My initial drops were more soot than magnifiers ratio wise. 383 soot 85 magnifiers. Need 11 magnifiers and 35 soot and 100 powder puff to make 1 detective tool. I suggest gifting magnifiers over soot.
I harvested stables, workshops trees and 1/2 field of carnations. My whole field of carnations is almost ready.

Rose Hips and Honeydew looks tasty - Have some levelling up to do to get them

Okay.. I watched the FAQ pictures more closely, like a real detective, and came up with adjusted short routes to the givers and CR (see official FAQ for updates on it!)

As in previous post, the Cheese wheels are optional (marked with *) but I strongly suggest to get #1 in the City and #2 in the Milkshake Bar.

3500 soot? Is this right? the fog is still thick here. again 12700 crop and 3500 soot...and 1100 magnifying glasses?
I too had RL running so I didn't prep at all. plus a late start. I've got the other stuff so I'm not concerned but those drop numbers have me scarified that I won't finish. If I had clued in I would have plunked down some foxtail but no, I was making sorghum for feed and wasting rose hip on the recyling game.

After looking over the FAQ and reading through all the posts so far, I see that barn requirements are high and really a major concern. I was wondering if I could get a confirmation about the event crop and drop requirements for the event; I quickly added twice the following amounts to complete the event entirely - all steps - Powder Puff Plants 2500 + 10,000 (for the mill detective tool) = 12,500, Soot 3500 which is 35 soot x 100 detective tools and 1100 magnifying glass 11 magnifying glass x 100 detective tools.

I keep a good supply of all barn inventory, level permitting, so preparing those donation items are not such a concern for me, but the growing and milling items are how we must all budget our time and is why the above numbers are important to me. So please post a confirmation or correction if your sure your numbers are accurate, I would appreciate it.

I will be working on this event. My initial drops were good considering I had put out horse, pig and sheep stables rather than the usual long growing crop in order to help with the animal donations. My numbers were not as high as others here 370ish soot and 95ish magnifying glass which I consider good for harvesting only average stables and tree trim.

I have lost track what i got on initial harvest but i am surprise to have 1079 soot, 228 Magnifying Glass. So getting 3500 soot wont be an Issue as we have to work bit hard on Magnifying Glass all 1100 of them.

What great about this event we can unlock most of the rewards as i have unlock all except for those needing detective tools and Power puffs for remaining donations.

I have unlocked Milkshake Bar, Borsty's Factory and Post Office. But you have to donate 200 Power Puffs to activate the cheese wheel on claimable set timer, plus donate more Power Puffs to reduce this timer even more !! I keep my options open which cheese wheel to activate :p

I don't care much for the CR so I'm just going for all the rewards as I have all the items needed and will grow enough power puffs to unlock buildings and use on the cheese wheels. A nice easy event without the worry of getting enough drops. Good luck to everyone!

Well I went in with a game plan of going for the CR and givers first and then just threw all that out the window and donated all over the place. What can I say I was overcome by the prizes and the cheese wheels. :pxD Now I only have to grow another 11,000 power puffs and work on drops for the milled item. Should be doable before the end of the event, I hope.

LDCrow - I started out the same as you, then just kept donating also!:p Initial drops were 473 soot and 104 magnifying glass from carnations and protea. (Didn't have time for my favorite mix of rose hips and bitter ginger.) After two nuking harvests I'm at 772 soot and 162 magnifying glass.
I'm happy dancing - just got the +1 harvest on a party spin!:D A nice blessing for this harvest and the next one - got to keep my eye on the clock to not miss out on that second harvest, though. Probably will do refined roses overnight to improve my drop numbers, then get an early start on event crops in the morning. I want to get going on milling to take advantage of those cheese wheels!

Willow - Kudos on getting the bonus +1 prize wheel win!!!;) The bonus spins are my fav's!!!

I'm having a lot of fun with this event!!! I really enjoy the fact that I can go into the city and milkshake bar and get prizes at the get go by donating reg. crops & animals.:music: This makes it more interesting than other events when you have to grow, grow, grow until you finally get enough crops, drops to mill.... then donate!!! Plus the timed cheese wheels are great!!!!:D

For mill tool, 2 drops ratio is about 3:1
Being a mix type farmer, I find that my drop ratio is magnifiers more than soot uptill now,
I got only718 soot(3 from magic tree), but over 288 magnifiers( 4 from gift).
However, when I harvest my baha main which is set only for crop growing. I notice I got
from a full harvest of event crop, soot is more than magnifiers. So, I decided to send magnifiers
as gift unless my buddy want the soot.

I too am very pleased with the prizes, cheese wheels and the very nice drop rate. In 24 hours I got 1883 Soot and 492 Magnifying Glasses. Growing as many Powder Puff Plants as my fields allow me to during the day, after all milling is done the excess will be used to bring down cheese timers during the weekend. The extra PF from wheel #2 are worth it!

I think the magnifying glasses would be better to gift IMO. I don't think I will have a problem getting the soot but those glasses have me feeling a little nervouso_O:eek:o_O And what's up with 30 min mill time????-.--.--.->:( I strongly advice to mill as soon as you can, people!!;):p

I also happy with this event. As i am making a killing selling my stocks of violets 2200cc for 1 Violet in my market. As i discovered do not donate 600 violets - City - Tile 11 as you only get back 400cc x Farm level for me it was total of 55,000CC guess what i sold 600 violets for 1,320,000CC

Some of prizes on cheese wheel are worth doing as i am doing as i go alongm until i have ample amount of Power Puffs will nuke cheese wheel for Party Spin and 5 Power Feeds

I am slowly working on Detective Tools, as Magnifying Glass drops are not dropping as fast as i like too busy growing as many power puffs as i can. But still 4 days of this event yet.:)

Thanks LDCrow and Brooke!:inlove: The two harvests with +1 were very helpful, as I am milling now.

The timer cheese wheels are very nice, and after the CR is achieved they will be getting extra attention with leftover puffs. I have made nice cc's on violets, orchids and a few other items. (A different approach for a dedicated crop hoarder, but the prices were too good to pass up!) Detective tools are coming along slowly, as the magnifying glass drops haven't been as plentiful for me; but there is plenty of time left in the event.
Best of luck to all at work on the event!:)

It's very clear to me that this event is going to hinge on those magnifying glass drops. It seems to me the best way is to go ahead and get all the cheese wheels early and then grow enough power puffs to have on hand to mill detective tools as you go. I've only been able to mill about 18 of them so far based solely on drops. One more harvest of the puffs on 3 fields and I will have enough back up to mill all the tools. So after I harvest I'm switching to my long term plantings to increase drop levels instead of growing extra puffs for the wheels.

    Hello friends and neighbours --

Just a quick note to let everyone know that real life has been extremely busy lately. I'm not participating in this event for just that reason. I will do my best to pop in daily and send those needed items as gifts to my friends/neighbours.

Hopefully things will slow down soon and I'll be back in full action. Best of luck to all working toward the latest event! :inlove:

I was gone all day on set up day, by the time I got home it was too late to plant carnations, so I just left the stalls and mixed fields out that were ready and harvested them after the start instead. Got okay drops, can't remember what exactly, but not horrible. Did all the random prizes first (didn't bother trying to strategize best p, and got those cheese wheels going to maximize the amount of PF and party spins I could win throughout event (keeping in mind upcoming new prize on prize wheel). Finally started milling detective tools this morning - 27 minutes per, ouch! Best to mill as I go so as to not get caught unaware at the end of the event with more milling time needed than event time left. :p
