Will Death of Flash End Farmerama?

    I'm getting worried. We've been told repeatedly that the devs are doing their best to make sure we can keep playing Farmerama after December 31st. But I haven't seen anything concrete announced, and the deadline is now less than a month away.

    Will we be able to keep playing? Will we be able to play without downloading the game to our computers? (That's the only way I can play at work or on the road.) Could we please get more information about what's coming next?

    Hello rivak,

    The 31st of December is not the one at the end of this year, but next year :) There's over one year left until then, so there is nothing to worry about.

    Here is a quote from the Flash shutdown announcement on their company's website:
    "[...]Specifically, we will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash content to these new open formats.
    Several industries and businesses have been built around Flash technology – including gaming, education and video – and we remain committed to supporting Flash through 2020, as customers and partners put their migration plans into place.[...]"

    We've already announced a couple of times that Farmerama will be transferred to another technology and you will be able to continue playing - the game is not going to be shut down, it will just have different coding behind it. That's all we can tell you at the moment. Stay tuned on the news and announcements in the next 11 months for more details :) .

    Well, that'll teach me to trust an independent computer site over Adobe itself. I really thought it was ending this year.
