When I was young-ish I took a programming class as an elective my senior year. We used a mixture of Trash-80's and Apple IIe's. We learned some BASIC and of course used it to create silly logos and semi-obscene jokes. :)

We also used the 5 1/4" discs as frisbees when the teacher was out of the room. For some reason we treated the 3 1/2" floppies with respect but not the big ones.

When I was young-er and began playing this game, I would work late and when I got home all my crops had died and shriveled up! If the hard floods didnt take them away and clear my field...how many remember that?:D My how times at farmarama have changed....
Im editing this for some newer players that may not understand my previous comments, but in the begining of this game, we would have flash floods, hard rains, and drought (if we didnt get back to harvest on time!) I was always losing my fields of crops due to working at a pizzaHut after my regular job, :D but now I laugh...lol

Me too. When I was younger, 9 years younger than now, the same thing happened to my fields. Especially, it was sad when my event plants shriveled up.

I too used to come home after work and play the game. As I, then had computer and net connection only at home, it was during night I played the game. I started playing this game because I liked gardening and left my gardens back when I shifted my house to apartments. So I switched to virtual farming and stumbled upon this game. I also started to play this game as a stress reliever. I was a junior advocate then and had to work hard in all aspects. And in private life too I had to fulfill lots of responsibilities. So this game was something which I loved were I had no responsibilities and which had no connection with my real life. Also it was safe and the forum was also safe. I developed good friendship with members of this forum and other forums too. So I am still staying here and intend to for many more years.

When I was young (in this game), we used to plant crops and if we didn't put manure on our plots, sometimes it rained and ruined a lot of our crops. Very disheartening!

When I was very young I used to love exploring the outdoors, and sometimes my Mom would lose track of me. I would hear her calling my name, but I knew where SHE was, so I never felt lost. Anyway - I was too scared of getting lost to ever actually GET lost!!:wuerg:xD

This kind of adventuring came to an abrupt halt, though, when we lived in Florida...and Mom told me about all the poison snakes, and spiders, etc. that lived in the palmettos behind our back yard!!:eek:o_O:wuerg:!! (Mom was a very smart woman!)

I've never lost my love of exploration, though - just NOT in any palmetto or wetlands!!:music:

When I was young I used to wrap my old baby blanket around my neck and pretend to be Superman. Didn't matter that I'm the wrong gender - I just wanted to wear the cape. The games had to stop when Mom finally fixed the holes in the blanket. :)

*tries to revive old thread coz I am sooooo bored*

When I was young, playing cowboys and indians, or cops and robbers, with cap guns (loved the gunpowder smell) was quite acceptable.

When I was young I lived in a small town surrounded by light woods and a stream. Everybody knows everyone or was related so we could go out early in the morning; exploring and swimming at the swimming hole by the quarry and not return until the street lights came on and our parents didn't have to worry about us. Sure do miss those days.

When i was young about 7 or 8 years old it was nothing for me to be off playing by myself. our house backed onto bushland i'd be off playing all by myself or walking around the streets to the shops and such walking to friends houses to ask them to play ... i think now just how unsafe it probably was but back in the late 70's that was a much different time yes i know showing my age .... so we knew we could stay outside playing till the street lights came on that was our sign to head home lol ....

:music: When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful, a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily
    Oh joyfully, playfully...

oops got a bit carried away there. When I was young Dad would take us to the beach and slap the SPF0 coconut oil on us to help develop that extra dark copper tan that made all us Aussie kids look so healthy o_O

When I was young my family went to the state fair. I was 9 and my two older siblings were 13 and 15. My Dad gave us each 5 dollars and told us where and what time to meet up at the end of the day. We went off to the midway to ride rides and play games and my parents went off to see the exhibits.
