Ah, shiver me timbers, the next event starts tomorrow with an associated FSQ starting Thursday, full FAQ links above.

With the first freebie Torch and the three given in the FSQ, that leaves 21 Torches required to get the CR and all it needs.

    So requirements are:

    16,800 Fire Berries (1 Free Torch + 3 Torches from FSQ = 21 x 800)
    1,155 Branches (1 Free Torch + 3 Torches from FSQ = 21 x 55)

The Short Timed Farmer's Society Quest"The Pirate King" requires:

210,000 barn value worth of Mainland/Tropical Crops
210,000 barn value worth of Mainland/Tropical Trees
126,000 barn value worth of Mainland/Tropical Animals
3,900 Fire Berries (4,900 less 1,000 given as prizes)
140 Branches (175 less 35 given as prizes)

Plus 3 Torches given as prizes. :music:

Among the prizes, there is also a Rhino Habitat, a Robin Nest, a Norfolk Pine and a Monkey Tail Tree. :inlove:

Feel free to correct my maths, I had already spotted one error in my calculations as I typed this! :p

Good luck all - this looks fun!

Thanks for starting the thread illy!

My crop n drop numbers for doing both the event and the companion quest do not match yours... but, I am on only my first cup (not pot LOL) of coffee., so imay be wrong :wuerg:. I did my math a lil different, cuz well... I'm weird that way lol xD

    Starting from scratch:
    Crops~
    800x25 torches/games = 20,000
    -800 for the 1 free torch/game
-1,000 won from quest <~~~~ Task 3 gives an additional 400 crops I think you missed.
    +4,900 needed for quest
    -2,400 for the 3 torches/games won from quest = 19,700 20,700 total crops

    Branches~
    55x25 torches/games= 1,375
    -55 for the 1 free torch/game
-165 for the 3 torches/games won from quest
    -35 won from quest
+175 needed for quest = 1,295 total branches

I'm pleasantly surprised that the quest rewards, event prizes and the CR are very decent this time around :D. I'm missing the monkey tail tree and the rhino, and I absolutely will NOT pass up any CR that gives me CCs lol. And the crates give us extra goodies, even if they are so very random ;)

    Happy treasure hunting everyone!

I want the robin nest as well as the monkey tail tree, So FSQ must do.
Check the CR reward, it is so attractive!
I must go for this event.
But the bad is I forget to take a look on forum before I plant a long hr crop on my
    island:cry::cry:
Baha, rainforest had plant with 1x1 saguaro which mature 12 hr later, lucky crystal
fall could spare out for preparation. The other two field..... I had not make up my mind
to let them stay on field until event start or harvest on time and then quickly plant
something in CF field add SG to speed up. Which will give me better drops:(

You are quite right Peeps - I missed that 400 Fire Berries (first post amended) as a prize but I am not quite tallying with your figures - no change there for me lol!
I make the total for both event and quest: 20,700 Fire Berries and 1,300 Branches. Any advances on these figures? :p

Edit: Make that 1,295 branches. :)

Thanks for starting the thread, illy! This is crunch time for me (about 23 days to the first RL Farmers' Market), but I want that cloud row and those goodies from the extra quest for both farms! So I'm probably going to rip everything up on my Baha fields and go for it.

I have to admit that I shelled out the moolah and bought last months cloud row for both farms - that extra 10% drop rate daily really helps with events. I didn't need pucks at all with the last event - it was crops I couldn't get grown in time. So I am hoping that the drop rates continue to be generous.

Sorry Peeps, found my error, I took 35 from 175 and made it 145! Told you my maths is suspect! Will amend my initial post - again!o_O

I will also be clearing my Crystal Falls and planting on all three fields, leaving my two Lions, one lonely Rhino and my newly acquired Pitanga Tree of course! :music:

Thanks for all the number crunching! This event does look tempting, so the Island is stripped for action. Hope the drops are good with those high numbers.o_O

Best of luck to all participating!:D

I hate to say this but another zero needs to be added to the crop and tree requirement for the short term event.:(:( It's 210,000 for each one...not 21,000(although that would be fantasticxD)

Thanks Illy for the kick off. I'll add a few side notes :)

The event runs for 6 days with only 3 fields on Baha available for event crop and drop. This means approx 550 1x1 plots to work with, with CAC applied yielding 1650 event crops per harvest including a replant. Roughly 11 full harvests are needed to get the event crop requirement for the Treasure Hunt done.

    Event crop = 5 hrs; 4hrs with water; 3:36 with water/manure and 68 TEP per 2x2
Sweet Potatoes = 5 hrs and 71 TEP per 2x2

Given the TEP reward, when you're not participating in the event it's of no use to grow the event crop.

5 hr event crops with regular drop rate and LL at max = 8-12 drops per full field.
Given the amount of drops needed I hope BP is more generous here, otherwise long timed crops/stalls/workshops overnight are a must.

The FSQ, running for 4 days, if doing in full needs approx 3 more full harvests of event crop and a bunch more drops.
Keep in mind it's possible to skip gold and diamond levels. Pick your desired prizes ahead and do lessen the requirements accordingly.

I have no strategy yet on treasure picking. If anyone finds one, DO POST!

Last but not least: make good use of your Mainlands being event-free for awhile :)

Wishing all a happy hunt with lots of luck and smiles along the way.

[IMG] How to find treasure in 5 turns or less [IMG]

    • Start digging in one of the 4 middle squares
    • Follow the direction of the arrow approximately half way to the edge and dig a new hole
    • Repeat until treasure is found (if the arrow points back towards where you came from, dig between the two arrows)
    • Success in 5 turns or less guaranteed!
    • On average you'll find treasure with 3 or 4 turns
    • With 25 games played you can expect to win around 140 crates of treasure!

Example of the strategy below. I start at the same square each time. The colors are in the order of the turns, i.e. the magenta arrow is clicked first, then red, orange, yellow and finally green if it takes five turns.
