The Viking Saga Strategy Thread

I am going for Miscellaneous prizes. I do not want a second set of EP givers. Doing the event gives you the first set required for cloud row. So I went for ghost trees & then power feeds. Ghost trees will be useful for MM FSQs. Later I will go for harvest coupons. I won a Ship Ride yesterday and another one today. So not going for Party Tickets. I have lots of GBs, so not going for that too. In future it is said we will need thousands of stars for new runes in the Wisdom of Oak Tree. So if any of you are very low in stars, you can try for those too.

 

The first hours the drop rate were very OK but less than day later I can only mill for one minigame with harvest from all 5 fields fully covered with event crop, feels like impossible to me, you have to grow event crop anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there an optimal crop or animal to breed to "regain lost drops"??????? Do you think there is a lot to win with extra minigames after 40 done, if you compare with "free" crops for coming needs?

 

"lost drops"= longer overnight crop, blueberry if often my choice. Needed in the artisan village.
I'm stopping at 40 games. By that time I'm sure I'm bored with the mini game, and ready to move on. Since 40 is the goal, I won't be growing (much) event crop after that. Back to the medium to long term crop. => more drop if needed.

I don't know what I'll go for in the shop. I'll go shopping when I feel in the mood. Defo not before breakie for sure

 

My crops have caught up to my drops even with a longer crop overnight so will convert a field or 2 to a longer crop I need for FSQ. I try to balance crops/drops along the way rather than continuing to grow event crops leaving me a surplus of crops and scrambling for drops.

I am only using Baha fields and I have lots of drops waiting for my crops! With these two fields, I manage two axes per harvest - no time to get bored!

I have pens and trees out on the main fields. That seems to give me a pretty good drop rate - so far 645. Think that's okay for now. May panic later!

 

I started out growing event crops all day, long crops at night on all 5 fields... but I spent the last 24+ hours growing nothing but refined carnations and roses on the mainland and false bird of paradise on Baha while my flower CR was up and running, with alchemist buffs kicking mainland flowers in the behind too. I still lack the drops to use up all the crops I had, but now that the CR and Alchemist buffs are fizzling out it's time to change things up as far as how many fields of what I need to grow goes to find the happy medium and try to even it all out. I need to stop buying manure tho for sure, toooooo expensive. I only have CF loaded up with parrots to help save some CCs, which helps SOME, but not enough, ugh.

I'm at 18 games on this farm, 19 on my other. Grabbed up the MM seedlings, a bunch of the PF and some SSG and SG from the shop so far as I work towards the CR and all it's silly givers...

I'm also at 18 games here on spots, and so far have nabbed all the eerie seedlings, the 100 SG, and 1 set of the party tickets - can never get enough of those, love to spin to try to get harvest bonuses . Will continue to concentrate on getting the rest of the SG, the SSG, and maybe the extra Viking Sauna giver, as that's going to be the most sought after at G&T, for those who can't complete 40 games but get the CR . Managed to land on 100% harvest bonus today, after watching it go whizzing past every time yesterday, so am growing event crops on all fields but 1, where I'd already planted refined carnations. After bonus runs out, will switch back to current strategy of refined carnations on at least 2, if not all 3, mainland fields, and grow any event crops still needed strictly on Baha, or if have enough, grow long term crops with buffs for drops. I'll keep throwing only until I get all the prizes I want, then back to bears and butterflies. Doing reasonably well with throws, getting bullseye on 3rd or 4th try most times. Still aiming for that elusive hole-in-one, tho. Hope everyone's having fun, and having a nice weekend as well!

 

Wow!! You guys are A-maaa-zing!!! I love reading all your strategies!

I've only been able to do six (!)! Very low drop rate as my highest stalls are only orange and my trees are still low level. (Level 45...still a newbie farm.) I only have two sections open on Baha so far. My Helicopter Ride is giving it a good push.

I really like this Event! It's fun to figure out the combinations!


Edit: Forgot to say I got enough star coins to buy the Viking Sauna...and planted it on Baha to help level up and open more fields. Lol - I think we all know that's the only way I'll be getting the Sauna!

 

Yea! I was able to get a bullseye on a first attempt. I swear Ingrid changed clothes after, I got the Bullseye on this 1st attempt, but I am strating to think it is my imagination now.

I'm doing really good! 23 throws so far.

I keep changing my strategy based on RL.

Right now, I have a surplus of event crops. 4,000+ I Have grow 1 round of refined Carnations on 3 fields and a second in process. I won't be using any more SG so I might plant a couple of field for tomorrow.

I am pushing myself since I am so behind on stuff. I have already bought all the GBs - a total of 35. I need 450 to open everything and only have 65 right now (after the 35 I just got). Pathetic! I used to pride myself on always having everything open in Baha.

I also want to buy all the trees since I am so way behind on them. I will get the eerie ones first. I was able to buy my 1st set. Yea.

After the trees (if my luck holds out), then I will have to make decisions.

New idea - do 33 throws for CR then buy the last giver! That seems more doable with the drop rate

22 throws so far so it is very doable.

 

She did indeed change clothes, she does on several of the bullseyes. Now that you got the hole in one, tho, she'll stay with that costume, which I find the most alluring on her anyway, and am hoping to have her in it myself before too long. Congratulations!

I'll be doing the same, annaquinn, if can't make enough broth to finish.

 

Thanks Spot! for letting know I'm not crazy. I do like her in this elaborate Green outfit. I think the original one is a plain blue garment. BTW, green is my favorite color.


I too hope that your Ingrid will soon be wearing Green. I have this same hope for everyone! Let all the Ingrid's wear green.

Have all the other bull's-eye bonuses and 21 games played so I reckon I'm doing alright. Growing refined raspberries (10.23 h) on main at night and event crops during the day. Baha I only use for event crops.

My drops are behind but I plan to use the instant-finished irises to get drops and crops to level, + I gain some much needed mallets for upgrades of the menageries/manufacturies.

Great to read all farmers here do love the fun event and are making good progress too.

Decided not to stick with my orignal plan (main - crop, baha - longtimers). I am at level 387 on baha and I decided I could use it for the event crop, despite the low TEP return. So I had/have longtimers for FSQs on mainland after nuking the initial event crop a few times due to 100% harvest bonus (twice!). Up to now the drops kept very nice in line with crops.

Played 33 games.. the CR is mine!
I need about 3000 more event crop and about 240 drops to get to the sauna giver. Will reach it tomorrow.
Bought ALL PF, SG and SSG, baha wonder trees and party tickets. Now have exactly 1 event coin left
