Anyone got any good ideas on what the best tree combos/pot choice (bronze/silver/gold) are for this? The requirements for the gold pot seem awfully high to me . Call me crazy, but it would seem like, since we can get Baha trees, we should be able to donate Baha trees. Just sayin'.

 

FAQ says the best chance to gain the new rare trees are the gold pots. That is what I went for last time and got good results. I put on XL rare trees and also wish we could use Baha trees. Sadly, the XL mainland trees (farm trees not rare ones) don't have a good value to of much use. I'm not giving away XXL trees so I will do what I can and hope for the best.

Edit: I take back what I said about xl mainland trees. I guess it depends on which pot you select and if you have surplus rare trees to put in too. I am using only gold pots and I don't have a large surplus of rare trees to use.

 

I get rid of the XL trees (520 value) - 4 of them gets you a gold seedling pot. I just got rid of all my XL junipers. Not like I'm ever going to use them as I have enough XXL junipers to choke a horse.

 

Thanks PNP for reminding me to use my XL trees. Even if I have 30 or 40 of a regular tree, I don't want to part with any. I am too stingy. Plus, I can't give them away, if someone needs a few.

 

Thanks for the input. My connection decided to let me on today, so am trying to get as many pots as possible while I can. I know I rarely, if ever, put out my XLs, but I still have a horrible time giving them up, lol. Alas, the allure of new trees compels me.

 

With the new runes on the ToW reducing growtime on Mainland trees, getting rid of XL trees does very little harm. With the rune maxed out (20%) any regular tree gets the XL timing. The only XL I keep are the ones I still lack an XXL.

 

I too am getting rid of xl trees and the excess xxl oeach I keep getting. I also have a tonne of xxl craptalpa trees that I will throw on for good measure. Shame we can’t chuck on Baha trees too.

 

I haven't done this event in years. Been too busy. Thanks for the suggestion to use XLs. I've done 5 so far. Now sure I'll do any more. Haven't planted any yet, unknown results.

I'm only doing mainland trees since it seems I'm more in need of those than Baha. Any thoughts on which ones to try for?

Only the gold one! There's no point in getting one boring tree in exchange for two of them.



I'm sending away XLs and some of my XXL peach trees (those I have no base for) but I don't have much online time this weekend so maybe not all.... I remember last year I traded away my XXL kowhai trees and now that friut costs as much as any other fruit does.... The farm value was quite good. Now I don't use the "bare" basic kowhai trees so I think I regret selling those xxls.

 

I just traded 4 XL trees and got back -- a regular brazil nut. Wow, exciting.

 

Yay, just got the Ahuehuete tree after five or six attempts with the gold pot. The best so far on mainland is 2 XXL Yew trees. I've been trading 4 xl rare trees with each attempt so far.

Update: Yay again, just got the Judas tree, using the same method above and with the same number of attempts with gold pots.

 

I'm doing both main land and bahama pot. There are new trees in both and I want to be lucky! I don't care for xl trees as all, not even if I don't have an xxl. So all the rare xl goes in there. Should I by a miracle get rid of them all, I'll be thrilled to do smaller pots and regular xl just to get rid of them. I'm even tempted to send them on the extra slot now just to make my inventory easier to sort through.

 

I haven't gotten anything special have traded a lot of trees and mindy1701 I have gotten a regular (not even upgrade) brazil nut. Have been doing golden pots. Have four farms and the best I have gotten are a couple of XXL tiki trees. Haven't done the regular farm side trees only Bahama as I was trying to get cloud row.

 

Not so good for me. Of two mainland gold pots I got a stone pine and an xxl larch.
Of seven Baha gold pots I got one xxl annona, two xxl jujubes, an xxl yangmei (ok this one is good) two brazilnuts and a starfruit. Nothing new. I'll continue with mainland gold pots. It's still a money sink (or exchange-value-sink) but I truly don't need xl upgrades.

 

Didn't get the new tree on Bahama Got several Brazil nuts Very very disapointed.

Got the new tree on main, so it's not all gloom and doom. I guess I should be grateful of what I got instead of sad of what I don't have...
(But Brazil nuts ??? Come on!! )

 

I managed to get one of the alhuette and one of the mainland new tree (can't remember what it is) - on my other farm. I haven't put my pots out on this farm yet. Was waiting until the end of this worm event...just finished it this morning, so soon. very soon.

 

First and only one in Baha---Starfruit I have enough of those, thank you very much!! I did get an XXL Larch on mainfarm But I just wasn't feeling the love for this event this time around so I stopped Maybe Brazil nuts will be needed soon for something

 

All doom and gloom here - apart from the xxl yangmei. Kept getting xxl maple on main and xxl nandarin on Baha. Ah well maybe next time. Congrats to thise who had better results!

 

After 60 tries, no new trees on either side of the pond - although, the last 5 gold pots on the island did yield 3 more brazil nuts
