There is no booking of event crops. To grow the required crop, you need the Garden Trowel + Seeds to craft the crop in the mill to get some starter seeds. Once you have as many starter seeds as you need, when harvested, you can continue to grow the event crop.
Each player will start with one Silver Key and will have to choose a path they want to start with. Fully completing the selected path will reward another Silver Key until all paths are done.

Once you've chosen your path and donated the silver key, you will get the starter seeds. Then you will be able to mill and plant the flowers of your choice.

As Nala777 stated, you need to donate to your first area of choice which will book you the starter seeds to mill the chosen colour flower in the Mill. You will then be able to plant the chosen crop on the related field.

If you drop under 5 Garden Trowels the system will check every 5 hours and replenish up to 5 Garden Trowels.

The trowels are in your mill. You have choosen to start with the moonlight primrose.
You have to mill the first seeds. Then you can start with them.
