CJAT has a very busy day today but asked if I would just put in a reminder that Saturday she hosts a competition beginning at 15:00 CEST time where we will be guessing what the results of her trees were last Happy Tree Day. CJAT saves her secret trees from the train and event rewards for Happy Tree day to maximize her EP and now has more than 40 new trees for her farm!

She invites all to come and guess what she has and has offered prizes. Come and have some fun while you are either waiting for crops to grow or waiting to see the results of your wonder stables. I think I will begin the guessing with XXL catalpas since they seem to be a popular result! How many do you think she will get? I say enough to get her inducted into the TGC! LOL

Hi All!..........I brought some angelfood cake with a bowl of a mix of strawberries,blueberries and blackberries to put on top of it...with a little fresh whipped cream......if anyone wants a little treat.
solo - wow fantastic fish pics!!! That's a great idea for baiting(head slap..). I make my hubby bait my hook, cause the actual name of our bait is "stinky bait"!!! LOL Fish love it...but its smells putrid to me!
CJAT - make sure to say a big Hello to ct for me...and a huge virtual hug and that I miss her and her gorgeous siggies!!! I'm hoping and praying she is better and that her eyes are improving! I will try to stop by your game this Sat. A very Happy B-lated -day to Jora...wow..I remember when she turned 13....and all of us talking about the teen years. Time flies!
I think I've adapted to the new forum...although had to change browsers....but since this thread is back up....reminds me of many good conversations, friends and fun! It comforts me to see it continue!

For some strange reason, I had a "resentment" against the old thread for no known reason. It was just a gut feeling when ever I tried to participate in the old thread on the old forum. So far, this thread does not give the same reaction so I will try to participate more frequently.

I don't eat any fish out of the Susquehanna river. But if it's a different place then yes I do.

With my reply about the hidden truth, I wasn't sure if mods would let it go. But looks like it may be okay to
post it. I just didn't want to scare anyone making them afraid of me because I receive extra radiation than other people

But I will stop with talking about anyway. On the old forum I was on the "watch list" for mods. Every post I made had to be reviewed by so many mods to ensure it's allowed. They took down many of my post that they considered unsafe for the forums.
(Please take note I am only kidding. It's a solotime joke you know?)

epic, glad you stopped by ~ hope you change your mind and decide to hang out with us. Like Arwin said, it started out as a game (before the forum even had a game section, if I remember right), but had morphed into a chat thread so it got placed into Gabfest... I'm so glad to see it reopened here!

@CJ, You can take the those pills but I pass on them as I don't think they would really help much.

My fish are big to you guys but to me, they really aren't big because the state records are twice the weight of mine.
I know for sure a big Channel Catfish has to be lurking around the area I fish. I am guessing the fish would be anywhere from
36 inches to 48 inches. Now for weight, probably around 30 pounds plus. The reason I am saying this is because this spot is loaded with big catfish.

I need to buy a scale to know how many pounds the catfish are for sure. My latest one was around 14 to 15 pounds heavy.
Always got a tape-measure in the fishing box.
Before even catching the biggest one, something pulled my bait pretty hard within ten seconds of casting my pole out!
I would think this wasn't a catfish and probably a pike. Now it could have been a catfish is I casted the bait right in front of it.

 

I've heard that places with dams, where there is constantly moving water, that you can get catfish like 6 feet long!

Will pass on the iodine pills.. no need for them here! (I hope!)

Now I know why I stayed away from this thread in the old forum. All your talk of sweets - with pictures. Yikes! Hot chocolate with whipped cream and cheese cake. Yum Yum. I am gone to start having cravings. A new Italian restraint opened right around the corner from my house. I checked out there menu. They sell by the slice and have Cannolis. I am doomed!

Thanks Sapphire and everyone else who have offered their sympathy for my loss. I really am OK. It was one of those truly Spiritual experiences that only God can create. We all have to go some time and she was happy and cheerful until she was gone. I want to have the same kind of grace when it is my time.

Farmerumf - I love the tidbit about elevensies, I need another English lesson. What/ who are the Cornish? Are Cornish and Welsh the same? Will I start a war by saying they are the same?

I am not good like CJAT and commenting about every post. I am way too lazy for that; although, I do read them all.

 

@CJ, those couldn't be Channel Catfish though. But yes, some parts of the world got giant fish like that!!
The Susquehanna river got big flathead catfish but I haven't caught any yet. So can't say if my part of the river got them.

Bought the scale at Wal-Mart today.

Um, well hi? Hope I'm not intruding. Always felt a little averse to this thread in the old forum, as I didn't really understand it and it seemed to be full of farmers who actually knew what they were doing. Still, if I bring biscuits? It does look nice in here, like a farmerified version of the mod cave, and @solotime those fish are enormous!

@sglick, there is no war yet, but you probably would start one if you went into a pub in Wales and called them all Cornish..... or English....... or pretty much anything other than Welsh. Here's a map:

So as you can see, Cornwall is the southernmost part of the UK mainland (excl. Channel Islands, Scilly etc.). I'ts a county in England, which is a country in the UK. Wales is also a country in the UK and is made up of many counties that aren't shown here.

On that note, is anyone taking sides in the Scotland debate? For those not in the UK, a lot of people in Scotland (the top half of the UK mainland) want to be an independent country. There's a referendum (vote) on the 18th of this month, when we'll find out if more people support the Yes or No campaign. (That's yes for independence, no for not.) For a while it was about 40% Yes, 60% No (excluding undecided voters), but in the last month it's turned about even. Personally, I don't mind either was as I don't understand the full economic consequences being quite young, but I think it would be really cool if the borders of the UK changed. Going a little into the figures, apparently Scotland gets more money for its own government at the moment so that might change things for England if they do get independence, but some people are saying they won't take any of the UK's debt (???). Opinions please!
