I like the spawning character events. The extra goodies that we get are fun. And I like the only using one field... but when we do that, the requirements really need to be lower, so that we can get more done with each harvest! It feels like an uphill struggle when you only accomplish one or two out of 75 tasks, with each harvest. Also... much as I LOVE being able to continue on with regular farming, if we are only going to use one field, why can we not have events on THE EVENT FIELD??? honestly, I don't see why the Powers That Be can't grasp that this would be a way to make EVERYONE happy - have constant ongoing events, to make them money; have constant use of our farms, to make us happy, which makes us want to spend more money; more opportunity to have more trees and stables out, which would make us all want more of them, which would make us spend more money.... everybody wins!

    Well said -matselleste-!!
Using the 'Event Field' also might even tempt me to start doing Events again!! :music:

I liked the event and feeding the spawn characters and the prizes were very nice! I also do not mind using 1 field for event crops and getting drops from things on other lands! I would NOT want to use the "Event Field" if we are only going to get 2 crops from each 1x1
and can't use CAC or green water. What is the sense of that?? I make Cac to use and I buy green water for events, so for me using that land is worse than watching paint dry! Just my opinion!;)

There are many farmers like sanddollar15 who hate having events take place on the event field because of all the restrictions placed on that field (no buffs of any kind and no Howies). Yes, I realize BP could easily remove those restrictions and allow all buffs to work there too. But either way, this is basically just an indirect way of giving us more land - similar in effect to giving us another all-purpose field for regular farming - and the demand for more land gets a lot of opposition from players as well (including me) since it tends to create more problems than it solves. That might be one reason why BP refuses to move all events to the event field.

Another likely reason is that event crops taking up valuable real estate on our farms is a core part of their monetization strategy. It incentivizes players to spend money on their products to speed up progress in events so they can get back to regular farming sooner and/or farm more efficiently to make up for lost time. Forcing us to clear our fields for event crops every week is also one way BP tries to encourage players to pay for the harvester subscription (builder) or premium package (farm restore), which in turn provides value to those paying customers.

These are all sustainable sources of revenue for BP and you want them to essentially sacrifice a huge chunk of it for some vague promise that happy players will buy more items they don't really need because they're just so happy about having constant use of their entire farm. I'm sure this is true for some players but I'm very skeptical that there are enough farmers willing to do that to make up for the real and substantial loss in revenue BP would be facing if they implemented your suggestion.

Fortunately, BP doesn't have to rely on pure hypotheticals because we already have 3 Baha islands where we rarely have events. I believe they're constantly collecting data on our spending habits so they can probably see for themselves if your monetization strategy is viable long-term using their own analytics. My guess is no.

Last but not least, many of us enjoy playing Farmerama as a strategy game and like how the combination of limited space + event crops taking up 1-2 fields most of the time gives us a reason to be strategic about how we grow things for other farming goals. If all events were moved to the event field without increasing requirements in other areas to compensate for all that freed up land, I think I would just quit and move onto something else - I'm not interested in playing a mindless farm game where the goal is to build a big and beautiful farm simply for the sake of it. At the same time, increasing non-event requirements doesn't really seem fair to more casual players so I'm not sure I want that either - it would just make everything more tedious anyway.

I also really really reeeeaaaaaally don't want another field I have to harvest regularly as I play for free and have to harvest manually unless I'm using a coupon. Having an event on the event field once in a blue moon is fine but all the time? :wuerg:
