The pineapple cake bonus does not work on the new rain forest field

I have tested this with sugarcane, since it takes the smallest amount of time to grow. I have set 4 small plots, 4 medium ones and 6 large. I have planted sugarcane on all fields. The pineapple cake bonus was already active.

Display: according to the mouse-over pop-up, I should have gotten 3 for each 1x1, 4 for each 1x2 and 7 for each 2x2.
I have checked my inventory and I had 18012 sugarcanes before harvesting.

Harvest: I harvested the 4 small plots and in my inventory I got to 18020. Afterwards, I harvested the medium ones and reached 18052 plants and then I harvested 4 of the large plots and I reached 18052 plants in inventory.
I still had 2 large plots to harvest. I harvested them and quickly checked my inventory. I am absolutely sure that I have seen 18066 sugarcanes there. However, then I blinked and the number changed to 18062. According to these results, the bonus did not work.

I have repeated this test twice. Initially the counting considers the bonus, but within one or two seconds, it changes.

My conclusion is that despite the fact that the display indicates that the pineapple cake works on the rainforest field, it actually does not have an effect there. This is the case for plants, I did not verify on trees. I think that either the display is wrong or the counting.

Should this buff also have an effect on the new field?

This is probably a stupid question, but did you take in to account the crops you would have used to replant?

 

I think it is a reasonable question.

Yes, I did take those into account. I have checked the inventory after having planted all seeds. So I had 18012 seeds after planting. So, step by step, I harvested the 1x1 plots and then check the inventory, than harvest 1x2 and check and later harvest 2x2 and check again. During these steps, I did not replant anything.
For the second test I have only begun it after writing down all the results and I have also considered the number of seeds after planting as initial inventory value.

Update: In the meantime, I have harvested some trees. On the Bahamarama field I got 5 fruits per tree. On the rainforest field I only got 4 fruits for each tree. On both fields the display shows I should get 5 fruits for harvesting each tree.
