Why isn't the timer for the harvester and event the same as the timer for crops?

This happens all the time so let me explain the problem. When I am waiting on drops to finish an event I plant crops to make sure that they can be harvested before the event ends or before my harvester runs out. After planting a couple and watering them I check to make sure that the crop is within the allotted time frame. I then re-check the crop(s) harvest time and the event time or harvester time to make sure they all jive.

The crops I plant are within the time frame but for some reason the event ends before it is time to harvest the crops or the harvester stops running before the crops are ready to be harvested.

I was getting ready to quit for the night (1:46 am EST = 7:46 am CEST) and planted some tomatoes at the last minute. My harvester said I had 11 minutes left and my crops said that I had 8 minutes until harvest. I sat there and watched them but the timer for the harvester ran out first.

The time variance is usually not this close but I can't remember the times from past events.

  2. Hello nlm24.

The event timer is not big enough and to show seconds on the harvester and crops isn't necessary for many farmers. If you stay on a field for a long period of time, you can expect some lag time between your computer and the server. When you change fields it will activate the server & your computer to update accordingly.

    Can we assist you further?

I have to say I don't understand the above answer at all and am confused by this.

All of my timers show in hours and minutes

As stated before the time difference is not usually as close as the example given with the tomatoes above. It is usually different by minutes not seconds and not just 1 or 2.

In the above example I was harvesting my crops and noticed that I had a little time left (11 minutes)
Tomatoes take 10 minutes and 8 if you water them (which I did). Even if the timer were bigger and showed seconds it would still not account for this difference. Showing 11 minutes harvester time means that at a minimum I have 11:00:00 time remaining and showing 8 minutes for crops to harvest means that I have a maximum of 08:59:59

With the harvester active you click on the harvester icon, click on the harvest button and then to continue you click on the seeder functions (I didn't get that far). I clicked on the harvester and it showed that time was up and that it was no longer active. There was no time delay for me to do this because I was sitting in front of the computer at this time watching my tomatoes grow.

If it happens again I can give you the exact time if that will help.

If there is nothing you can do at this time than close thread.

    Hi nlm24.
Tomatoes take 3 hrs and 15 minutes without water. The only farm crops that take less than 11 minutes are cress, lettuce, carrots and wheat. If you planted tomatoes, they wouldn't have been done in 11 minutes even with water, supergrow and manure. Did you mean to plant carrots?

    I hope that made sense.

  5. Hello nlm24.

I'm very bewildered about how you can grow a 3h 15 crop in 10:08 mins even with water.

As always we don't recommend waiting until the last moment for harvesting, donating, etc.

I strongly suggest you don't stare at a computer screen for 3h.

We aren't computer experts. We're players who donate too much time volunteering. For the indepth explanation you're looking for, you will have to ask a computer specialist.

Thank you Janisella for your assistance.

    Closing as requested.
