@Brook, Haha, yeah the kitchen is nice but probably a little too high up?
I guess they only make them high when you don't have a second floor over it.

Thanks Epic! Love the map. I watch a lot of BBC shows and I am always trying to learn the relationships of the different County's. I wish this map was larger and showed all the counties for all the countries. I would save it for future reference. :)

My dear friend Famerumf also gave me a little bit of a history lesson this mourning Cornwall where she lives on another forum. She was talking about the Cornish's grand past with mining and pumping.

I hope the Scotts get their independence. I say based on the little I know of their History and Love/ hate relationship with England. I hope it is economically good for all.

I have mixed feelings about Scotland. It is a lovely country, the scenery is beautiful. It would be a shame to lose it as part of the United Kingdom, and what would happen to our flag which is made up of three different flags. Without the scottish bit it would be very odd! Then Wales would want independence too I expect. Cornwall would also try and break away and you would just have a small bit of England left. There seem to be so many issues not addressed. Only people who live in Scotland can vote. Scots who live elsewhere can't. Us English don't get a say either. It will be interesting to see what happens.

So it's like the US then right?

Some states want to become independent but they can't do that because the US clearly said once
you join, you can never go back. (If that saying is true)

~solotime - Sort of I suppose, but as you can see there is an option for Scotland to go back. It is quite similar in a way that Scotland has its own government that decides a lot - but not all - of Scotland's laws which I believe is like each US state, in the way that some states have the death penalty and others do not.

~farmerumf - I really agree with you about the beauty of Scotland. I'm not too sure about Cornwall getting independence as they don't govern themselves any more that another region does, but Wales is certainly a possibility. I suppose though, if the flag changes we could swap the background of the flag (blue Scottish cross) with the Welsh flag (white and green) and put a little dragon in the corner, as at the moment Wales is sadly ignored in the British flag.

    ~sglick - I found this:

Although Ireland is a different country, Northern Ireland is part of the UK. It's really confusing. Ireland has absolutely nothing to do with the UK. Um yeah. :)

Also BBC shows make me unable to even most of the time. Sherlock and Doctor Who mostly. Except Sherlock won't be out until 2016. *cries*

    :) :)

Each state in the United States almost has different laws.
It's very confusing because just imagine when you're traveling.
You aren't going to know the laws unless you look them up.

Just thought I'd take a moment and stop by...

It's pretty cool reading this... there is a lot that I was unaware of with the UK-Scotland-Wales. (Love the maps! I prefer to be a visual learner!) ;) Will probably have to reread the posts again to make sure I am actually understanding things correctly though!)
    :music:

@solo ~ there is some sort of TV program I have seen where this one guys goes around the world and catches (and releases) "monster fish"... your fish would be a nice snack for them!
    o_O
As for me, things are incredibly busy right now! :pxD We had our first day with little ones yesterday (a shortened day to get them used to the classroom/bus and teachers). It went well... today starts their first full day. My regular schedule is that I get to come in mid-way right before recess and lunch ~ and help figure out our first "rest time" (Which is new this year as we were a "double session" last year!) My day ends with "after care" (new) and I head out around 6pm or once all the kiddo are picked up.. makes it a late day, so mornings will need to used to be used also to work on homework... Otherwise, I am like this --> :sleepy: [insert book in front of smilie] xD

Last night after work, I choose to make a pot roast with veggies, and then go exercise instead of college classes, so today and tomorrow are going to be college catch-up for me, as I kinda have things are due tomorrow night!

@sglick ~I really miss the lifestyle changes thread... It was an awesome read for encouragement when needing to do things you really didn't want to do, but knew you should! :music: (And I've been working hard lately to make some healthier choices!) :)

Just waiting on Balloon flowers to be ready to harvest so I can go to bed so I thought I'd wander over here and see what's up. I learned a few things about the geography of the UK and a little bit of its history as well. Had a snack of some of the great fruit that CJ left out and put the rest in the fridge for later, then got in a cleaning mode and dusted all the countertops, fluffed the pillows, and swept the floors. Now its time to go harvest those balloons and go to bed. Good Night all (switches off the lights on the way out the door).

