The HOME button on the forum misdirects

I am having a similar problem to another post on here where I get redirected to an error page on the forum, but I think I figured it out. If you press the HOME button, that is when you get the error page. As long as I press the "forums" button, I can go back to the base and not get the error page, so the HOME link seems to be broken.

I am able to click on the "Home" tab on the Forum without any issues. It may be that the Forum server is running slow at those times.

Nope, just confirmed that I'm still having the problem. The person who posted about it before appears to be also still having the problem. Doesn't matter, I don't really care all that much if you don't. You may close.

Could you please be so kind to let us know what page are you taken to, what link do you see? The Home button from the top left menu, the Home button underneath it, the Home link from the bottom left corner as well as the Home link from the bottom right corner should all 4 have the same address: "http://www.bigpoint.com/farmerama/board". If you are seeing a different address, could you please check if all these links show a different address for you?​

When I hold my mouse over all four areas, it says the link is "www.bigpoint.com/farmerama/board" no http://.

When I click on it, it takes me to this link: https://www.bigpoint.net/games/farmerama/board?originalURL=www.bigpoint.com

Thank you for letting us know. Yes, that's what you should see, and the link is correct. But you should not be taken to the portal, that is extremely weird Did you, by any chance, register your account originally through the bigpoint.com portal, instead of farmerama.com ? If you try clicking on this link, in this message or in your post - www.bigpoint.com/farmerama/board/ - are you taken to the broken page as well, or does the forum refresh correctly?

When I click on the link in your email, I am redirected appropriately. I notice your link has a backslash on the end and the link I see associated with my home buttons don't have a backslash on the end--could that be it?

Honestly, it's been so long since I registered that I have no idea where or how I did so. I have played the game for many years. The other weird thing is that until the last few days, I always clicked on the home button with no problems. The problem seems to have started recently.

 

Thank you for checking this, Laurelei. The / at the end should not make any difference, the link on the Home button does not have it either. I am sorry to put you through more trouble, but since we are not encountering this, we would need more help from you to reproduce this.

Could you please try, whenever time and mood allows you, to:
1. Access the forum while being logged into this account through another browser, to see if the issue persists?
2. Access the forum in this browser, without being logged into your account, to see if while not being logged in, the page takes you to the error page as well?

Interesting, I used Edge (I never use Edge) and I don't get the same result--everything works normally. It is only in Chrome. It happens in Chrome even when I go to the forum without logging into the game. I guess I need to switch to Edge.

Thank you for the update! That is very weird indeed. Have you cleared the entire cache & cookies from your browser recently, in Chrome? If you are taken to the same link while being logged out too, it should not be a problem with your account. It's also not a general problem, since not everyone experiences this in Chrome, so it could be a cache issue. If it's not I am at a loss but I will be looking into this further.

Thanks for your patience, I cleared cache and cookies and everything and now it's working properly. I thought I did that before, but maybe it was a timing thing. Everything working well even in Chrome now.

I'm glad to hear it is working properly now, but it is still extremely weird that this happened for you I wish I could give you an explanation, but I don't know why it could have happened. As far as we are aware, there have been no changes on the forum.
