I would like to visit other players farms. I played ~edit~ on Facebook and you can go to players farms and help 5 things to speed up stuff.

I know some people want this. I myself am among those who do not. In the meantime, there is a forum thread that allows people to share screenshots. Have you seen it?

No I never seen. Or used. So how come you would not like this?

I for one would not like this because my farm is private. I started it for me. Just like you would not freely roam strangers' gardens, it is really rude to freely roam other people's farms. It would have to be on an invitational basis.
I also wouldn't want other people being active on my farm as I want it done a certain way.

But they get to help with 5 things speed up, harvest, or add a bonus like Suzy super grow or the fans? You and the helper gets the crops, not they get your crops that would be dumb. If they can not grow the crop then they can not get it but can help you grow it faster. Everyone farm is private, unless you post a screenshot on here?

I don't know what you mean about the "5 things speed up". What I do know is that if I want something done on my farm, I can do it myself. I don't need an assistant to run my farm for me, nor does anyone need a secretary to harvest their crops. Furthermore, none of us need to "grow our crops faster". They take the time that they take. It is not a race to level up as fast as possible. Given that this is a game, and not real life, there is no reason why anyone whatsoever would need to level up faster, except for sheer greediness and lack of patience.

Everyone's farm is private. If you choose to post a screenshot here you are free to do so, however that is only a small snippet of your private account. You do not show others every field at every waking hour and you do not give others access to the things you don't want them to access. If other people are content with having strangers trawling through their private accounts they are free to do so, but it is not something I am comfortable with. My farm is set up in a way that suits me, my goals on the farm, my desires from a leisure point of view, and my real life schedule. How I run my farm is none of your business, and it is not your place nor anyone else's to waltz into my farm and do this for me.

This isn't real life where things need to get done. If this were a real farm and I didn't have time to harvest my crops, I would gladly welcome the extra help. But this is a game. What is my role on my farm if I have other people doing my dirty work for me? Why exactly are you playing this game if you are going to hire someone else to do the work for you? And what is the benefit of doing someone else's work for them? How would a person using my account know what I want planted, or if I want anything planted at all? How can I control what that person does on my farm when I'm not around? For all I know, I could request that they plant tulips and come back 24 hours later to find my farm full of animals that I wasn't wanting to be put out.

Can you imagine the hostility that could occur? Being able to ruin someone's farm is a great way to exert anger, and whilst arguments of that degree don't happen often, they do happen. Not everybody is of a naturally sweet nature, and I'm sad to say Farmerama is no different. There are people in our community, whether or not they use the forum, who can be bitter and hostile towards other players - and giving them access to those players' accounts, aside from being illegal, is a war waiting to happen.

Furthermore, this account sharing is actually a breach of the Farmerama contract and therefore a breach of the law.

I don't like this idea either as it could open up our farms to those who just want to wreck the game by interfering with farmers fields. I think perhaps screenshots could be made more readily accessible to those other players that we may wish to see them. It may be that the screenshots are easy to send to others, I gave up on those a long time ago as it never seemed to work that well.

for me, the biggest reason is that it would require time/effort to develop that would take away from game development and features.

Beyond that, I have no interest in sharing my farm. Its something I do, not for anyone else. If you really want, there is the screen shot thread, but to me, it would just lead to more bragging/competition outside the game.
That is just personal preference. Like I said, the reason I actually object is the time/resource issue, but its not a big deal to me if a lot of people want it. I just don't think they do, though.

    i agree with squiggle!!

our farm are ours. we made or OWN progress and would not want to do this :wuerg: it is in my best interest that i do not think any player(S) in their right minds would want to share their farm...that is giving away personal details and slacking. i learnt all this now i'm giving this advice to you. do YOUR OWN work and trust me you will feel SO good about yourself. it feels amazing to complete goals you have been dreaming of and working towards for months...even YEARS. YEARS of work and progress and to ask for that "5 things" rule would be all of YOUR OWN work down the drain and it would stink! -.- so this may be what YOU want to do but it is not in our interest to share our work and farms with anyone else. :)

Just a comment: No need to get so upset, she made a suggestion not try to foreclose on your farm.

