Whatever happened to Fern?

One of the plants that shows up in my main farm inventory is called Fern. It shows up with a zero quantity and I am unable to purchase more of them. Someone in the forum indicated that they are available at level 70 but, here I am at level 134 and no Fern.
What will I ever do?

The Fern was originally an event crop in the Funky Fern Project that became a permanent crop. You cannot buy them in the seed shop, but rather in the market.

Additionally, there was a FERN dispenser (it's a giver item and can be put on the giver fields) that dispensed ONE fern per day. You might be able to trade someone for it during the next G&T.

Personally, I suggest buying a few ferns on the market and growing them (6 hour crop). They are a very nice item to have in your inventory. Farmerama considers them a flower, so any buff that reduces time or gives additional harvest for flowers will affect the fern. I use them as fodder to donate to the Nublons during their recycle event because it's easy to do the math: their value is 200 and thus 1500 of them yield enough to poke the biggest (bottom) button.
