The Mystery of Herbs III - Strategy Thread

The herbs are can not be replanted. Once grown they can only be donated. The best plot is the 2x2 for this event. With CAC you get 7 instead of 4 herbs. Good Luck to all you happy farmers!

I agree with Joanc. With CAC:

1x1 = 1 seed - return = 4
1x2 = 1 seed - return = 5 but takes place for two 1x1 (2 seeds with return = 8 )
2x2 = 1 seed - return = 7 but takes place for two 1x2 (2 seeds with return = 10) or four 1x1 (4 seeds with return 16)

Best plot to use in this event 2x2. And if you wish to use SG and/or SSG as well and don't want to waste 100s of those, using a larger plotsize is also your best option to reduce the amount used.

 

I must be missing something habalala.
If I have 44 seeds and plant them on 1x1 plots(with CAC) i get 176 herbs. Those same 44 seeds on 2x2 plots give me 308 herbs.
Since the product can not be replanted it would be a waste of some seeds to plant on 1x1s no matter what/anything is used.
I too use SG and SSG and plan to as long as possible.

Getting 16 herbs right now, thanks to the Farm Wheel and the first event bonus. And my AmySue52 is getting 21.

 

I just harvested my first water berries.....and they just disappeared!! Can't find them in consumables, or the event window either. Just Poof'!!

Can anyone pleeeeease point me in the right direction to find my missing crops??? I would really appreciate it!
Prickly fungus is ripe for harvesting now.....eeeek!!


Edit: Found my plants!! Came back from a meeting with fresh eyes....and there they were - they had turned into digital reps at the top of the event window!!

Glad I stopped by to read this - I would have used 1x1s for sure.

Although the thought of selling those rare seeds is tempting, I am hedging my bets. If I get enough seeds to complete that part of the event, I will plant/submit them and sell any excess - ever the optimist. If I am nowhere near enough by the halfway mark, I will sell them.
Oh, I wish I could make a definite decision!

I made no attempt to maximise my drops for the start of the event and I have managed to mill 13 Greenhouses. If I manage to do another 4 Greenhouses today, I will average enough to do 100 games. Now, that's if my maths is correct ...

Edit: Okay, going to have to rethink my strategy ... again!

Just realised that the + bonuses for event plant kick straight in so will have to consider growing some before I get to the right amount to ensure enough to donate! DOH!

Oh well, makes it interesting as I am not bothered one way or the other ... on the other hand, I do want to make some CCs ...

I have played 6 games and have 35 greenhouses. I have decided to keep making greenhouses for at least next 24 hrs. before clearing fields to raise crops. Best of luck to all.

 

Has anyone noticed + or - on crop , pen, or shop? tree? my glass shards are dropping puny (surprise!)
I set out Flax and chives but still a few dribs and drabs. manufactory; I can't notice quite yet

I have 45 greenhouses milled but will wait until Sunday morning to play any mini games. I hope to have at least 70 games ready to go (my poor clicking hand ) so that will mean I will have + 9 crop boosts plus 2 from CAC and 3 from SSG making my 2x2 plots give 19 plants.

 

As habalala posted earlier, stables in the range of 6 hours or longer are quite drop productive.
I started with mice (8:00h) and scaled down to rabbits (6:30h).
With Valentines pot and eggnog + a little nudge from the cloud rows they can be harvested quite a few times a day.
I give the trees a (-), plus as -Mir85- shows further up you can actually get both drops from stables and workshops.

 

First round of seeds are in the ground

I played 62 games, which takes me to 69 games total with the 7 I played first days. I got enough seeds with the 69 games, so I am saving the last two +2 bonuses for some of my regular crops (the last three buffs are for all crops, not just event crops).

It took me between 10 and 15 minutes playing the 62 games. I exited if I didn't find treasure in 4 or less digs, but that didn't happen often First time I played this event I exited after only two digs, and that got old really fast. From the 62 games I got 452 crates and 714 seeds total. That's 11.5 seeds per game on average.

 

This farm is at 75/75 on right side(just need the last prickly fungus), and my AmySue52 is done. Just uses 44 plots on main for event plants with apple trees around the edge, and grew Rose Hip on 1x1s at night for extra glue pots. The other fields were mice and trees. Both farms are at 79/80 on the right side.
I could not resist staying with the 2 and out strategy. I got too much time on my hands! Good luck my fellow farmers!!!

These Herb events really tell me just how stubborn I am. Today I spent 20 min to get a crate with 9 boxes and would have carried on for a lot longer if that was what it took. It's going to be a very long event again...

 

lol, hatzeva. Herbs are finished. Seeds left over that I am not going to plant. Have opened 89 crates with 9 boxes in every one. Will not settle for less in the next 11. Truth is I don't even like the game.

 

You can only trade what comes out of the treasure crates not what you have harvested.
