Temporary friends list for gifting

Because I like to send new players gifts, during events and during G & T, I have quite a long friends list. Many I never hear from again, which is OK (often once you go up, the need for getting gifts of drop items, CAC, etc goes down), except that sometimes it can be hard to find folks I contact regularly for all the "noise". I know I can delete them, but in many cases I am not sure who is who. I have deleted the wrong people by mistake already.

What about allowing a special short term gift list that would last only for the event or that would be just for giving items ... would not include neighbors, etc. It could be a "one time gift" deal or it could be a list that expires after a certain time. If we want to keep people for the future, we can add them to our regular list, but this would be an option for many.

 

I have had to delete people also in order to send a gift. I like your idea but think that there could be a list of neighbors and a list of buddies (short term gift list). That way the listing would not have to be deleted (or if it had a designated number of slots players could be deleted as necessary instead of deleting neighbors).

 

I Might be misunderstanding you, but there is no limit to the number of friends you can have, only to neighbors. Your neighbors are automatically put in your friends list and are always the first on that list. The others come after. I believe the number is essentially unlimited. If there is a limit, its very high .. over 100. That is why I have trouble going through them all.

 

Maybe there was a glitch -- when I went to add someone it wouldn't take until after I deleted someone and then the "add as friend" button lit up after being checked in the outbox.

Maybe there is another way to add people to list.

 

Are you sure you are adding a friend and not a neighbor? How are you doing it? The easiest way is to go to the post office, send a quick message (folks usually just say "adding"), then go to your outbox, click on a message and then add them there.

Doing it same way as when it didn't work -- send message -- go to outbox -- click check mark -- click add as friend.

It is working now -- when I tried before the "add as friend" button remained gray after I checked activity button (check mark).
