The tutorial really needs some updating. There has been some discussion about this in the mentor thread in the strategy section.

All of us fully understand that the tutorial cannot (and I would say should not) be too detailed. However, its clear that there are several issues of constant confusion to new people

    1. how the mentor system works. People get randomly assigned a mentor. They do get a message about it, but for me, and for others it is not really clear that the mentor is a real person, what luv points are (they get confused with phermones and other free gifts), or the difference between the gifts the mentors give and those from neighbors.

2.What items are permanently deleted and what items go into storage. Again, I am not the only one to hesitate to build my farm because I did not know that pens I deleted would stay and be ready for me in storage.

    3. Weeds for plants is relatively clear, but its not clear that nothing happens to pens or trees.

That's all I can think of at the moment, but if you start a thread/ask for suggestions from mentors, then I am sure you will get a pretty good feeling for what is needed. In that regard, maybe ask a few newer players -- those who have just left the mentor system and those who are still in it -- for their views on what is and is not clear. Things look a LOT different when you first start. We forget sometimes how easy it is to be confused, since we all understand things now.

ALSO, along those lines, we have a language issue. Its utterly impossible to have every language on Earth here. We all recognize that. And, you have done a decent job of making sure there are good pictures. However, a few points, particularly those above, could use some better clarification. Also, while I realize you cannot/don't want to link to specific translation programs, you might make mention of them somehow visually. What I am thinking of is having a slighlty separate tutorial that is purely pictures, for people with languages not supported in any forum directly. It could be helpful to some people who do speak the languages, but I think the biggest issues we have are with people who do not speak our languages. With a picture tutorial, you could get volunteers to make a kind of dictionary. I am thinking of something like a spreadsheet with pictures inone column and then the appropriate name in the other columns. You would not necessarily need to include every language, but having at least the most popular languages would be a big help! And, I am sure you could get help from the community for that specific task, if needed. Not all of us can be moderators, but we may be able to help in more minor ways.
