Why is cuckoo always being sold so expensive?

For an animal pen that only takes 1.5 hours (basic) to harvest, you would think it should hover around 3000 per cuckoo. But in my market it is being sold for 5000 and above. And not to mention cuckoo bred animals are usually much more costly that its counterpart animals ie sheep, goat, fish

The feed although require some high level ingredients (catalpa & crop circle) isn't too hard to make and takes about 3 minutes. And is being sold for around 2000 (not too expensive actually).

And just wondering can we get upgraded pens of cuckoo (orange, red, pink) from wonder stables? Because thus far I have never gotten one.

 

Some facts:
The moustache salon workshop takes 8 cuckoos for just 1 single moustache.
There are 5 FSQ that require lots of cuckoo breedings.
Their feed is expensive.

Also, the cuckoos were introduced in a different way.
Hundreds of them came out as drop items from pens . I have never placed a cuckoo pen. Someone has?

So farmers had thousands of them and when they were introduced in the market, their price was below 100 CC for at least a week.
I remember I bought over 100.000 of them and I still have 30.000.

Old farmers still have hundreds of them and don't need to breed them.
And I believe for new farmers is way to expensive to breed them.
