Temple Monkey Day Strategy Thread

@gardengal Think of layers as levels. At the first level you have three totems to choose from, you need to build two. If you choose Teak, you also have to choose between Obsidian and Alabaster. Each totem pole has their own building requirements.

So if on level 1 you choose Teak and Alabaster, you need what's in the Teak table + what's in the Alabaster table. You do not need anything in the Obsidian table.
What you also need to have an eye on is what's the different prizes, and yes each totem also have different prizes. You can choose one and see. Before you start donating/building - you can switch totem, and see what the others are offering.

You need to do level (layer) 1 before you can move on to level (layer) 2.

It's much harder to figure out by reading, when you play it's much more intuitive and easier to understand.

Don't forget to do your drop dance when you harvest, seems it's much needed

 

@Moraine @-Mir85- Yes, I understood there are 3 options on each layer, but didn't know if both totems left & right would need the same requirements if I chose obsidian option and was afraid to click on them lol. I just did & now I see. Thanks!

LOL Mir... Sorry but I can't and won't grow sugarcane for 8hrs in a row! It's more like I'll do 4*2hr crop or 2*4hr crop for a try

Moraine - I have always been a cheerleader for patience, but if we get 0 drops for a field of crops. 0 x 14 days is still 0.

Has anyone worked out the daily needed drops for the tiaras?

I hope I am just causing a ruckus for no reason.

31 + whatever you need to make - so I think closer to 40 a day.

Habalala - forget sleep, forget food, family on hold. It's sugarcane time! 24/7

Edit: I wanted to add, as wiser farmer than I have mentioned. When BP see their drop rat is on vacation they quietly turn up the drop rate up. Happens a lot. So I refuse to worry until the last hours. I can get my wrinkles in a much more fun way than worrying of things that might not ever come to pass.

 

Moraine - I totally agree about the worrying. Thanks for the reminder.

I just went on a rampage due to the ridiculousness of no drops for a 24 crop. 1 more hour and maybe I will change my tune.

 

@-Mir85- it's okay. Your suggestion made sense, I should've been more clear about the number of drops per 8 hr frame. With plenty of event time left I'll try out the 1/2/4 hr crops in the next days and if anyone else wants to try out growing sugercane for 8 hrs .. I'ld say: go for it!

Haba - You might be on to something. I just got 4 Tiaras for 1/2 field of Pineapples.

EDIT: I harvested the 2 Saguaro fields. 12 & 16 were the drops. This looks OK so now I am thinking there was a 24 hr Bug that hindered the drops.

 

Dunno, nothing for granted here, only your result in, but my math on it using full fields:

Pineapples - 2 hrs - 8 drops (4 per 1/2 field) *4 = 32 drops per 8 hrs
Saguaro - 20 hrs - 14 drops (avg of 2 fields) /2,5 = 5.6 drops per 8 hrs

Haba - Thanks for doing the math so we have some bases for comparison.

I'm still leaning towards the Bug theory since there was a big rash of complaints that people received 0 drops during a 12 - 15 hour period.

 

So frustrated on the other event, this seems relaxing, lol. I am just waiting on the drops to finish the last part of one totem and will be done with level 5. There is still a lot of time left to finish the last 3 levels so I am just coasting and not worrying. I much prefer farming to doing the ridiculous breeding garbage event they gave us.

 

I've messed up badly!!! I've been trying to hurry to finish or at least get close before Monday b/c I leave for a conference all week. So every chance I got, I made flower tiaras. Now I've used all my reg tiaras up and need them for the 1st donation on 14!!!

This morning finished with crop...so since I was low on pineapples put them in. 3 fields covered in pineapples...and not 1 tiara!!! Argh!

 

Poor Brooke, I'll send 4 Tiaras when the day changes.

Brooke - It is nice that we can bring you a little bit of happiness.

 

Is this a Premium Member feature or are you sending from 4 different farms? I ask because I am not a Premium Member and I can only send 1 gift to a neighbor.

 

I have 4 farms

 

No guarantees, but buffs seem to be working on stables again. Noticed cloud rows reduced time yesterday, and today I tried valentines pot which seemed to work correctly.

 

I have completed 9 games and have had to stop to wait for Tiaras. I think I'm on track though I am a little concerned about drops too - bearing in mind my inability to farm normally for three days of this event. I wanted to get it wrapped up before the weekend but I may have to be patient!

I am enjoying the different game play and especially the dancing critters (thanks for posting the whole gang earlier, Spots!) .
