As always, thanks for your wonderful four-line poem, davidb1yth007, it made us smile. I was wondering if anyone here plays board games. I hesitated a bit when looking at the games; there were various mini-games, but some we were already familiar with and I couldn't decide what to do. If anyone plays, I would be very grateful if they could share their experiences.

 

A stupid question perhaps from me who has been playing the game for 15 years, but DO we NEED to get CR, all those "wood products and animal products" and do we get stables and trees ONLY BY PLAYING minigames, with Candy Apples and those others then another game board?

I have never used White Innocence or Fruit Cake in my game and I have a stack of them.
I guess because I never knew what they were for!
If I understand correctly the crop time with Super grow is reduced by 10% and 5% respectively?
I'm guessing they must be used before the Super grow is applied?

 

Those temporary trees and birds are needed for the Piccolo box, permanent trees and stables, and numerous other rewards related to these two expansions. You can get the Cloud Line for even less.

There are 3 new stables and trees available. 2 in the Gear coin shop + 1 by growing winter ones.

If you're struggling for ball ornaments and have BBs to spare there are reasonable offers in the shop under seasonal items:
50 BOs for 65 BB
20 BOs for 30 BB
10 BOs for 17 BB
1 BO for 2 BB

 

Yes, you are correct. This uses both of the Gold slots, so think carefully about your goals. To complete an "instant" crop you would need a refined crop and a cloud row that reduces super-grow time by another 5%. There are three such cloud rows that I know of...

Edit: When playing the Holiday Board games, my primary target is the Puzzle mini-game because it gives Korean Fir Crates and a chance to get more trees.(and it is a pleasure to play without the count-down-timer!)

Edit II: By focusing on the puzzle mini-game, I now have 23 Winter Korean fir trees! (all upgraded)

 

How do we get the sweet orange punch? I keep reading the FAQ and the info on this thread and I'm just somehow missing how we go about getting it. Thank you in advance if someone can tell me.

 

Sweet Orange Punch are offered only on the "mountain Top" part. Just like the Candy Apple, there's 2 boxes with timers that let you gain them.

Mountain Top:

• Bonus Tile 7: Tile 8 rewards 1 x Sweet Orange Punch - 10 hours
• Bonus Tile 8: Tile 16 rewards 1 x Sweet Orange Punch - 10 hours

Holly just acumulate into inventory, as you sow and harvest you will unlock prizes until you've reached 12580 in inventory. This is needed to get a giver for the cloud row.

Yes, you need to harvest the Winter Korean Fir, Winter Cardinal Nest and Holly to get three of the givers needed for the cloud row. Also, as bonuses, you will get the permanent Korean Fir and permanent Cardinal Nest. If you do not harvest them, you will need to buy three givers with Trivia Points and the givers are quite expensive!

Yes, both must be activated before you use your super-grow. The same for your refinements, they must be activated before you sow that particular crop.

Loving the comments and wish all success. I've been planting candy canes and holly just because they are pretty crops and I have a bit of holiday decor on my fields. To my surprise, as I harvest, I sometimes get popups relating to the event. Just figured out some of the mechanics, so decided to muddle along and see how far I get...at least I'm learning a lot and that's always good for the grey cells!

 

Thank you! I don't know how I missed that. I keep hovering over all the boxes to see what they are and somehow haven't seen the punch.

 

I'm late to the thread, but I wanted to remind everyone about instant stables. 'Power Spray Art (+) gives 20% time reduction for stables, if you activate 5 at once they stack to give 100% time reduction. I've got 8, since I save them up carefully for times like this.
I combined a lot of bonuses for stable revenue and got 17 animals for each feed. I've finished all cardinal goals with only one cardinal stable, and grew a whole lot of all sort of animals I will later use to donate to quests, all while getting more cookies and ball ornaments than I could ever possibly use. Since I also got the permanent cardinal stable, I've even got a few hundred of those already. A highly recommended strategy if you can use it. Finishing the cardinal quests will also allow me to concentrate only on firs, making that faster.

 

Well .... I planted different crops and let them grow overnight thinking long term crops would give a higher drop rate ...

I got 4 Ball ornaments in total from 2 main fields...

I think the Grinch has stolen all the Ball ornaments!!

 

Istanboy. The drop rates are really low, that's just my opinion, maybe the reason for the low drop rates is that it's a long-lasting event, I don't know. Also, I collected orange star flowers in Kayran and got 22 ball ornaments, even though I activated all the bonuses, I could only get 22 ball ornaments from a single area, and I don't know what instant planting is, I'm one of those who waited a very long time for the crop harvest.
I just tried the board game and one of the questions asked which is the tallest tree, the correct answer is Sequoia sempervirens.

 

I never manage to get "Power Spray Art" other than in a Piccolo Box and I can't stop myself harvesting them lol! But good point, Shimmer. I am using PF plus I have +100% Revenue (covers everything) plus +100% Animal Revenue (both with Pinky Pie), I have one Mighty Mower so all this is giving me 6 White Cardinals and I just found another Mighty Mower lurking in the back of the EP items Barn which will activate tomorrow so that will give me 7 White Cardinals per pen. I have 4 pens and I am nowhere near, I have 245 in total! They are ready about every two hours so I can get about 100 per day. I am still confident that with another 18/19 days I will get there.
Trees are lagging too, only 610 but, again, I'm not bothered about that - much!
I'm probably about halfway with both crops so defo good there.
I have one 300%, two 200% and three 100% Overal Revenue buffs left so I will adjust as I go along.

The biggest thing is the drops, they are pretty poor and, though I am sure we will all get enough by the end of the event, we need them NOW! I have put in some refined Aramanth but they weren't very helpful at the start of the event so I am not holding much hope there!

Well, a field Aramanth gave me 23 drops. I have planted two more fields and may plant them overnight. I can catch up with event crops later but I need those Ball Ornaments to progress.

I can now see what to miss out and what to go for on the Mountain climb - leave all the bits that aren't needed and come back to them later - Wonder Stables and Cardinal nest for instance. I have no room for them anyway!
It took me till yesterday to notice the scrolly thing at the left hand side!

 

Winter Korean Firs and Winter Cardinals:

Where on earth are those finished products DELIVERED to, or do they come automatically like "Missions" rewards?

BTW:
I can take it - I didn't notice that they should immediately put those 4 trees and 1 stable in the areas - too bad, a big loss with short completion times (and over 9000 to get !!!)

 

When you harvest the Winter Korean firs and Winter Cardinals, they automatically count towards the missions and you will get pop up messages indicating your reward. They do not need to be 'donated' in the traditional sense like quests. Same for holly.

Because holly cannot be donated to this event, but is rather counted by harvesting, it does seem to me that the sorting mini game is pointless.

Today's mission is to get cookies to decrease my timers. I need keys to be able to open the mountain top. I'm now stuck again My farmwheel spins gave a crop bonus so I am still working on crops and then will switch to stables/workshops for cookies.

I am enjoying the event and really like that we have the entire farm to work with. There are just some areas that bottleneck which can be frustrating, but there is plenty to do while waiting.
