Doh. I hope Suguaro overnight makes up for it. If not I will not eat a single banana for a week.

 

Looks like tiara is the gift to give. Any neighbors reading this thread - Feel free to bypass me on gifts for this event. I will gift tiaras however to my neighbors.

 

Finely, a good surprise, I got my 2nd Lion and tomorrow morning I'll get my 2nd snail. I didn't noticed that these were gone to be rewards when I glanced over the reward list. It was a very happy surprise. I hope we get more as we proceed upward with these Toetums.

The drops aint dropping!!! Full fields of event plants and trees at the moment, last harvest I think it was one or two drops for full baha, rainforest and most of crystal falls. Long crops......drips not drops......but I really want the lion and snail pens as I don't yet have them. Good luck everyone!!

 

Yep, I'm thinking this is insane. It's not like I thought I would complete it in a few days but at this rate I don't think it's doable. CR really does nothing for me but I want the animal pens(lion, snail, etc) At least that way it's not a mystery what I will get. Now I think I will go pout for a bit(like my 6 yr old grand daughter would)

 

Can anyone tell me how many of the milled items we need? I am a little confused on how to progress but would like to get these out of way and start donating ... soon!

 

Because it depends on what poles you decide to build. Take Layer 3 as an example, both obsidian and alabaster demands 5 flower leis, the teak does not.

I'm milling as I go, a quick glance at the requirements, an even quicker glance at the top price and I make my decision.

I think there should be more of a warning for this one - perhaps a pop up asking are you sure when choosing the totem material. I can not continue until I earn the additional 75 GB required for me to open Goji trees and once you start a totem you cannot change, you are stuck with your choice! It is a long event, but gaining 75 GB seems like an impossible stretch.

Edit: I still need 44 GB, so I am closer to being able to participate but it still seems unlikely, sigh.

 

Well the tiara drop rate continues to, um, stink. Whole field filled with 16 hour melons yielded 6 tiaras. I can get the same from the event crop, so from here on out it's event crop until the end of the event. pfft.

 

I got 1 - one - tiara from a field with just event crop... so you might not want to be so quick and ditch the overnight crop, dumbunny.

 

I had a 1/2 Crystal Falls full of 24 hr Saguro & no Tiaras - BOO-HOO!!! This was the only field that I wasted SG on. The other 2 fields are full of Saguro's. they'll be done in about 2 - 3 hours. I will cross my fingers that I will get enough to make 6 more flowered tiara so I can get the Snail.

I peaked ahead. I don't think I'll need many more flowered tiaras. I will double check. I think I can finish with just the regular drops and the flowered lays which are much easier to get.

Illy - I to am making stuff as I need them based on my choices as I go along. With just a little cheating - peaking ahead.

EDIT: I encourage everyone to peak ahead. It looks like I will need 80 Tiaras to finish Lvl 7 they way I want so I get the EP givers that give the most and 15 Flower Tiaras (75 Tiaras) to get the Lobster in level 8.

OMG - I need 155 Tiaras to finish Lvl 7 & 8 + the 20 that I still need to finish Lvl 5, and I can't even get 1 lousy tiara from 100 1x1s of Saguros. Yikes!!! They rate this as medium. Don't forget to noticed the needed breeding animals. A Dancing Panda & 4 Snow Camels.

I don't think I would have proceeded as far as I did with out the Premium compensation.

BP - GGGRRR! 2 really difficult events at the same time and a power failure for 2 days.

The one thing I'm absolutely certain of - is that I refuse - will not spend RM to finish this event. I don't need a 3rd Lobster that badly!!!

I like difficult were we need to use our brains. I don't like greedy. I'm will to pay RM to use my brain or to have fun, this event does neither; although, I do enjoy watching the Hula animals.

EDIT - EDIT: I am sorry for being so negative and gripy. I do try to find the silver lining in everything. I actively try to be grateful for everything even the unpleasant aspects of life, but BP is making it really difficult for me to stay positive and grateful this last week. Thank you BP for this spiritual challenge to stay cheerful and gracious.

 

This event perfectly fits in what this game is all about: patience and determination. Players need to have and show a lot of both in themselves as these gifts of life aren't buyable.

The drop rate is set for a 13 day event and thus there is no need to rush or to be concerned already after 2 days of pathetic drops. But I recall the introduction of the menageries and the epic fail on the drop for drills needed for expansion.. In the end BP noticed as well and acted the right way. I sure wish they'll do the same on this drop rate the moment they realise too many ppl will not be able to finish. Fingers crossed.

 

Haba - Most of the time we grip when things are hard, yet doable. Unfortunately, there have been maybe 2-4 times over the past 8 years when BP totally messed up and made things impossible. This might be 1 of those times. I will wait to determine this when I harvest my 2 full fields of Saurgos. If I don't get enough tiaras to make the 4 flower tiaras I need to get the snail, then I will switch gears and go for the lesser items that do not need tiaras so I can get the CR.

 

Taking Sglick's advice... I looked ahead. I need 4500 more event crops, 174 Strings, and 190 Tiaras to finish.
On the other hand, I am finishing the last step of the Hungry Statues FSQ, as we speak (Who says I can't multi-task 3 events) all because of the Premium bonus O ops package.

 

You need exactly the same number of tiaras (the drop item, not the mill item) to finish the event no matter which totems you build, so choose the ones with the best rewards it is just for some totems you'll need to mill flower tiaras, while for others you donate tiaras and frangipani separately, but the number of drops and crops needed are the same.

 

@Moraine Thank you for starting this thread, it's much more helpful than the FAQ, which is very confusing to me. I'm overwhelmed and getting a late start. I have a question for you. When you show the layer options, 1-8, which one does each layer apply to?: The first (on the left?) or the 2nd (on the right?). For example, on layer 1 if I chose the obsidian option, does that mean both those tiki building options (both left & right) are going to both show that 50 hibiscus, 150 peanuts, 1 tiki totem (timer?), 250 frangipani, & 40 ebony fruit are required? Thanks!

 

Gah! Believe it or not but I've done some thinking.. In short:

When it comes to drops, most players think of growing time. The longer the time, the more drops.
Now, what if BP plays another trick upon us?
I would not be suprised.
Instead of time being the main factor, they now go for the number of harvests?
The more harvests, the more drops.

As soon as i have all event crops done, I'll switch to short(er) timed crops and will see if I do recieve over 4 tiara drops per field in 8hrs.

Dunno if it was clever thinking

 

This event is meant to last 14 days, that's a long time, the crop requirement looks closer to a 7 day event. So ofc the drops is stingy. BP thinks and wants us to work on this fir 2 weeks. If it were what we think of as normal, we'd be done by tomorrow.

After the crop is grown we can grow whatever we want, and still receive drops.

There are three options for each layer and you need to choose two of them. The two totems will not be the same. After you have chosen the first totem (left or right doesn't matter), you'll not be allowed to choose the same for the second totem. Try it out and you'll see how it works! As long as you haven't donated anything you will be able to change the building material.

@habalala I really don't think so, but by all means try it out. You can for instance grow a round of sugarcane between two harvests and you'll have your answer sorry, misunderstood
