i haven't even started making knives yet but I'm sure ill do ok I did get breeding event done on all farms I didn't get any good skips either and I even used the gold pheromones o well such is life thank you to those sharing what the secret prizes are

 

I just realized a bonus. Since the event crop is the highest TEP crop I have, so far, I can level up faster. Yippee!! Thank you all for your kind comments and encouragement for me. Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees.

however, even after looking at THAT, still cannot find an indication that participation in Red Diamond is **mandatory**. although this makes me feel quite unobservant/dumb { } , can you copy/paste the specific sentence that says this?

I'm having a hectic day today. I managed to finish the breeding event in about 10 minutes this morning. Did only what I had to for badges and I didn't pay attention to skips. Must not have been many since I looked at my duck and sheep and didn't see that any high level breeding animals had popped up.

Got my Baha crop all laid out on 3 fields for the second propagating stage in 2x2 with SG and SSG and got called away on a small emergency. By the time I got back I could have saved myself the SG and just grown them normally.

Laid out all my fields in 1x1's and had enough crop to mill the first 5 knives needed. Then I went and did something really dumb. I cut a finger rather badly with some garden clippers (there is a reason you are supposed to wear leather gloves) and had to go get some stiches. So now I'm on injured leave for the rest of the day. Once the local anesthetic wears I'm going to feel it, all I can say is at least it's my left hand.

 

My condolences on your hand. I know it really is gonna be felt for doing anything.

 

LD Crow - Sorry for your day and the stitches! Ouch! I hope you can still manage to do the event and what you need to in RL.

habalala - I loved the comfort field strategy.

Since in RL I work during the week - I have just sowed my second harvest of event crops. Will attempt breeding event this weekend. Almost on track for daily drops.

Spots? Are you referring to me as tb? I don't mind at all.

Oh my LDCrow, I sure hope your finger heals fast and it is not too painful! I finished the Wild about animals this afternoon. I used the useless Deluxe Pheremones with no good skips, so much for that stuff! Now on to the Red Diamond event! Oh the Hummingbird pen is just the cutest thing!

 

If you watch this you can see the easter egg / hidden treasure hot spots. Sloth... snake... The snake did not flash but if you mouse over it the cursor changes from a pointer to a hand...

There is no egg. The Blinking sloth has the hidden reward which is 50 sloths.

 

'Easter egg is a turn of phrase, Lily. There is no literal egg, it just means there's a hidden extra treasure. One per screen. The first post in the thread is keeping up to date with where each one is.

The golden banana in the third screen is pretty hard to find. It's near the right hand torches and only a corner is showing.

Ugh, I really dislike timed events ( FAQ - Hungry Statues ), but dangit those GBs and PFs are calling my name

 

Looks like the Hungry Statues does prove the rumor about mandatory participation in the Red Diamond event. That does not seem to be the hardest part though. I don't have two of the other trees unlocked and no GB's to unlock them so that let's me out of it.

I was able to do Animal event quickly since I have a rather full barn but... Now a timed short-time event...

I rarely watch DVDs so I really haven't seen/activated them. I've seen them demonstrated on TV news programs. lol They've been in existence for 10... 20... years? I think they are usually part of a director's cut.
The prizes we're picking up from them in this event are pretty darn good. This is really an event worth doing. You have to look pretty quickly at the GIF from the FAQ but it's Lvl 1 - sloth... Lvl 2 - snake... Lvl 3 - GB... Lvl 4 - pineapple...

 

Don't feel bad, I too can't do the next event... I barely can open one tree in the 3rd slot(minus some bananas).. the second tree I need is in the 4th slot. and the 3rd tree I need is in the 4th slot in another area... So Yes I am totally out of this one.. I think they should've labeled that super hard...

Oh well back to this event.. as it is all I have left to do so I am gonna try to make sure I can finish it. I am in the 4th step of this event with 11 jack knifes made. Got drops for 6 more. So I am pretty much on target with my drops... In fact after a second look at my math.. I thought I was getting behind on drops.. But truth is I am doing pretty good on them.. My daily avg is going down..

Added 4th and 5th to main post. Thanks Habala I have no idea how I'm coming along yet. The Quest-event really throws a spanner in the works. Not sure what I think if that. Do I suffer from FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), or do I use this forgetful brain to my benefit and just erase it from my mind. Need to do some math here. But I understand why this event is labelled hard, doing it with timed quest in addition is truly hard.