I think this quote is not a fair thing to say at all, some people enjoy being competitive and setting goals for themselves. Just because you don’t happen to be one of them does NOT make the others greedy or impatient.

Personally, I’m one of the ones that tries hard to move up levels quickly. I feel proud that thought up strategies and made goals for myself that got me up to level 86 in only 7 months. I’m in sales and marketing and that’s just how I roll, does not make me greedy or impatient, just the way I personally like playing.

By your comment I could turn around and say that the players that took 4 years to get to level 80 are just lazy bumblers that don’t have a clue how to play the game. How fair would that be?

    Hi neily33

I am familiar with the options you are suggesting, these features are available within many online games.

Some provide the option to only visit neighbors farms/lands ect... & this feature can be switched off at anytime. Some have the "help" feature as well, which again can be switched off, not allowing access if one chooses not to partake in this aspect of the game. Many gamers do enjoy this type of game feature and the social atmosphere it provides. To each his own. :)

I myself, would set the option to "do not allow" if said features were instituted here, but that is only-my choice. I don't see anything wrong with your suggestion at all. It is your thought, as to what you, would like to see implemented into this game. In fact great suggestion!
When we start a thread/conversation of any kind, in any forum we open ourselves up to a variety of thoughts and opinions. I do hope you will continue to post your thoughts & suggestions as you see fit.
    Happy Farming !

I'm with Wolfie on this one, nice idea - but only if you have the choice to opt-out. I'm a bit of an unsociable farmer, so "get awf me land!"

The reason Farmerama is good for me is BECAUSE there is no "share the duties option" I have gotten my farm to where I have set times to harvest and grow farmer society quest crops. I don't need someone coming in and harvesting a FSQ crop before I do it myself, lest that person think I intend to sell the crop and the excess gets sold off without my knowledge. I also have a set amount of crops in my barn. And I harvest more at my convenience. Not to level up someone else. If you have neighbors and THEY level up, you can congratulate them and get a certain amount of XP.

I used to play many farming games, and they all have the neighboring system that allows you to visit other farms from your neighbor list, and preform some chores, like harvesting some plots or feeding animals in return for some coin and a few EP but you have to consider that these game have a different system from farmerama, the harvester concept is different, the animal feed system is different, while I see the damage here is zero, but I am not with this idea, for different reasons, but first don't you think that BP does not know about that, or they did not see other farms when they decided to do farmerama, and if it will benefit the game they would not do a system like this or even better, I believe they do, and farmerama is the best farming game to me, I stopped playing other farm games completely, and the reasons are obvious if you played these games for a while, back to my reasons, while this feature looks appealing to low level player, it is not for high level players, because we simply do not have time, between the mainland, and baha, the artisan village the market, cloud raw the mill and the forum, over this the continuous events that keeps us busy, from were we bring the time, imagine you have 15 neighbors and you visit them daily, the time it takes plus the loading time and the net traffic, it used to consume a huge time that I can't afford, second, after you become high level these things become not appealing I can do better thing in less time and gain better coin and EP, third, these activities if they miss up a thing it is that you cant keep good track of the things you do, you have to go to every plot 1 by 1 to check what your neighbors did and do the required, I believe farmerama is bitter with out that.

I have one thing to add, since this is a free forum and every one is entitled to his opinion, please do not dwell on every response and personalize it, it escalates the heat, and some players get upset, we are here to learn from each other and to enjoy.
    Have fun.

When I first saw the post by neily33 I clicked 'like'. But you have excellent reasons that have convinced me to the contrary. Not that it matters, just wanted to to let you know. I used to play ~edit~ on FB. I did not like the fact that if you wanted neighbors they became your "friends" and were privy to everything you share with your friends. I like Farmerama just the way it is:)