Wow! Look how clean it is in here!

@sapphire~ glad you enjoyed the fruit! :)

    {{sets out fresh muffins, and restocks fridge with other healthy breakfast choices. Also restocks the tea, coffee and cocoa selections}}

I woke up early and as farm stuff was ready, went ahead and harvested and replanted event crops. I think the event strategy thread is going to be a great place to refer back too... especially SuzeeRabbit's daily balloons/rhubarb numbers on page 2... it's helpful to me especially when I feel like I am often living life on the run! ;) xD

So glad to get my assignments in last night! It was worth it to delay yesterday morning and post on the forum a bit. I did get them finished off last night! Next thing to do is this new weekly class' reading while waiting after my allergy shot. (I like it when time management things planned actually work lol!) xD

@epic ~ ct used to talk about Dr Who a lot ~ one of these days I will find and watch an episode ~ all I have heard from it is that it is really good! :) My dad is Scott-Irish on his dad's side before they immigrated to America (potato blight of way back when). Also don't forget to update us on the polls and news for the Scotland debate and then for vote next week too! :)

    What's new with everyone??

CJAT Dr Who is excellent but sometimes you need to have seen previous episodes and previous series to make sense of it all. It used to be a children's programme but is getting more 'adult' in its content, although only in so far as none of us sometimes understand what it is all about! My son vets it before he lets his girls ( 6 to 10 year olds) see it as it can be very scary. The new Doctor is very good despite my misgivings when he was announced.

Scotland debate is getting silly now - promises flowing around from all sides and threats of what will happen. On the 18th we will know one way or the other. The polls showing it neck and neck, sometimes the YES vote winning and sometimes the NO vote winning. Such fun - not.

That's sad that the Scotland debate is getting so crazy... hope the aftermath of the vote is peaceable, and especially smooth if in case they do separate...

My hubby has seen episodes of Dr Who before, but it's not something that we usually get here. Maybe a special run of it now and again. We have always done the same with our daughter... vet/preview shows before she can watch them. There is so much umm... garbage out there dressed up as kid (and now teen) material, that it's sometimes hard on her, but I know she will thank us in the long run. She has a good head on her shoulders, and will turn off stuff on her own, but there are some shows that "everybody watches" that now that she is older, I think we may have to watch together and involve her in the decision. ~ It's still hard to believe that she is now in highs school and getting so grown up!

@Cj, sorry for my late reply. I know the show you mean. I watched it and even a different one.
They have two that try to complete with each other.

Just like the show Tanked. That was a nice show when it first came out but later they ruined it by adding drama.
I believe they did that because the other show is kind of better. They make bigger tanks.

A show on BBC. It's a classic. I was never really interested in the older original ones but the newer generation was good. I agree with whoever mentioned that watching more than a random episode is needed to truly enjoy this show. Starting at the "beginning" (aka Dr 9) is the way I would suggest this show. The first season was okay enough but it was season two that hooked me. However, without the back story of season 1.... I might have been lost a little.

    My 2 cents... :p

@pepsishot, Okay I just googled it too and now I know.
Well it's not a show I have ever watched.

When it comes to TV shows I am pretty picky for them.
I don't like watching anything older than 1980.

You guys and gals should hang out in the farm's club.

Hi solo! I've seen that thread, but have not really stopped by yet. :)

I do need to get going on my day now, but tell everyone there I say hi! They had cheesecakes for sale at the store, so please take your choice of one of these over to them as a welcome present from us at the LP! :) (Or you can take both if they seem really hungry!)
There are also extra fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries for those wanting the yummy taste of cheesecake, but without all the calories! ;)

Please also let them know that they are always more than welcome to stop by here if they want! :)
