As a person with a relatively young farm still, I'd like to know more about plant refining. The tutorial is vague, I muddled my way through it, but I would like to know more strategies, theories, opinions, etc. I already have roses with Early Bloomer, Dual Fertilizer Love, and Water Love refinements. I have one hazelnut refinement. To start, I have a question or two: In the refinery, there are six slots showing. At first I thought you got six slots per plant, or three per plant on two plants, but now it looks to me like you can have any number of plants refined with any number of refinements, but you can only have six of those refinements active at a time (assuming you pay to open up the last two out of four slots). Is this right? Also, I was looking at the third tier refinements, the ones with one positive, and two or three negatives. Do you think they're worth it, and why?

    That is correct. :)

The Greenhouse is where you do research and discover the refinements for each crop, and the Plant Refinery is where you go to activate those refinements.

As you said, you can only have up to six refinements active at a time. When you cancel one refinement to make room for another, you will get a pop-up saying:

Would you like to end the refinement process for 2500 country coins?
It will remain active for 24 hours before the slot can be used again!

The game will, however, allow you to skip the 24h cooldown period for 8 BBs. :wuerg:

One kind farmer took the time to put together an in-depth guide to the refinement process - The plant refinery: A strategy guide to time reducing, tools and artisan drops.

It's very long but it's well worth the read. ;)

Depends on which refinement we're talking about.

Early Bloomer refinements that give a time reduction of 15-20% and SG Love refinements that increase the effectiveness of super-grow by 20-25%? Definitely. Any negatives associated with those are trivial in comparison.

The others? Not so much. Although the refinements that increase the drop rate for specific tools might be worth the trade-off if you find yourself low on certain tools and need a temporary boost.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, Zerodegrees, for that link. It was very helpful, indeed. The info does need to be updated, but that was the primer I was looking for!
