A big Congrats Ariel!!!! That's a great way to practice your English....to post on our forum. I'm always so impressed with how well so many of our fellow farmers are not originally English speakers.....frankly, I cannot tell!!!

I taught my youngest son to read when he was 4-5 by playing a video game....he had to read to figure out the next stage!

    Hi CJ,
So sorry I lost track of this thread and am just now reading your post. Thanks for the warm welcome! :) How's the move coming along, well I hope ! Sometimes there is so much to get done in such a short span of time, one can get a bit frazzled, hopefully this is not the case for you.. Good Luck with your endeavors I wish you well!!. and I do hope your co-workers daughter has a bit of good news sometimes soon, so young to have to work through cancer. My heart goes out to her.
The passage, The one I posted, was taught to me as a child it is ingrained in my soul, at times I falter but always try to get back on track quickly. Be well, hope to hear some updates soon.

    @ Arielh,
BIG Congratulations to you, All your hard work is paying off!

Interesting way:) It also helped me too.
My first English words I learned them from video games. But I think computer and video games most helped me to learn the Latin alphabet, because Greek letters are different.

Thank you everyone so much because you all helped me:)

Hello all! Been a while since I posted around here, oops.

I'm so glad today is mostly over. Couple more hours and then I'm off to enjoy sleeping in my comfy bed.

Spent the day taking my son to a neurologist and having tests done. Nothing serious but makes for a long day when it takes an hour and a half one way to get there. Why oh why did I move out of the city again???? Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the new event.

Was thinking of everyone and wanted to stop by with a quick post... hope to stop by again this weekend when I have more time! (What's that lol?)
    ;)

Crazy week for me.... got a call Tuesday night from work wanting me to switch to a different classroom... it is a challenging classroom as the lead teacher has been out for at least 3 weeks due to an injury. Basically a promotion, but lots of work... it's a M-F , 7 hours a day (with an hour break lol). Went from 25-30 hours a week to 35-40. Long story short, they wanted a more experienced program assistant there and are pulling a veteran assistant to be lead teacher until the current lead teacher return from medical leave. I love it... it is a good challenge! I cannot wait to see the fruit of children starting to solve their own problems and use their words with each other! (My favorite part!) So my first day was Wednesday, and it went a lot better than I was expecting! Also the staff that stopped by to lend a hand at times said it was the best they had seen it (in a long time?) I don't remember the exact working... I just know we are doing good. Snow day today and tomorrow due to extreme cold... I am so thankful as the room really needs some tlc and organization. Heading off to bed now as tomorrow will be filled with cleaning and organizing plus getting some things into place so it is more functional.
    :inlove:

Will read back posts and reply later! {{big hugs}} ~edit~ removed name

Thank you. I won't have any results on him until they do a comparison test in another couple of weeks. Have to see if there are changes and if so in what way. I'm not too worried other than he's my youngest kid and I thought he'd be the last to have any issues. Shows how much I know about how our brains develop.

Thank you @wolfeyesone It has been a long road. We are preparing mentally for the results to go either way with my son. I'd rather be ready for the worst and not have it happen than be taken by surprise and waste time figuring out what to do. As my family says, I'm a planner. Having a plan keeps me calm. We are starting to revise our plan with my brother as well. Looking more like this is as good as he's going to be. So some slight adjustments to the long term plan need to be considered.

Hello Fellow Farmers! I received an IGM from CJAT and she asked that I share the following:

"My certification visit is today. We put in an offer on a house in IL last night. I need to set up my certification test, and also find a sub for Friday afternoon so I don't go over my hours. I love my job! I am excited for the changes I have seen and looking forward to seeing the progress the children make by the end of the year (end of May) - wow! Just a few short weeks left!
    >
    >Other than that, Jora is doing a cooking video for her Spanish class (in english) but a spanish recipie: pestinos. They are basically fancy donuts lol! (My daughter and her sweet tooth). They do use white wine, which we never use as we don't drink... but my MIL does on ocassion, so she bought it and she will keep what Jora does not use. I told Jora that next time she needs to pick a recipie without alchohol for cooking. But we do our first run through recording tomorrow after work. (Tonight I stay late at work for a meeting/cleaning mats, then off to church!)"

I know she is thinking of all of us and will drop by when she can. Big hugs and well wishes to CJ and her family during this busy time.

Thanks @puppiesnponies for the update with @CJAT

I hope all is well with everyone. I'm not sure at this point if I have any idea what is going on with anyone anymore, but I do know life never stops and there's always something happening somewhere.

Life has been so busy around here and school isn't even out yet. That has me worried about what's to come

I'm working 2 jobs, totaling 6 days a week. Helping my mom recover from surgery after falling on ice and shattering one wrist and spraining the other. As well as the ongoing help my brother and his kids need. I am so thankful my husband is so understanding and a huge support to me when I have trouble being in 2 places at once. Sometimes I wonder where I left my head :p

I was able to get away for a few days recently on a business trip with my Hubby. We took the time to totally unplug from everything and focus on our family. Our kids had a wonderful time and we all felt refreshed before coming back to reality.

@pepsishot, I'm sorry to hear how your slipped on the ice. I hope she'll make a full recovery soon.
That's very good news for how your husband can understand. We could use more people like that today.

Also I am glad to hear that you have enjoyed some time away from everything and got a vacation that you needed.

@CJAT, Hope every is fine for you as I can see you're pretty busy.
Haha, the recipes with alcohol are kind of funny. I been given the candies with wine inside.
But however, I don't drink alcohol so I didn't enjoy the candies.
The only times I would is if it's a special moment with someone. (Like if I was married and it was the anniversary)

Now this message below is for everyone to read.
I'm sorry for being absent from this thread. Everything is all going smooth at the moment. I been busy certain weeks and trying to keep myself busy when I'm not. Lately I been selling unwanted things on eBay getting maybe 75% to 90% of my money back. I'm happy with that because I prefer to sell it than storage it.

Thank you Mindy! My hubby is actually making a quick trip there and back tomorrow/Tuesday to look at some houses that just came on the market. He works tonight, gets a few hours sleep, wakes up and is out the door by at least 11am to make his showing appointment, spends the night there, and then back on the road in the morning in order to be back in time to work tomorrow night! :p It's a mere 8 hour drive, one way... :music:

So what part of Illinois are you from? We will be southern IL once we move.

@solo - I agree about the wine stuff... drinking has never appealed to me. Aside from the high cost, there are way too many people who end up abusing it and doing things they regret... Not being a drinker, I was curious and did take a whiff of the white wine we were cooking with and about gagged... it smelled way too close to the diapers I change at work! o_O:wuerg: No temptation on my part to try a glass lol! xD

@pepsi ~ ((hugs and prayers)) Such a busy life dear! Continued prayers for you for wisdom and priorities!

    {{hugs wolfeyeone and farmerlily}}

    @pnp ~ thanks for posting my update! {{big hugs}}

CJAT, I'm in the Windy City, but have a farm in southern Illinois - Pope County. The farm butts up to the Shawnee National Forest, so there are a lot of trees on one side. The rest of the land is actively farmed. It's a beautiful part of the state with the Ohio river very near and all the bluffs. We're in the foothills of the Ozarks.

I think you'll like it there. The people are very friendly and helpful. Just watch out for some of the wildlife: bears, wolves and snakes (copperhead, water moccasin, and rattlesnake). If you're in a town, there shouldn't be any interaction with the wildlife. It's on the farms, up in the hills and down on the river that you run into them.

What county will you be in?
