    8) Is there a way to delete a post once it is started? Sometimes I find a post either unnecessary or not needed, or just change my mind...but there it stays, unfinished. Please tell me how to delete these??:)

Also, can you tell me how to add a second or third quote AFTER you've already posted something? Thank you!

Sorry, if you started a thread then you cannot delete the post, also if you answered to a thread and the thread is closed meanwhile......I oops found the answer already myself a few times, annoying especially when I asked a DUH! question.....then you wish you could make it undone.....about the quotes...I'm not sure but with the insert button you should be able to add multiple quotes....the only one quote is when you reply directly to a post by hitting the reply button on the bottom right.....

P.S. I usually end up editing the post to ask for it to be removed or closed.

farmlily, if I understand you correctly, you want to know how to delete a draft. A draft is when you start replying to a thread, but you don't post it. If so: Find the button that says "Drafts", click it, then choose the option "Delete draft".

If you have made a post, click edit. Place the cursor where you want to insert the quote. Find the posts you want to quote and click "Reply".

    :)

  4. Hi farmlily3,

The easiest way to delete a draft is simply select everything you've written and hit delete, it will then save as an empty draft and clear what you had previously written.

To quote from multiple posts, just click the reply button on the posts you want and it will quote them all into your reply.
Don't forget to trim the quotes to the relevant parts.

    Can I help further?

8)*whew* Hi, everybody...and thank you all for your help!!
:oops:Now....if y'all could tell me where all those buttons are that I'm supposed to click...(Where is spotsbox when you need a good "how computer illiterate am I.." quote! Lol
Ummmmm, let's see...Neon, I've got the part about multiple posts when you are making a reply - but what if you POST a reply, and THEN want to add another quote or two (trimmed)?? How do you go back and add them?
Mir, where is that dratted 'drafts' button anyway!?:p And when I click edit, all the other posts become background and do not respond to a click on 'reply'....
    (I sooo need a visual....o_O)

Michael....your P.S. is what I should probably do with this post right now! This has to be the most "DUH' post I've ever posted on a post , including a 'post-card'!:eek:o_O:wuerg: **pulling hair out while running off into the distance yelling 'yaaaaahh..spooooooottttsss.....!!!!**

You need to click on the reply button of the post/posts you want to quote. In the message box that comes up trim the message not needed between the [ QUOTE="user.... "] this is what you need to trim [/QUOTE ] . Highlight and copy the whole text. Now you need to erase the writing from the new message box.
Go to your post you wish to add to and press edit. Place your cursor where you want to add the quote/quotes and paste the quote there.
Hit the save changes tab on your edit post.

Did this work? Can I assist you further?

8)Thank you for your reply, shooger, however this is not the problem I'm having. I understand adding quotes, and trimming unnecessary comments, and adding additional quotes to the same post. What I'm having difficulty with is AFTER posting- if I want to go back and add ANOTHER quote to the post that I already posted.:p
Or am I missing what you are saying? I ALMOST get it, but not quite. For instance, how do you 'highlight and copy the whole text', and how do you 'paste'? (I need visuals!o_O) Or a LOT more detail!

Or maybe I'm making mountains out of molehills?

Well, I've tried, but it's just not working for me. After clicking edit, then placing the cursor as you and Mir suggest, then hitting the reply button, it just makes a new post instead of adding it to the first one.
What am I doing, or not doing???

Ok, I think I finally managed to upload my pics.....so here is one
    [IMG]

I hope it is big enough to recognize where the insert button is, it gives you the two Quote brackets. In order to have both, your post screen and the quotes, just open the forum a second time. This way you can easily browse on one for the quotes, to copy and paste them between the brackets on the other screen.
I'm not too good in explaining things like this, but I hope it helps somehow......

The "Drafts" button is the one to the right of the one Michael used in the picture above.

To the other thing  I am sorry, it seems I broke my rule of always double checking before trying to help  You are of course right, it doesn't work:( Now I remember what I do:

First I click reply on the posts I want to quote, then I copy the text that appears in the text field, then I go to edit my previous post and paste the quotes there.

It is a bit roundabout, but when you get used to it, it is not too bad, and I don't know an easier way.

Hope this makes more sense :p

  10. Hello farmlily3.

Thank you Michael1877 and -Mir85- that is correct.

Click on the 'reply' button of the person you wish to quote. This will open a new post window. Trim the quote and add your response.

Push the left button on your mouse down and swipe it over the text you wish to highlight, press the right button and a pop up will appear with 'copy' click on that.

Click on the 'edit' button in your previous post. Press the left mouse button in the spot you want the text to be placed and right click the mouse a pop up should have 'paste'. The text should be in place.

Click on the 'save changes' button.

Your post should be in place with all the needed quotes and your replies

Is this any clearer for you?
    Can we assist further?
