require a lot of clicking like the Great Chase mini game does.

For now, I'm glad I don't have to mill lures. I remember the unbalanced drops of the 3 ingredients (fish hook, feather, metal disc) and always trying to get them more balanced to be able to maximize lures. I'm glad we only have 1 milled item right now. I have no desire at this time to worry about multiple milling.

Okay I got up this morning to harvest the baha peppers and noticed another quest that needs breeding and decided I'm lost; I cannot keep track of anything, I don't know how much more plants to set out, haven't got the tier 2 peppers started, in other words; a complete mess. So as of today, I'm bailing out of this. I'll use what lures I have to get a few tokens and be done with it. I only have so much time to work on this, even though I'm logged in, I'm away from the computer or out doing errands and can't sit to fuss. I don't know what happened to the gone fishing event but it doesn't look like the previous ones. I'm up to working 6 days a week now so it was stupid of me to assume I could stay on target. I'll work on the great chase and be happy with that. From reading the posts I realize I'm not alone.

 

I am not liking this series of mass events. I do not like the detective thing as I only am at level 89 despite 130 games played, some fields I can get maxx points as I can find the stuff and others it takes long after the counter expires. I am terribly low on lures for this event and haven't gotten but 25% of the way on fishing, no star coins at all so far. The pepper thing has been okay but I missed out on the midnight since I didn't even notice it.

 

I don't think I noticed it either ... what was it?

 

Interesting fishing result tonight - 5 lures (2 regular, 2 premium, 1 deluxe) and I suddenly got a school of marlins. Only one was a glowing ring catch, as I was tired of bothering. I caught 7 marlin and 2 octopus - guess the mystery algorithm swung my way tonight at long last.

Edit: And the marlins keep coming - five more today - along with octopus. Very interesting, after days with nothing but lower level fish.

 

I've had a few Marlins - I don't aim, I just click but they don't seem to be coming from the same place each time. Oh well, I'm at level 59 now with just over a week to go. I have got as many of the lures as I could from the other events but still seem to be a long way short of two thirds of the way through, as I think I should be by now!

Oh well, I think I will get one CR ... who knows, these Crates may give more than one lure if I am lucky! I opened five boxes this morning and got five *drum roll* base lures! Whoopee Doo!

I think I have had one, maybe two Deluxe lures from the boxes, a few more Premium but lots of base lures.

I got all the upgrades for fishy fountain. I have now 110 star coins. What should I buy ? I am really confused.

 

I just noticed that the last CR has a buff that's not listed in the FAQ, 10% increased speed for giver items, makes the CR much more interesting

 

I'm harvesting Giver items according to the times of the pets and buffs.
So the cloud row is no interesting to me. But, it is really interesting that the FAQ does not contain this information

 

It works on pets too I have many 24hr pets and items, but can never manage to harvest them exactly the same time. So the time they are ready every day gets later and later in the day. With 10% reduction I should be able to harvest them once every morning or evening, depending on what I find most convenient

 

What about the buffs of the cloud row?

BP's sales strategy works great!!! If you want to finish one event, you must finish all four other events.
